Emily de Molly Limited Edition Creme Polishes - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 6 April 2017

A couple of things that you guys will probably know about me is I love Emily de Molly polishes and I love creme polishes.  Put those two together and it's like heaven!  Well, my friends heaven is here!  Emily de Molly are releasing fourteen limited edition creme polishes.  There is also two free/bonus creme polishes but I'll get into that in a minute.

My review of these polishes is going to be a little boring and repetitive because the formulas across these polishes is fantastic!  A lot of these polishes you could easily get away with one coat because they apply so evenly and are quite opaque.

Bip, Bip, Bip is a yellow toned orange creme with a very subtle shimmer.   This is the only polish in this collection that has any form of shimmer but the shimmer is so subtle that you can barely see it on the nail.  It's definitely more noticeable in the bottle.  This one does apply a little unevenly on the first coat but evens out on the second coat.

Borrowed Time is a pale blue/green creme.  This is an absolutely gorgeous colour and the formula is fantastic.  My swatch shows two coats.

C.R.E.A.M is a forest green creme.  This is one of the polishes that you could really get away with one coat.  It really just depends on how fussy you are.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Eyes Only is a bright cornflower blue.  Another stunning colour with an awesome formula.  My swatch shows two coats.

Given The Givens is a dark indigo creme.  This is such a nice colour and again, you could easily get away with one coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

Hot Run is a brick red creme.  Did I mention that this review is going to be a little boring and repetitive?  Well, this polish has a fantastic formula and you could easily get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Jam Pony is a dark magenta pink creme.  I am sure it's going to be of no surprise when I say that I really like this one.  The colour is great and the formula is fantastic (yes it's close to being a one coater).  I used two coats for my swatch.

Love Among The Runes is a light pink creme with lavender undertones.  Gorgeous colour with a great formula.  My swatch shows two coats.

Monty Cora  is a light grey creme.  I think grey is a bit of a staple colour that everyone should have, especially these lighter shades of grey.  The formula of this one is great and so is the colour.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Original Cindy is a bright purple creme.  Hate it!  Ok that is a complete lie.  I am obsessed with this one.  The formula is awesome (so close to being a one coater), and the colour is to die for!  My swatch shows two coats.

Proof Of Purchase is a steel blue creme.  I think this is such a great colour and again the formula is fantastic.  You could easily get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Slackers, Bums And Weirdos is a tricky one to describe.  This one sits somewhere between a turquoise and aqua so I am going to call it taqua lol.  I really like the colour and again the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Terminal City is a dark grey creme.  Great formula, good colour.  I used two coats for my swatch.

X452 is a dark dusty purple with grey undertones.  Big fan of the colour!  This one is definitely a one coater, but I bumped a nail so used two coats for my swatch.

Right, now lets look at the bonus colours.

Picasso In My Cocktail.  This was originally part of this release, however it changes colours when you put top coat on it.  I have applied top coat to my pinkie and middle nails.  The formula of this one is fantastic, and close to being a one coater.  I really like the colour without top coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

Swing Error is another polish that was originally going to be part of this release, however it was removed due to application issues.  Hayley says that the formula is very thick and may require thinning prior to use.  I agree that the formula is thick, but it is still really easy to work with.  I didn't add any thinner to my bottle.  But let's talk about how bright this baby is?  It's so bright!  It actually hurt my eyes when I used it (I was sick at the time and my head was hurting already so take that into consideration).  I seriously love this polish and I hope that Hayley releases more neons!  I used two coats for my swatch.

I'm not really sure I need to tell you that I love these polishes.  I am sure you could guess that.  The formulas are fantastic and are so easy to work with and the colours are gorgeous!

  2. I've had a few big swatch posts haven't I? I will be having a big break from the big swatch posts because I am about to have a big run of nail art posts - from challenges, plates, vinyls and then it's Digit-al Dozen week next week. BUT then I'll be back with more swatching. I have quite a few new things that I have purchased that I really want to play with. I would LOVE for Hayley to do more neon polishes. I'm not sure it will happen but I really hope she does!
