Emily de Molly May 2018 Releases - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 26 May 2018

I know I say this every single month, but Emily de Molly have killed it with their latest releases!  There isn't a single polish in this month's release that I don't like or am on the fence about.  Narrowing down the favourites from this release may be close to impossible.  Let's take a look at them shall we?  This is a very picture heavy post so I will try and keep the chatting to a minimum.

Causing Friction is a red based brown with golden/green shimmer, green to blue shifting iridescent flakes and fuchsia micro glitters.  I really like the mix of glitters, shimmer and flakes in this polish.  It's so interesting.  The formula is amazing.  You could get away with only one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Larger Than Life is a chartreuse with golden/green shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters.  This polish is very sparkly and reminds me of summer.  The formula is easy to use.  I did find that it was a little bit see through at the tips after two coats so I used three coats for my swatch.

Lost In Translation is a pale pink (warm) to brown (cold) thermal with copper overlay and silver micro metallic micro glitters.  I really like this one, particularly in the warm state.  It shifts well between the two shades and the formula is awesome.  My swatch shows two coats.

Mundane Tasks is a steel blue crelly with green chrome flakes and green and fuchsia micro glitters.  This is another one of those old school indies that seem to be popping up here and there and I am more than ok with it.  I really like the base colour and the glitters.  The formula is amazing and close to being a one coater.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Reflected Glory is a coppery red foil holo with strong gold shimmer.  This is such a gorgeous colour and the formula is fantastic.  My swatch shows two coats.

The Longest Night is a dark teal with golden/green shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters.  This polish is gorgeous!  I love everything about it.  The formula is awesome and is opaque in two coats.

Travels By Day is a purple/gold/green multichrome magnetic with blue iridescent shimmer in a dark blue base.  I love, love, love this one!  The colour is gorgeous both before and after the magnet, and the formula is awesome.  I have learnt with magnets that top coat makes it shift some more.  I did have a nice crisp line until I added top coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

Winter's Gate is a very pale greyed lilac with gold/green/blue shifting aurora pigment.  Love this one too.  It's so pretty and delicate, and the glitter/pigment is stunning!  The formula is on the sheer side so I would actually consider using a base colour next time.  For my swatch I used three coats.
