Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge: Blue & Silver

Saturday 15 October 2016

Did I mention that I have plans on adding some more nail art to my blog?  If not, SURPRISE!  I have another nail art challenge to add to my blog.  While on my search for some ways to add more nail art I found this new challenge that was about to start and I thought why not jump on in.  It runs for pretty much a whole year (eek!) but it's only one mani a fortnight.  I can do that!  This challenge I believe is open to anyone who wants to join.  You don't need to be a blogger, you can just post your challenge manis on Instagram.

Today's (well technically yesterday's but given my time zone is ahead I figure posting today still fits in with a lot of the other time zones so let's just go with it) theme is blue and silver.  Now these are colours I don't normally put together so it was a bit of a stretch for me to think of something.  Luckily for me, I received some nail mail from Powder Perfect (I had to order more of the black and white stamping polishes) and just so happened to also be sent some of the newly released stamping plates to swatch and reviews (those blog posts will be coming very soon!).  Of course anything new needs to be played with immediately so I grabbed the Art Deco 01 plate.  Found the image I wanted and then decided that I wanted a blue gradient with silver stamping.  This isn't normally how I decide what I am doing for a mani but it worked for me this time.

For my base colours I used Essie Saltwater Happy and Pret-a-Surfer (over OPI Alpine Snow).  I then stamped the image from Powder Perfect's Art Deco 01 plate using their silver stamping polish.

One of the best things about doing nail art blog posts is I can share extra pics of my mani, including what the base looks like before I add anymore of stamping etc.  So here is what my gradient looked like before I stamped over it.  Oh and a macro of my gradient.  I don't think I have ever done a macro of a gradient before.  I really love these two blues together.  They are a match made in heaven.

Are you joining in on this challenge?  I'm excited for it and to discover some new blogs and IGers to follow.  I know I have found a few new people to follow via the Digit-al Dozen.  You can check out the other bloggers who are doing this challenge below and you can search for the IGers via the hashtags #crumpetsnailtarts and #26greatnailartideas.
