Grace-full Nail Polish Muggle Alchemy Collection - Swatches & Review

Wednesday 11 September 2019

Hello!  I'm still here!  I am officially in the new house and sloooooooowly making my way through unpacking all of the boxes.  Our house is at the point of being functional (yay!) but there are still so many boxes that need to be unpacked and then at some point I need to organize things properly.  I have managed to start putting away some of my polishes as well which means I can get back into doing my nails and I couldn't be more excited!  I have some new things to play with and I now have internet!  Telstra was meant to come out to us on two separate occasions last week but no one showed up.  Finally had someone come out on Monday but was told we needed to wait 24-48 hours for the wifi to begin working.  No idea why the delay but it doesn't matter because I have wifi again so now I can play catch up with all my blog posts and swatching.

Now that we are all caught up let's talk polish!  Grace-full Nail Polish have a brand new collection called Muggle Alchemy and is inspired by Harry Potter.  This collection consists of ten polishes -  one thermal, one holo, one jelly holo flake, one metallic foil, one ultra-chameleon magnetic, one ultra-chrome chameleon flakie and four aurora shimmers.

9 3/4 is described as an orange toned red with gold aurora shimmer that gives a metallic look and gold flecks throughout.  This is a really vibrant polish!  The formula is great and applies evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch.  It is still a little bit see through at the tips but it's bareable.

A Million Candles is a deep blurple jelly base with silver holo flakes throughout.  This is such a pretty polish and the formula is easy to use.  For my swatch I used three coats, but I think most people would probably stop at two coats.

Dora is described as a magnetic and chameleon that shifts colours from a deep pink to a lighter pink and a bronze/orange. This polish is fantastic!  It's super shifty and looks great both with and without the magnet.  I used two coats for my swatch, however I should have used three coats.  It's still a little sheer at the tips for my personal taste.

Draco is an aurora shimmer polish that moves from emerald green to purple with pink and blue flecks throughout.  I really like the colours in this one and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Goblin Gold is described as a polish that looks olive green in the bottle and shifts between green and gold on the nails because of the aurora shimmer.  I think this is quite an interesting polish and the formula is great and applies evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Golden Catch has two different sized silver flakes and gold flakes leaving it with a foil finish.  This is super shiny and fun to wear.  I think it would also make for a great accent nail.  The formula is great and applies evenly.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Moony is a purple base with green, gold and teal aurora shimmer that leaves rainbow flecks throughout.  This one is gorgeous!  I love the colour and the formula is great and applies evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Our Hero has a base of ultra chameleon flakes in green/gold/fuchsia and a good sized sprinkle of holo flakes.  I'm a big fan of this one.  Now the formula is definitely on the thicker side which was kinda tricky to work with but don't at the same time.  I did find that doing a slight dabbing motion was a bit easier.  I used three coats for my swatch but next time I think I will use it over a dark base as it still was a bit see through at the tips.

Pensieve is a silver holo with blue aurora shimmer that leaves a subtle blue sheen, and has UCC flakies throughout.  I love this polish!  I don't know what it is about holo and flakies together but I love it!  The formula is great and easy to use.  I did use three coats for my swatch, however you can stop at two coats.

Potion No 5 is a thermal that changes from blurple to a jade green and has ultra chameleon flakes throughout.  I think the colours a nice in this one and it does transition well.  The formula is easy to use and is opaque in three coats.  I used three coats for my swatch.

I really like this collection.  I think it has a good mix of polishes in it that will make it easy for everyone to find something they like.  My personal favourites are Pensieve, Moony and Our Hero.

The Muggle Alchemy Collection will be available on 13th September 8pm AEST (or 5am CST) from Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site and international site.
