Grace-full Nail Polish Hella Handmade Creations November 2018 - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 11 November 2018

It's Hella Handmade Creations time again!   This will be my last HHC post for 2018!  Why you may be wondering?  I rarely buy polishes from the Hella Handmade Creations group and with the combination of my daughter's birthday and Christmas funds are a little tight which means I will be very limited in what polishes I can buy.  With all that being said, I have this month's polish from Grace-full Nail Polish.  This will be Grace-full's last polish for HHC for 2018 as well (yet another reason why this will be my last HHC post for 2018).

Paradise Island is a red linear holographic with gold shimmer.  This polish is inspired by Wonder Woman.  If you don't already know, I am not really a fan of red nails.  This one I will make an exception for.  It's a gorgeous colour!  Plus the formula is awesome - it's super close to being a one coater.  I used two coats for my swatch.

If you are a red fan or even just looking for a nice red polish for Christmas then I definitely recommend this one.

Paradise Island will be available for presale on November 14th until November 21st from Hella Handmade Creations. This polish is capped to 80 bottles so you will need to be quick to grab yourself a bottle.

Uberchic Beauty Moroccan Delight Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Friday, 9 November 2018

Uberchic are smashing out some awesome plates at the moment and I couldn't be happier.  Earlier this week I shared with you the new Art Deco Flair plate (you can find that post here if you missed it) and today I have my favourite of the two new plates - Moroccan Delight.  Now don't get me wrong I love the Art Deco Flair plate but if I could only pick one of the plates this would definitely be my pick.  Let's take a look at it shall we?

Image from Uberchic Beauty
Some times when I look at a plate I gravitate towards a couple of images, this plate however I didn't.  I want to use ALL the images!  Because I didn't have any image in mind to use first I didn't have a mani in mind.  Instead I decided to grab some polishes (I went for blues and oranges) and this is what I ended up with.  I love this mani!  Polishes used are Emily de Molly Bright Retreat, China Glaze Athlete Chic, More To Explore. Water-Falling In Love, Wait N' Sea and UV Meant To Be.  Stamping polish is Hit The Bottle Snowed In.

This next mani is another mani that I love!  Again, I struggled to decide what image to use before I started this mani.  For this mani I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Fluffykins, Peachie Poo, Bon Bon, Cutie Patootie, Little Duckling and Bunny Foo-Foo, and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

I'm not sure there are any other ways that I can say that I love this plate!  It's hands down one of my favourite Uberchic plates that I have....that is a big call.  I have a lot of Uberchic plates.  I'm confident that this plate will end up in my favourites at the end of the year.  What do you think of this plate?

The Moroccan Delight Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

Uberchic Beauty Art Deco Flair Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 7 November 2018

Hello!  Long time no chat.  Well at least it seems like it's been a long time.  It's been a bit of a crazy start to this month (and there really is no signs of it slowing down....for the rest of the year!) so nails have had to take a little bit of a back sit.  But never fear, I am still here and posting.  There may just be some slightly longer gaps in between my posts.  Anyway, today I have my swatches and review of the new Uberchic Beauty Art Deco Flair Stamping Plate to share with you.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
For some strange reason I automatically started thinking about black and gold nails looking at this plate.  No idea why but I absolutely love how these turned out.  Can we just talk about how perfectly this image stamped?  For my base I used China Glaze Merry Whatever and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

This next mani didn't quite turn out how I was hoping.  It definitely looked much better in my head.  If you take away the colour - this image is super cool in black and white.  I seriously love it and am planning on doing it as a full mani soon.  Polishes used for this mani are Emily de Molly Bright Retreat, Color Club Hello Sunshine, Darling Clementine, Flushed and Tube Top, and stamped using Powder Perfect Black Stamping Polish.

I love this plate!  I think there are so many really cool designs on it and I am really excited to keep playing with it some more.

The Art Deco Flair Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 3 November 2018

Hello weekend!  I don't know about you guys but I am happy that the weekend is here.  That being said the weekends seem to be popping up really quickly at the moment.  I guess that is just what happens this time of year.  Soon it will be school holidays and then Christmas!  Speaking of Christmas.  Today I have the new Holiday Collection from China Glaze - The Grinch Collection to share with you.

Deliciously Wicked is a blue pearl base with silver holographic glitter.  I am on the fence with this one.  When I first put it on I really didn't like it but then over time it grew on me.  I think it's the pearl blue base that throws me off.  It is very sparkly polish which I like especially for the festive season ahead.  The formula is on the sheer side and this polish is an absolute pain to remove.  It's definitely one of the most difficult glitter polishes I have removed in some time.  My swatch shows three coats.

Grinchworthy is a green shimmer.  This polish is soooo sparkly.  I only swatched this at night so I can only imagine how sparkly it will be in the sunlight.  Anyway, I am not much of a green fan but I quite like this one!  The formula is good and appeals evenly.  You can stop at two coats, however it seemed to be a little see through at the tips for me so I used three coats for my swatch.

Ho! Ho! No is a red base with golden glitter throughout.  When I think Christmas polishes my thoughts always go straight to red and gold polishes.  The formula of this one is great.  It's easy to use and is opaque in two coats.

Lukewarm Wishes is described as a white blue shimmer.  As you can imagine this polish is quite sheer.  I don't think I could ever get it opaque enough for my liking (I imagine you will still see a visible nail line at three coats).  As a topper though, I love this polish!  I think it would look so pretty of different colours.  I am definitely looking forward to playing around with it some more.  For my swatch I used one coat over black.

