Emily de Molly September 2017 Releases - Swatches & Review

Wednesday 13 September 2017

I'm switching things up for today (mainly because I haven't edited my 31DC2017/Digit-al Dozen mani yet - that's a job for a little later today).  I have been sitting with these new Emily de Molly polishes for what seems like forever and I have been dying to share them and now I finally can.  Woohoo!  There are a total of seven new polishes (and possibly some limited edition polishes as well but I don't have those).  Right, let's take a look at these stunners shall we?

Door Prop is a maroon red holo with green to pink shifting shimmer.  I think this one is really stunning - and that is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like red polishes.  The formula is amazing and it is close to being a one coater.  My swatch shows two coats.

Magical Refuge is a light grey with strong green shimmer, silver holographic glitters and pink/gold/green shifting iridescent flakes.  I really like the looks of this one but I found it a little sheer for my personal taste.  I personally would prefer to wear this as a topper.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Meet Me Halfway is a pale peach foil with gold to green shifting shimmer.  I think this is a pretty polish in the bottle but I am not sure I like it on my nails.  The formula is easy to use but it is a little on the sheer side.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Paper Universe is a dark royal blue jelly with bronze/gold/green shifting flakes, blue shimmers and gold holographic microglitters.  I think this is a beautiful polish.  I really like the mix of glitters.  the formula is easy to use.  I used three coats for my swatch but you can get away with two coats.

Sitting Still is a white crelly with strong green shimmer, black and white micro glitters and pink/gold/green shifting iridescent flakes.  I really like this one.  It's so unique and cool looking.  I wish I could have gotten a good sunshine picture so you could really see the green shimmer.  This polish is definitely better in person than in my pictures.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Strangeness And Charm is a pale green holographic with pink shimmer, gold flakes and chartreuse micro glitters.  Again, I think this is a really pretty polish - particularly in the sun/direct light.  The formula is easy to use and applies evenly.  I used three coats for my swatch but you can definitely get away with two coats (it was just a little bit see through at the tips in direct light for me).

Urban Dictionary is a dark olive/blue/dark purple/red multichrome.  I'm a huge fan of this one.  The colour shift is fantastic and the formula is awesome.  My swatch shows two coats.

There are so many great polishes being released this month.  My absolutely favourites would have to be Urban Dictionary and Door Prop, closely followed by Paper Universe, Magical Refuge, Strangeness And Charm and Sitting Still.  Have I ever mentioned that I have a terrible time picking favourites, especially Emily de Molly favourites.

September releases will be available on Friday 15th September at 9am AEST on Emily de Molly's Australian site, and Thursday 14th September at 7pm EDT on the international site.

  2. My favourite here is Door Prop, but I olso like some of the others. I've become a huge Emily De Molly lately, nowadays I don't see mainsteam brands publish anything new in their lines but Emily De Molly does find a way to raise interest with new shades. :)
