OPI Love OPI, XOXO Collection - Swatches & Review

Monday 6 November 2017

It's officially holiday collection season at the moment and I am excited!  I do love this time of the year with all of the new polishes and stamping plates, plus it means that Christmas is right around the corner!  Speaking of Christmas I really need to get my butt into gear and get myself organized.  Anyway, today I have swatches and a review of OPI's holiday collection - Love OPI, XOXO.

Adam Said "It's New Years, Eve" is described as an apple red.  The formula is good and it applies really evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch, but question where I should have used a third.

Coalmates is a metallic charcoal with small amount of fine holographic glitters.  This one surprised me.  I had no clue that there was holo in it until I was taking a picture of the bottle for Instagram.  I quite like this one.  It's pretty and has a good formula.  My swatch shows two coats.

Feel The Chemis-tree is described as a purple shimmer.  I love this one!  It has a glow about it and the colour is gorgeous.  The formula is also fantastic, it applies evenly and is so close to being a one coater.  My swatch shows two coats.

Gift Of Gold Never Gets Old is a pale gold shimmer.  The formula is easy to use but it is on the sheer side and leaves visible brush strokes, which is expected for this type of polish.  I used three coats.

Holidazed Over You is described as a jet black creme, however to me it is a super dark navy blue.  On the first coat you can see that it's blue but then turns to looking more black on the second coat.  I personally like the colour on the first coat better, however it is uneven so you really need the second coat.

My Wish List Is You is described as the perfect holiday red.  I personally wouldn't call this the perfect holiday red, but that being said I don't really do red polishes all that often (unless they are sparkly reds - sparkly reds I like).  The formula is quite sheer but applies evenly.  I used three coats for my swatch and there is still a slight visible nail line.

Ornament To Be Together is a silver with a fine amount of holographic glitters.  I think this is quite pretty.  It is a little on the sheer side so I personally would wear it over a silver base.  My swatch shows four coats.

Sending Holiday Hugs is a fuchsia.  Now this polish says holidays more than My Wish List Is You.  I think it's really pretty and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Snow Glad I Met You is a white pearl.  This definitely is way to sheer for me.  I used for coats for my swatch and I still have a visible nail line.

The Color That Keeps On Giving is a pearlescent pink.  This one is sheer too.  For me, it would be better over a base colour.  I used three coats for my swatch and there is still a visible nail line.

Top The Package With A Beau is described as a grey with gold glitters.  I think this is quite interesting.  The formula is good and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Wanna Wrap? is described as a black burgundy.  I like this shade for the colder months.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

I have mixed feelings about this collection as a whole.  The formulas are a bit hit and miss, as are the colours.  That being said there are some great shades in this collection.  My personal favourites Feel The Chemis-tree, Coalmates, Sending Holiday Hugs, Wanna Wrap? and Ornament To Be Together.  What do you think of this collection?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Love OPI, XOXO Collection is available now from Myer and David Jones.
