July 2021 Favourites

Saturday 31 July 2021

I honestly can't believe that today is the last day of July.  Even more shocking is that I am actually writing this post on the 31st July.  Normally I am a lot more organised and do it the day before (or sometimes a couple of days before) but life is busy!  This month I haven't had too much time to do nails so have actually been wearing maybe one to two polishes a week.  Quite different to my daily polishing habits.  With that said today's post will be quite short as I really haven't had much happening on my blog.

Indie Polishes
No surprise that again this month I have no nail art, no mainstream polishes and that my favourites is full of Emily de Molly and Grace-full polishes.

Emily de Molly Rewind Collections
This month Emily de Molly released a bunch of polishes that we have fallen in love with over the years.  Some of these are the same to the originals while others have some slight variations.  I'm pretty sure all of these polishes were also in my favourites after their original releases.

I am a little on the fence if I should be including the holo rewind polishes or not because I didn't swatch any of these this year.  These are all the original swatches from the original release.  But they are all so pretty to not show again.

Grace-full Nail Polish Once And Floral (Indies Down Under July 2021)
This is a super pretty polish and hands down my favourite from the duo that was released during this month's Indies Down Under.

Grace-full Nail Polish Modern Vampire Collection
Grace-full Nail Polish's latest collection is a must have.  There are sooooo many stunners in this collection!

Right that brings us to today.  I do have a few things to share in August so stay tuned for those.

Grace-full Nail Polish Modern Vampires Collection - Swatches & Review

Monday 26 July 2021

 PRESS SAMPLE

Grace-full Nail Polish are back with another new collection!  The Modern Vampire collection is the second vampire collection from Grace-full and it consists mainly of holos (which I was dreading swatching - holos in Melbourne's winter is never fun but I managed to find some little pockets of sunshine luckily).  This eight piece collection is inspired by Twilight and Vampire Diaries.

Alice is a rich teal linear holo with aurora shimmer that shifts to blue.  I love this one.  It's such a gorgeous colour and the formula is amazing!  You can get away with one coat but I used two coats for my swatch.

Bella is a red/deep pink jelly base with colour shifting flakies in red, gold and pink.  Another gorgeous colour and the only non holo polish in this collection.  The formula is great and easy to use but she is very pigmented so clean up can be quite difficult.  My swatches show two coats.

Caroline is a linear holo in deep purple with a subtle blurple shift.  The aurora shimmer leaves a smooth pretty finish in the shade and with the sun the holo sparkles.  No surprise that I love this one!  The colour is gorgeous and the formula is amazing.  You can get away with one coat but I used two for my swatch.

Damon is a blue/red duochrome linear holo.  Love this one too!  The shift is definitely there in person but it's hard to capture.  The formula is also fantastic and you could get away with one coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

Edward is a rich deep maroon linear holo.  Just to repeat myself here - this is another gorgeous colour with another fantastic pretty much one coat formula.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Elena is a deep pink linear holo with aurora shimmer.  Love, love, love! *insert repetitive comment about being a gorgeous colour with an amazing formula*.  My swatch shows two coats.

Jasper is a green linear holo that shifts between olive green to forest green.  I don't recall seeing a shift in this one but I also did swatch these a little while ago so maybe I just have forgotten it?  Not too sure.  But the colour is nice and the formula is great (again you can get away with one coat).  My swatch shows two coats.

Stefan is a dark brown linear holo with shimmer.  Again, this one is a nice colour with a great formula.  My swatch shows two coats, but you can stop at one coat.

I am a big fan of this collection.  The colours are great and the formulas are fantastic.  I'm definitely not a fan of swatching holos in winter.  Aside from struggling to find sunshine it's also not the great sun (as you can tell from my pictures) so I do apologise for that.  Blame Theresa for releasing holos in winter haha.

The Modern Vampire Collection will be available on July 30th at 8pm AEST from Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site and the international site.

Grace-full Nail Polish Duo (Indies Down Under July 2021) - Swatches & Review

Tuesday 6 July 2021

 PRESS SAMPLE

It's time for another round of Indies Down Under.  This month the makers are bringing us not one but two polishes!  I have the duo from Grace-full Nail Polish to share with you today so let's just dive right in shall we?

Don't Stop Be-leafing is a burnt orange crelly base with multi colour ultra chameleon flakes.  This isn't my sort of colour.  The formula is nice and easy to use.  For my swatch I used two coats but I question if I should have done a third coat as it was a little see through at the tips for my liking.

Once And Floral is a deep pink base with ultra chameleon flakies in red, bronze and gold.  I love the colour of this one.  It is super sheer on the first coat but does build up on the second coat.  I used three coats for my swatch but would consider wearing it over a base colour or a tinted base next time.

These two polishes will be available via Indies Down Under.
