Today we are taking a mini step back in time and revisiting some old school polishes that Glam Polish have released over the last few years for Halloween. Why? Well why not really? I made the decision a little while ago that I want to go through and swatch my polish collection. I figure seems Halloween is creeping us on slowly (well actually rather quickly) I thought it was a great opportunity for me to break out a lot of older Halloween Collections from various brands, starting with Glam Polish.
2013
I believe (and please don't quote me on this whatever you do) that there was four Halloween Polishes released in 2013. I only have three of the polishes. I am missing Frankenslime. I have no clue why I never purchased it either.
Blood & Bones has a clear base and has multiple sizes and shapes of black, white and red holo glitter and white skull glitters. This polish was part of the Graveyard Ghouls Trio. This polish is definitely unique in my collection. I believe I only have one other polish with skull glitters in it. I did have to do a little bit of fishing to get some of the bigger glitters out and did have trouble getting the skulls to sit flat (I blame my curved nails). My swatch shows one coat over Orly Up All Night and two coats of Seche Vite.

Bloody Hell was a limited edition exclusive polish for Mei Mei Signatures. Bloody Hell is a glitter topper filled with red, green, gold, purple and black glitters in various shapes and sizes. I really like the combination of glitters in this polish. It is pretty easy to use, although the glitters do really like to stick to each other. My swatch shows one coat of Gloss n' Co Kin.

Graveyard Smash is the other polish I own from the Graveyard Ghouls trio. This polish is a glitter topper filled with orange, purple, emerald and black matte and metallic glitters in various shapes and sizes. I really like this one. I think it is such a great combination of glitters. I did have trouble getting out the glitters so definitely would sponge this one on next time. I used one coat over Pretty Serious Cosmetics Absence.

2014
I'm really not sure exactly how many Halloween polishes Glam released in 2014 but I have two of them. Both of these polishes I have used before and have even included the pictures of them I did back in 2014.
Frankenslime 2014 is a green holo with small neon green and purple glitters. If my memory serves me correctly I actually grabbed this polish for the sole purchase of doing Frankenstein nail art. It really makes the perfect base for it. The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Snoopy The Witch is a glitter topper filled with purple, black, white and orange glitters in various shapes and sizes. This one I did need to do a little fishing for but other than that it applied pretty well. I love how different this polish looks over different base colours. For my swatch I used one coat of Essie Virgin Snow. For the nail art I did back in 2014 I used China Glaze Recycle.

As much as I love swatching and playing with brand new things I do quite like using some of these old polishes of mine and going back through my old manis from previous years (although that is kinda scary at the same time).
Did you buy any of these polishes when they were released?
This was fun! I loved some of those glitter toppers!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you liked it. I'm really enjoying wearing some of these older polishes again, especially glitter toppers. I use to live in them and now I barely touch them.
DeleteI love seeing older polishes! I don't have many old Glams, but I remember ogling some of the glitters :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like seeing older polishes. It's definitely good to dust them off and wear them again. Glam's glitters make up the bulk of my Glam collection. I fell head over heals for them <3
DeleteThis is such a fun post & I'm loving the older Glams the most. Those glitter bomb toppers are so fun. It's a shame you can't grab this years trio, however having all these will make up for it.

I love the old school Glam polishes! She made some awesome glitter polishes. I've come to peace with not being able to buy Glams and I am ok with it. Just means I have more money to buy other polishes :)
