September 2019 Favourites

Monday, 30 September 2019

What a whirlwind this month has been!  I originally had planned on joining in with the 31 Day Challenge but instead we ended up moving house which took up a lot of nail time for me.  Some how I managed to break two nails really badly - one of them was from moving an empty box!  Yep.  That happened.  Luckily for me my swatch hand survived and really that's all that matters.  Anyway, as it is the end of the month I thought I would do my usual monthly favourites post.  With moving house there was limited blogging so this will be a pretty short post....I think.  Guess we will find out together.

Nail Art
As you would expect, nail art this month wasn't a focus sadly.  But I did do some nail art so that's better than some previous months.  These are my three favourites from September.

Stamping Plates
This month I played with some new plates from Uberchic and have introduced some new loves into my ever growing collection.

Uberchic Beauty Halloween 05 Stamping Plate
I think that every year Uberchic adds Halloween plates they end up in my favourites lists.  They do make the best Halloween plates.

While this plate arrived to me in Spring - I do love the images on this plate.

Mainstream Polishes
I have completely fallen off the mainstream bandwagon this month.  I haven't purchased any new mainstream polishes for months now.  Polish funds are a little tighter and in all honesty I haven't really fallen head over heels in love with.  That being said there is a new Essie collection that I am really liking the looks of.

Indie Polishes
Indie Polishes rule the world!  My favourite brands have done it again this month!  SO MUCH GOOD STUFF!

Emily de Molly September 2019 Releases
Emily de Molly have killed it again this month!  I mean they have always done amazing polishes (I've been a fan of the brand for many, many years) but basically since last year it's just one amazing release after the next!  Anyway, I could talk about how much I love EdM for ages but I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing it.  From the September release my favourites are The Morning Light, Riot Of Shadows, Left Turns, Everyday Is The Same, Crime Of Passion and Cake In A Crisis.  I seriously don't know how I am going to narrow down my favourites at the end of the year.

Grace-full Nail Polish Muggle Alchemy Collection
Grace-full have added another great collection to their range.  I am a big fan of this collection but there was really only three polishes that I would consider my absolute favourites - Pensieve, Moony and Our Hero.

Grace-full Nail Polish Toil And Trouble (Polish Pick Up September 2019)
Originally Toil And Trouble was a different polish (which I fell completely head over heels for!) but it wasn't released due to some formula issues (huge props to Theresa for doing this!).  Luckily for us Grace-full released an equally as gorgeous polish.

That wraps up all of my September favourites.  I need to sit down and work out some blog posts for October.  I feel like I am a little in a blogging rut at the moment.  But that could be because I have been so busy in regular life that it's thrown me off course.  Let me know if there is anything you would like to see on my blog.

Uberchic Beauty Halloween 05 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 26 September 2019

Halloween is fast approaching which reminds me that I need to find our Halloween decorations.  I promised our daughter that we would do Halloween decorations this year.  The only Halloween things I know where they are are my Halloween stamping plates.  Both old ones and the brand new one from Uberchic Beauty - Halloween 05 which I will be sharing with you today.

I absolutely love this cauldron layered image!  It's so cute!  I can see me reaching for it a lot throughout October/Halloween.  Anyway, for my base I used Emily de Molly Half Orange and stamped using Emily de Molly's black creme polish (the name is escaping me right now) and Hit The Bottle's Ectoplasm Green.

Technically this next mani I have done is actually the third mani I have done using this plate.  I have also done a mani using the bat image but it's with a polish that hasn't been released yet so you will need to check out my Instagram page in a week or so to see that one.  Anyway, I'm always drawn to skull images.  I thought for something different I would go for coloured skulls!  For my base I randomly sponged on Picture Polish Mad Magenta, Swagger, Totes, Chillax and Candy and stamped using the Emily de Molly black creme.  While I loved the glossy version of the mani I couldn't resist using Picture Polish G'day Matte top coat.

I love this Halloween plate!  There are so many great images on this plate and they stamp perfectly!  Now that I have some Halloween manis done I need to find some Halloween decorations.... Are you Halloween ready?

The Halloween 05 Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

Emily de Molly September 2019 Releases - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 22 September 2019

One of my favourite times of the month is when Emily de Molly has new releases and that is exactly what time it is.  Hayley makes the best polishes (both colours and formula wise) and this month is no exception.  Don't believe me, then let me show you!

Be Still And Know is a dark purple base with turquoise green micro flakes, rose pink holographic glitters and a strong coppery brown magnetic effect.  This polish is limited to one large batch.  I really like the shimmer and the magnetic effect in this polish.  The formula is great and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Cake In A Crisis is a neon green crelly base with gold chrome flakes.  I'm a big fan of this one!  It's such a cool colour and super bright.  The formula is fantastic and easy to use.  I used three coats for my swatch, however you can stop at two coats.

Crime Of Passion is a dark magenta pink base with pink to gold shifting foil type shimmer.  I'm sure that it comes at no surprise that I love this one!  It's gorgeous and the formula is awesome.  If you have short nails you could get away with one coat of this polish.  My swatch shows two coats.

Everyday Is The Same is a dark eggplant purple base filled with iridescent shifting flakes.  I love this one too!  It's such a gorgeous colour and the flakes are stunning.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch, but noted that I should have done three coats.  I did find that it was a see through at the tips in direct light - but let's keep in mind I am very fussy when it comes to these things.

Left Turns is a dark but vibrant blurple filled with iridescent shifting flakes.  Love this one too!  The formula is great and the colour and flakies are stunning!  I used two coats for my swatch.

Picking Petals is a pale duck egg blue/grey/green base with rose gold micro flakes.  This polish is limited to one large batch.  I think this is such a nice colour and I love the flakes.  They are a little subtle but they are definitely easier to see in person.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Riot Of Shadows is a dusty green base with a fine particle copper/gold/green aurora shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters.   I feel like I am basically saying the same thing throughout this post but it is what it is.  I love this polish!  I think it's so pretty and unique.  The formula is great and applies easily.  I used three coats for my swatch, but you can stop at two coats.

The Morning Light is a silver holographic micro glitters in a really pale green/grey base with fine particle pink/gold/green shifting aurora shimmer.  I love, love, love this one!  It's absolutely gorgeous and super sparkly!  The formula is a little on the sheer side but it builds up nicely and is easy to use.  I used three coats for my swatch.  Now there is a note that this polish may require two coats of top coat for a smooth finish but from memory I only used one coat.

If you can't tell by now that I love this collection then I don't know what else to say.  There are soooooo many awesome polishes (both formula and colour wise) I just love them all.

The September releases will be available Wednesday 25th September at 10am AEST from Emily de Molly's Australian site and on Tuesday 24th September at 8pm EDT on the international site.
