Dixie Plates Marbled Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 7 November 2017

Today I have the other stamping plate I picked up from Dixie Plates.  This is the plate that actually caught my attention the most and just had to have it.  Like with DP12 (which is the other plate I purchased) the images are huge!  However, in this case it isn't too much of an issue because the images aren't a structured design (is that what you would call them?)  They don't have a set pattern so it really doesn't matter if the whole image doesn't fit on your nails.

For my first mani using this plate I wanted to go with a really simple look.  Mainly because I was curious how these images would look by themselves and not layered.  I really like how this turned out.  For my base I used OPI's Ornament To Be Together and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

If you follow my on Instagram then you will have seen that I received the Colour Chrome Collection from Models Own.  Given they are a metallic/chrome finish I thought I would test out how they would stamp.  They definitely aren't great for stamping as they are pigmented enough and they do dry quite quickly.  This mani isn't exactly what I was hoping for but I still think it looks pretty cool.  Polishes used are Color Club's French Tip, Models Own Chrome Silver, Chrome Gold and Chrome Copper.

I really like this plate.  As I mentioned earlier, yes the images are huge but that doesn't matter so much with these types of designs.  I had no issues with how the images picked up or transferred.

Sadly, the Marbled plate is currently sold out however it is worth keeping your eye out for it on Dixie Plates.

*edit: I have just found out that the Marbled plate will be available again this weekend.  Might be worth grabbing it before it sells out again.
