Grace-full Nail Polish ChrysantheMUM - Swatches & Review

Saturday 30 April 2016

Today I have a quick little post for you.  Grace-full Nail Polish are releasing a beautiful linear holo polish as a special Mother's Day polish and I have it to share with you today.  Now you may be wondering why I didn't include this polish in my blog post the other day.  Well I thought it was best to give this beauty it's own post plus this polish is available to everyone, unlike the There She Goes Collection which is an exclusive to the Grace-full Nail Polish Facebook Group (haven't joined yet?  You can join here).  Right, now onto today's pretty.

ChrysantheMUM is a linear holo that is inspired by the deep colour of the pink chrysanthemum.  This colour is absolutely beautiful and the formula is fantastic.  I am a huge fan of Grace-full's holos.  The formulas are always so good.  My swatch shows two coats.

How stunning is this polish?  It's seriously stunning in person.

ChrysantheMUM (along with the There She Goes Collection) will be available from Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site on today at 10am AEST and on the international site on Friday 29th April at 7pm CST.

OPI Hello Kitty Blossoms In My Bag Duo - Swatches & Review

Friday 29 April 2016

OPI released a limited edition twelve piece Hello Kitty Collection earlier this year (or was it late last year?  I'm terrible remember dates) which was super cute and had some gorgeous colours.  I have swatches and a review of the full collection here if you missed it and are interested in checking it out.  Warning: it's super pink and girly and I love it.  Anyway, I recently saw on OPI Australia's Instagram account that there was a super cute Blossoms In My Bag Duo available so I had to have it and will be sharing it with you today.

The Blossoms In My Bag duo comes with two new polishes as well as a super cute little Hello Kitty bag.  I have had to hide it so my daughter doesn't pinch it on me.  I mean seriously how cute is this bag?

Showered By Petals is an off-white creme.  On it's own it looks white to me, however when you sit it next to Alpine Snow if definitely isn't as white.  I was hoping that it was going to have the same formula as Alpine Snow, however I found that this one applied patchy on the first coat and needed three coats to make it fully opaque.

Sitting Under Cherry Blossoms is a semi sheer pink with pearly pink shimmer.  I found this one was quite sheer so I layered it over OPI Alpine Snow.  It was easy to use however did apply unevenly on the first coat.  It did even out on the second coat.  I have included a bottle shot in which you can kind of see the shimmer.  It's definitely more apparent in the bottle in person than it is on the nails.

Overall I don't particularly love either of these shades.  I definitely think the polishes that were released in the twelve piece collection were much better than these two.  The cosmetic bag is super cute though.

You can purchase the Blossoms In My Bag Duo from Myer, David Jones and selected salons.

Grace-full Nail Polish There She Goes (Part) Collection - Swatches & Review

Thursday 28 April 2016

Before I jump into talking about the newest Grace-full Nail Polish collection, you need to (if you haven't already) join the Grace-full Nail Polish Fan Group Facebook page.  You can do that right here.  Right, now that you have done that we can continue.  Today I have four of the six shades from the There She Goes Collection which is a collection that is exclusive to members of the Facebook fan group.  This collection is inspired by the show Gilmore Girls.  I'll go right ahead and say that I have never really watched Gilmore Girls before.  No particular reason why.  I just never did.  Now the names and inspirations go a little over my head so I will include some of the press release information for those of you who sit in the same boat as me.  Right, enough babbling.  Let's get into the pretties.  Warning: this post is quite picture heavy because some of these polishes are a little camera shy.

Blended My Little Pony is a pink shimmer with copper, gold, purple and pink glitter.  Inspiration for this polish was taken from Luke's reaction to the cocktail 'Rory' - "God that's terrible.  It's like drinking a 'My Little Pony'.  I absolutely love this one.  It's one that I couldn't stop staring out on my nails.  Theresa certainly knows how to make gorgeous pink polishes.  The formula is amazing and you could get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Dragonfly Inn is a dusty purple holo with a gold shift.  Inspiration for the base of this polish was taken from the purple in the dragonfly logo.  This polish is really pretty and has a great formula.  It applies well and only requires two coats to be opaque.

Friday Night Dinners is a pearl white/light grey holo base with pearl shimmers and shimmers in pink and blue.  This polish didn't want to play too nicely with my camera.  The shimmers on the nails where so shy.  You can easily see them in person.  I have included some bottle shots so you can get a better idea of the shimmers.  The formula is easy to use but I recommend a careful application as the shimmer is very hard to clean up.  I used three coats for my swatch.

I Smell Snow! is a very light blue shimmer with blue mini flakies, white flecks and iridescent-blue flecks.  This is another pretty polish that was a little camera shy.  The formula was easy to use, however did it apply a little unevenly on the first coat so I needed three coats to even it out.

I really like these four polishes, particularly Blended My Little Pony.  I think this is a must especially if you love pink polishes.  It's just so beautiful. My daughter is even trying to claim it as her own.

