Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Round Up

When I was actively participating in nail art challenges on Instagram I would do a mani round up at the end of the month/end of the challenge.  I also did a round up blog post for the 31DC2017 challenge and thought why not do one for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge.  This challenge started on October 14 last year (I'm sure this is the longest running challenge I have ever done!) and finished up last Friday.  Right, let's take a look at all this manis.

I loved doing this challenge.  I think some of these manis are going to be making the list of my favourite nail art manis for this year.  Of course, there are a couple of questionable manis but they can't all be the greatest.

At this stage, I don't think that this challenge is going to be continuing, however there has been some chatter about it so fingers crossed.  If it does make a come back then I'll definitely be jumping on board again.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Your Signature Style

Today is the last day of the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge!  I can't believe that it is officially done.  Does any one know if there will be another 26GNAI challenge?  I have quite enjoyed this challenge and doing a mani every fortnight.  Anyway, the final theme is 'Your Signature Style'.  My first thought was to do a sponged background with stamping because they are my go to nail art at the moment, but then I was questioning if that would be considered my signature style.  I ended up asking Margaret what she would consider as my signature style and she said the sponged background.  It's nice to know that what I consider my signature style, someone else does too. 

I have always been (and will always be) a massive fans of neons so I just had to do a sponged neon background.  Polishes used are China Glaze That's Shore Bright, Bottoms Up, More To Explore and Daisy Know My Name?, and Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.  Stamping design is from Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 04 Stamping Plate.

I'm excited to see what everyone else does for this prompt.  Do you think this is my signature style or have I missed the mark on this theme?

Welcome to the post with officially the longest blog post title I have ever had.  I think.  It's definitely up there as one of the longest.  As you may be aware by now, I am currently doing a daily nail art challenge on top of my regular challenges and swatching and reviews.  To make this a little "easier" on me I am combining a few things where possible.  Like today's post.  The theme for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge is Autumn and I just so happen to have Uberchic's Lovely Leaves 02 stamping plate to review so I figured they go perfectly together in a post.

This is the mani I have done for the 26GNAI challenge.  For my base I sponged on OPI We The Female, Chop Sticking To My Story and Never A Dulles Moment and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.  I seriously love this mani and I think it's probably the best Autumn mani that I have ever done.

Now let's talk about Uberchic's Lovely Leaves 02 Stamping Plate.  This plate features a good mix of full sized, individual images and of course layering images all in beautiful leafy designs.  While I have used this for an Autumn mani, you could definitely use it for other seasons.

I really like this next image.  I think it's quite pretty and doesn't necessarily scream "leaves" to me.  For my base I used China Glaze Life's Grimm and stamped using Powder Perfect's Golden Stamping Polish.

I really like this plate.  It's not one that I would grab for on a daily basis (not that I grab for the same plate on a daily basis but you know what I mean) but it is perfect for challenge manis for me.

31DC2017: Red Nails & 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge: Dotting Tools But Not Just Dots

Welcome to the month of crazy (or more commonly known as September).  I'm kicking off this month with probably the craziest post I have done (which you can probably tell with the crazy heading on this post).  In case you weren't aware, this month I am going to be doing the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge (#31DC2017) on top of the other challenges I am doing and some swatching.  Crazy right?  Hopefully I will manage to keep some sanity this month lol.  Anyway, today is day one and theme is red nails.  Today I always need to do a mani for the 26 Great Nail Art Challenge theme of dotting tools but not just dots.  I have smooshed the two themes together to create this mani.

Originally I had planned on doing some sort of drag marble (I really don't know what else you would call it) but it was an epic fail so flowers it is.  Definitely not my greatest attempt, but I can only get better right?  Polishes used are China Glaze Definie Good and Passion and Color Club French Tip.

Crumpets's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge: The End Of Summer

I survived the Digit-al Dozen week for another month, but the nail challenges aren't quite over for this week.  This week is also another mani for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge.  The theme is the end of Summer.  It's actually Winter here in Melbourne (although we have had some decent-ish weather this week which has made me even more excited that we are approaching Spring!).  I was a little stuck on what idea I should go with and then it dawned on me - sunset!  Sunset's in summer are always so beautiful.

