Picture Polish New Collaborations & Neon Polishes - Swatches & Review

Sunday 9 July 2017

It's quite some time since I have purchased any shades from piCture pOlish.  Not because I don't like their shades but simply because my polish budget isn't as big as my wishlist.  You know how that feels I am sure.  There is one particular shade that was recently released that 100% went to the very top of my list that I had to have.  Haven!  This one has very special meaning to me.  Everyone in the polish community have little goals or things that they would love to achieve, whether it be working with a particular brand, gaining x amount of followers etc.  Margaret (aka Loves Lacquer) has been collecting piCture pOlish polishes since forever and had dreamed of having her very own collaboration polish with piCture pOlish - and it has happened!!  I couldn't be more happy for Margaret and naturally needed to purchase her shade.  I also have a thing about "safety in numbers" so had to pick up a few other shades while I was there.

Collaboration shades
There are actually six new collaboration shades that have just been released.  There are a couple that I am not a fan of (they just aren't my type of colours) and then some my budget just couldn't stretch for.  I did pick up two of my favourites.

Haven is described as a sandy scattered holo.  I think this is such a beautiful shade (and I am not just saying that because I am friend's with Margaret).  It's delicate and has a nice sparkle to it.  Great to wear on it's own or as a base for nail art.  The formula is easy to use, however it is a little on the sheer side.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Tasha is described as a lilac grey scatter holo with violet glass flecks and is made in collaboration with BadGirlNails.   This polish is definitely my sort of polish.  It's so pretty and I love the glass flecks.  My camera did struggle to pick them up (you can see them better in the bottle) but you can definitely see them in person.  The formula of this one is quite sheer but it is easy to work with.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Neon shades
I have been eyeing off the neon polishes from piCture pOlish for some time now and now was the perfect time for me to grab them.  I do love a good neon!

Crazy is a neon yellow.  Now this polish is bright!  It's definitely the brightest of the three neons.  This polish does apply unevenly, and needed three coats to even out.

Fake Tan is a neon orange.  This one does apply a little unevenly and you can nearly get away with two coats.  I used three coats.

Lime Lite is a neon green.  This one isn't as bright as I originally thought it was going to be.  I have no clue why I was expecting it to be brighter.  Anyway, the formula is quite sheer but easy to work with.  I used three coats, however I think it needs a forth.  Next time I would definitely wear this over a white base.

I did also pick up the Matte top coat but I haven't actually tried it yet.  I actually forgot about it until now.  Oops.  Clearly I have moved on slightly from the matte phase I was in a few months ago.  Anyway, I really love each of the shades that I grabbed.  Which one is your favourite?

All the polishes in this post are available now from piCture pOlish.

  1. Beautiful swatches!!You'll be shocked to learn I'm umming and ahhing about whether to get Haven or Lakodom as I actually really fancy a pretty neutral base like these! Have you got Lakodom? I'm surprised you didn't find Lime Lite that bright. I think batches must alter somewhat as mine is eye searingly bright! The most neon green in my collection probably and that's saying something!

    1. Thanks Claire. I don't have Lakodom so I can't compare them, but Haven is stunning in person. Nice and neutral and sparkly.

Lime Lite definitely isn't that bright. I mean if it was put over white then it would be brighter but I have China Glaze and Color Club neon greens that are definitely much brighter. It's still a good polish though.

  2. Quite liking the look of Tasha! I've got my eye on some of the more aquatic shades that PP have released in recent months (Oasis, Surf & Soul).

    1. Tasha is stunning! It's definitely much pretty in person than in pictures. I think she must be a little camera shy. There have been some gorgeous aquatic shades being released. It's seriously so hard to keep up with everything.

  3. These are gorgeous! I adore PP polishes, I only have a few which were sent to me by a friend who also did a collab with them which was amazing! Naturally I adored her polish haha (not biased at all) Haven is such a lovely unique shade!

    1. PP do great polishes don't they? Which collab polish do you have? I think my PP collection lacks quite a few of the collab shades. If only money grew on trees....

    2. Oh duh sorry *slaps forehead* may have helped if I said haha! It was Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake's collab with them called Frosting? I'll be using it in a mani soon on my blog along with some other shades from PP, haha yes if only!

      Love Aysh xox

    3. Oh Frosting is such a cute shade. I'm not if I have it or not though. I think my collection is at the point where I really don't know what I do and don't have. It's bad!

  4. Picture Polish is another one of those I'd love to try but can't afford. Haven is a gorgeous shade & im glad you also picked Tasha up. I'm not a fan of some of the other collab shades this round, but it's always nice to see what bloggers create! This neons lol fab, just a shame the formulas were so thin. For what you pay I'd expect a little better.

    1. I wish I could send polishes to you. There would be a heap that I know you would love. Silly laws! Lol. Haven and Tasha are both gorgeous. I think the price is reasonable (especially for Australian polishes - we are expensive here). I personally would love if all polishes were 1-2 coats (with the exception of jellies - I am happy with 2-3 for them).