The There She Goes Collection will be available from Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site on Saturday 30th April at 10am AEST and on the international site on Friday 29th April at 7pm CST.  Don't forget that this collection is exclusive  to the Facebook group members.  If you haven't already, come and join us here.

Celestial Cosmetics Unicorns & Rainbows Collection Plus March COTM - Swatches & Review

Wednesday 27 April 2016

Before diving into the polishes I have to share with you today, I wanted to do a little "catch up" about my blog.  For a while now I have been doing four posts each week and I have been managing to stay on top of that but wanting to more.  Over the past couple of weeks I have been doing five posts and I have really been enjoying it.  So going forward I am going to continue to do five posts a week (no promises because life sometimes happens) and will hopefully be showing off some new brands to my blog.  When I say new brands I mean brands that I have not shared on my blog before, and hopefully some new brands to me as well.  Definitely let me know if there are more brands (both polish and stamping) you would like to see and I will check them out.  And if there is any particular posts you would like to see.  I am open to any and all suggestions.

Now onto today's post.  Celestial Cosmetics is a brand that I have tried but never really put on my blog.  I think I may have had maybe one or two posts featuring them early last year, so it's time they make a come back.  Today I have the Unicorns & Rainbows Collection as well as the March Colour Of The Month (COTM).

The Rainbows & Unicorns Collection includes five holographic polishes in various shades.  I found the formulas on each of these to be easy to use, however they were a little on the sheer side.  I used three coats for the majority of these polishes and still found that if I held my nails up to the light you could see through them.

Cakes & Rainbows is a gold linear holographic.  My swatch shows three coats.

Farting Rainbows is a cornflower blue linear holo with a violet overlay.  Super pretty and definitely on of my favorites in the collection.  The violet overlay is much more obvious in person than in my pictures.  My swatch shows three coats.

Rainbows & Unicorns Unite is a soft lilac linear holo with a blue overlay.  This is another favorite of mine.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Snow Unicorn is a frosty pearly grey linear holographic.  This one is really sheer on the first coat (especially in comparison to the others in the collection) and has visible brush strokes.  Personally I am not a huge fan of this one.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Unicorn Fields is a forest green linear holographic.  I imagine that this one is very popular with green lovers.  I found that this was the most opaque in the collection.  My swatch shows two coats.

Daffodil is a light, lavender toned pink holographic polish with silver shimmer and tiny opal-like flakes that shift from green to blue.  This was March's COTM and is no longer available on the Australian site, however it is still in stock on the international site.  The formula is easy to use and is opaque in three coats.  I did find that the flakies are a little hard on the nail.  They do stand out more in the bottle.

Overall I like this collection but I don't love them.  My favorites are Farting Rainbows (which is also a favorite of my daughters purely for the name), Rainbows & Unicorns Unite and Daffodil.

The Unicorns& Rainbows Collection is available from Celestial Cosmetics (Australia) and on their international site.

Lilypad Lacquer Color4Nails Facebook Exclusive Duo - Swatches & Review

Monday 25 April 2016

It's been such a loooong time since I have purchased any Lilypad Lacquer (excluding the ones that come in the few What's Indie Box that I have purchased).  It's not because I don't like what they have been releasing it's because the store is either closed or I simply miss them when they are released (or don't have the money for them is more so what it is).  Recently, however I did get my hands on the stunning duo that was made for the Color4Nails Facebook Group.

This Heart Of Mine is a blue based polish with pink and violet shimmer and colour changing chrome flakies.  This polish is stunning.  I absolutely love it.  The formula is easy to use, however I did find the colour a little sheer for my personal taste.  Even after three coats (which is shown in my swatch) I could still see through the tips in direct light.  You can kind of see the shimmer in my pictures (for those new to my blog my camera doesn't like purples especially when they are with a blue) but the shimmer can easily be seen in person.

Wreckless Intentions is a purple based polish with blue and violet shimmer and colour changing chrome flakies.  Another stunning polish.  The formula on this one was easy to use and definitely wasn't as sheer in colour as This Heart Of Mine.  If you don't mind a slight visible nail line then you can get away with two coats of this one.  I used three coats for my swatch.

This duo is simply awesome.  I absolutely love it.  I believe that it's no longer available anymore but I could be wrong.  I picked it up when Color4Nails were selling them to raise money for a charity (sorry I can't remember the exact details).

There are some other Lilypad Lacquer store exclusives available at Color4Nails and of course you can find Lilypad Lacquers on their site as well.

MILV Water Decals - Mixed Swatches

Sunday 24 April 2016

It's been a while since I have spoken about MILV water decals and I thought it was about time I talked about them again.  I originally did a post that showed the different types of MILV decals that are available (you can see that post here if you would like) and today I thought it would be fun to show you a few of the MILVs I have used and how I have used them.

I simply love how easy MILV decals are to use.  Seriously you don't need any nail art skills to use these.  And the designs are amazing.  There are so many to choose from.  I won't lie, I have quite the collection and there are still more that I would love to own.  Have you tried MILV water decals before?

The majority of these designs (plus a huge range of other designs) are available from Powder Perfect.  They offer international shipping on MILVs as well.