For my gradient I used Bundle Monster Quasar, Teepee Tipping and E-tronica.  I then for some strange reason thought it would be a good idea to freehand a palm tree.  It's definitely not the greatest freehand but I am sure it could have been a lot worse.  Lol.

It's really not long until I can say that I have successfully completed this challenge.

I am excited to see how others have interrupted this week's theme.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Colour Explosion

I am super excited for this week's 26 Great Nail Art Ideas mani.  The theme is "colour explosions" and who doesn't love a heap of colour in a mani? Melbourne has switched back to Winter mode so I thought it was a great time to break out the neon polishes again. 

For my base I used China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle, Bottoms Up, That's Shore Brite, Daisy Know My Nail, Sun Of A Peach and Highlight Of My Summer. If you want to see how I did this mani, I have a tutorial for it here.

Now I had originally planned on stamping some fire work images over the top but to be honest I didn't want too. I love the base how it is and it is still an explosion of colour so it fits the theme still.

I can't believe that there are only four more themes left for this challenge!  Any ideas what I should do for the "end of summer" theme?

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge: Sunshine

One of the things that annoys me a little about doing nail art challenges is that they usually have weather related themes.  I feel like I have a string of beach, ocean, summer, sunshine etc manis and they are completely opposite to what is going on for my weather in Melbourne.  It's super cold, dark, cloudy and raining.  Ahhh!  I'm so jealous of those of you with some nice warm sun.  Anyway, enough complaining (I blame the miserable weather lol).  Today I have another mani for the 26 Great Nail Art Challenges - Sunshine.

I went with a very minimalist sun look (it's just like Melbourne - minus the blue skies).  For my base I used Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau and stamped using Colour Alike B A Lemonade.  Stamping design is from Uberchic Beauty Vacation Mode stamping plate.

I'm really looking forward to the next theme.  Zero clue what I am going to do for it, but I am excited!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Beach Or Animal Silhouettes

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope all have had a good week this week.  It's school holidays for my daughter so we have been doing a few fun bits and pieces, and will be spending the weekend visiting different people which will be lots of fun.  Anyway, it's time for another mani for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge that I am doing.  The theme is Beach or Animal Silhouettes.  I originally had planned on doing a beach theme but then realized that I have a beach themed mani for another challenge next week.  

For my gradient I used Grace-full Nail Polish Lemon, Mango and Raspberry (all from the Fruit Salad Collection) and then stupidly stamped with Mundo de Unas Black Stamping Polish.  Why do I say stupidly?  MdU stamping polishes (especially the black) just doesn't agree with me.  It always bleeds/looks hairy.  I have absolutely no idea why.  I have tried different stampers, scrapers, pressure and angle when scraping, plates, the amount of polish I use.....I have tried everything I can think of and I always get the same result.  Note to self: use Powder Perfect's stamping polish.  It's the best!  Stamping design is from Bundle Monster BM-XL204.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Going On A Holiday

Happy end of the week everyone! I have a few things happening this weekend so I am using my time wisely tonight (it's Friday for me now but by the time I post this it will be Saturday). My daughter has gymnastics practice on a Friday night for two hours which I stay at, so thought why not use this time to write my blog post? It means I have extra time later to do some more manis. 

Anyway, it's time for another 26 Great Nail Art Ideas mani. This time the theme is "going on a holiday". I don't really go on holidays, in fact I was laughed at when I said that my trip to Sydney for Aussie Indie Con was a holiday.  I had originally planned to do a destination mani but I just so happened to received Uberchic Beauty's new Vacation Mode stamping plate and the OPI California Dreaming Collection. Put those things together and I am going somewhere with warmer weather.... and pretty flowers. 

For my gradient I used OPI Malibu Pier Pressure and GPS I Love You. For the stamping I used Powder Perfect's White Stamping Polish and Colour Alike B. a Sunshine. 

I'm happy with how this mani turned out. I can't wait to see what everyone else does for this theme.  I sense that I will be adding some more destinations to my wishlist.
