101 Untrieds (Polishes 15 - 22)

Sunday 7 April 2019

Hello!  How are you?  I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  It's definitely been a busy one for me and no signs of it slowing down either, but that's ok.  That's what the school holidays are about.  Anyway, today I have some more untrieds of mine to share with you.  I'm finding some seriously gorgeous things in this collection of mine and I have barely scratched the surface.

Butter London Tart With A Heart has a clear base with gold microglitter and larger round iridescent glitters.  I originally fell in love with this polish back in 2011 when I saw it on Scrangie's blog.  In particular, I fell in love with it swatched over The Black Knight.  For whatever reason, I never got around to wearing it (in fact Butter London has never made an appearance on my blog until today).  Anyway, I love this polish!  It applies evenly and looks gorgeous over The Black Knight.  My swatch shows one coat over The Black Knight.

Butter London The Black Knight is a black base with multicolour microglitter.  I love this polish!  It's simple but so beautiful.  I was unsure if I had actually worn this polish before but after a long scroll through Instagram I found that I did in fact wear in once back in 2013.  Clearly I wear too many polishes (I say that as I sit here wearing ten different polishes - one for each nail lol).  Anyway, the formula of this is great and it is opaque in two coats.

Color Club Jingle Jangle has a blue tinted base with multicolored glitter in blues, purple and silver.  This stunner was released as part of the Beyond The Mistletoe Collection back in 2011.  I definitely didn't pick up this collection until after it's release - at what point, I have no idea.  I always pick up these polishes and think they look gorgeous but never get around to wearing them... until now.  This one was definitely too sheer for me so I ended up sponging it on.  My swatch shows one painted on coat and two sponged on coats.

Max Factor Fantasy Fire (original version) is one of those polishes that everyone wanted (or needed) back in the day.  I did grab myself a bottle but never actually wore it.  Strange I know.  I am just as shocked as you with this one.  Sadly, my bottle appears to have changed colour over the years.  Has anyone else's bottle done that?  Anyway, despite the colour change this polish is gorgeous!  It shifts beautifully and is easy to use.  I do need to wear this polish (and combo again).  My swatch shows one coat over Revlon Royal.

Models Own Golden Green is a golden green duochrome that shifts to a darker green and is part of the Beetle Juice Collection.  This collection was the first collection I ever owned from Models Own.  It's probably my least favourite from the collection (although to be fair I don't think I have worn most of the polishes so I probably should reserve judgement on them).  It is a little streaky and leaves visible brush strokes (which could be a lot worse) and it a little one the sheer side.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Revlon Royal is a royal blue jelly.  The only reason I purchased this polish was so I could wear it with Fantasy Fire.  Did I really need to buy it just for that purpose?  Nope.  I am sure I had other blues in my collection that would have done the tricky but it wouldn't have been the same.  This one does apply darker than I was expecting but it is quite a pretty colour.  It is uneven and sheer (as expected for a jelly) and needed three coats to cover the nail line.

Shimmer Tracy is a clear base gold glitter packed polish.  This polish was gifted to me by one of my best friends Margaret (aka @loveslacquer).  I feel like that I may have worn this polish before but I can't find any pictures of it which says to me that I haven't used it.  This is such a pretty and sparkly polish.  I thought it was going to be too sheer to wear alone but I think it might be opaque in probably three coats.  For my swatch I used one coat over Zoya Ziv.

Zoya Ziv is a gold foil with some silver.  This polish I am pretty sure I have worn at least a couple of times over the year but it's never been on my blog before so it totally counts as untried.  The formula is easy to use and applies evenly.  I used three coats for my swatch, however you can stop at two coats.  I used just found it a little see through at the tips for me.

That is all of the untrieds that I have been playing with this week.  I am hoping to have another untrieds post next week but it will depend on how much time I have.

  1. Thanks for the beautiful swatches. I own Revlon Royal for exactly the same reason, just as a base for Fantasy Fire haha

    1. LOL I am so glad I am not the only person to buy Revlon Royal to go under Fantasy Fire. Have you worn yours? If not, then you need to. It's gorgeous!