Merry Whatever is a champagne gold glitter.  This one is quite sheer.  I would definitely use it over a base colour next time.  The formula is easy to use but I did find it is slow drying.  I used three coats for my swatch, however it still has a slight visible nail line.

Resting Grinch Face is described as a multi green and red glitter.  To me it looks like it's blue, green and gold (and maybe a little bit of silver - or maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me).  Whatever the colour mix is I really like this glitter.  I assumed that this polish was going to be very base heavy so I used it over a black base.  I was very pleasant surprised at the glitter pay off.  This polish could probably be opaque in three coats.  I used one coat for my swatch.

Who Wonder is described as a hot pink shimmer.  Naturally I love this polish.  The colour is gorgeous and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch but I kinda question if I should have done a third coat.

You're A Mean One is described as a purple shimmer.  Love this polish too.  It's perfect for the cooler weather (which we aren't having at the moment).  The formula is fantastic and is opaque in two coats.

Overall, I am a big fan of this collection.  I think there is such a good mix of colours and finishes.  I also love that the polishes don't necessarily scream Christmas which means they can be worn all year round.  My personal picks from this collection are Who Wonder, You're A Mean One, Lukewarm Wishes and Resting Grinch Face.

Grace-full Nail Polish Polish Pick Up November 2018 - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 1 November 2018

Happy November!  I can't believe that it's November already!  This year is going to be coming to a close so soon.  I'm not sure I am prepared for that or for how busy these next couple of month's are going to be.  But let's see if I can keep up with myself.  I have a lot of new things (both polishes and stamping plates) to play with so hopefully there will be plenty of blog posts coming.  Starting with today.  Today I have this month's Grace-full Nail Polish Polish Pick Up polish.

So What is a black to pink/purple thermal with ultra chrome chameleon flakes and micro glitter.  This polish is inspired by P!nk!  How awesome is P!nk?  I love her and my daughter wants to grow up and be just like her.  I'm a big fan of this polish too.  I like both of the transition colours (and the transition well) and the formula is fantastic.  I used two coats for my swatch.

So What will be available via the Polish Pick Up from Friday 2nd November at 11am EST until Monday 5th November.  This polish is capped to 150 bottles so the question is, are you going to be quick enough to grab a bottle for yourself?

October 2018 Favourites

Wednesday, 31 October 2018

Don't you just hate when you nearly complete a blog post and then your computer dies and you lose everything?  This just happened to me with this post!  Ahhh!  I desperately need a new computer.  Anyway, it is officially the end of October which means it's time for my monthly favourites!  I'm sure these posts pop up quicker and quicker.  Soon I will seriously have to start narrowing down all of my favourites for my end of year posts.  Eek!  I know this is going to be a hard job because there has been so many amazing things released this year.

Nail Art
I think that this will be the first time EVER that I haven't had any monthly nail art favourites.  This month I haven't really done much nail art and what I have done I have liked but I don't think there is anything that I have done that I would consider a favourite so I'm skipping over this section of favourites for the first time ever.

Stamping Plates
A lack of nail art usually means that I haven't really been playing with too many stamping plates which is definitely the case this month.  I think I only did two maybe three posts with stamping plates.  Next month will be a different story.  I have lots of new plates to play with.  Anyway, I do have one favourite plate for this month - Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 08.  I have always been a big fan of these plates and this one is no exception.  There are a heap of great designs.

Stamping Polishes
This month I got to play with six new stamping polishes from Hit The Bottle and it's safe to say that I love them.  They all stamp perfectly over both black and white.  What's not to love about that?

Indie Polishes
Surprisingly enough I don't have any mainstream favourites this month (well I haven't shared any mainstream polishes that I love this month - November will be another story).  The indie girls have knocked it out of the park again this month.  So many pretties!

Emily de Molly Facebook Group Exclusives
This month EdM released three more Facebook Group Exclusives.  While I really like all three only two of them I consider my favourites - Opal Illusion and Beyond The Horizon.

Emily de Molly Halloween Trio
I do love Halloween polishes.  There is always so many interesting polishes that come out.  Take The Greater Good for example.  It's so good!  I also really love Triple Trouble as well.

Emily de Molly October Releases
Along with a few special releases, EdM also did their regular monthly release and of course there are quite a few that stole my heart.  My favourites are Sea Of Lies, Glitters Reign, Today At Noon, The World Belongs To Us and Electric Arc.

Glam Polish It Collection
I had the pleasure of swatching the IT Collection from Glam Polish.  There are some really good polishes in this collection.  My personal favourites are Dead Lights and We All Float Down Hard!

Grace-full Nail Polish Christmas 2018 Collection
Christmas is seriously just around the corner (which in itself is crazy) which means Christmas polishes are being released.  Woohoo!  I do love Christmas polishes and Grace-full have a great collection this year.  My personal favourites are Frosty, Golden Rings and Winter Wonderland.

Grace-full Nail Polish Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum Collection
Grace-full definitely have been busy with their releases this month and naturally I end up with quite a few in my favourites post.  My favourites from this collection are Son Of Jacob, Guardians, May The Lord Open and Good Weather.

That brings October to an end.  Now roll on November for all the new pretties I have to play with.

What are somethings you have been loving this month?

Hit The Bottle Halloween & New Stamping Polishes - Swatches & Review

Monday, 29 October 2018

Yesterday I shared my swatches and review of Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 08 stamping plate (which is also available from the Hit The Bottle website) and in that post I shared a little sneak peek of some stamping polishes I received to swatch.  Normally when I do swatches of stamping polishes I do them over a black and white base but I was inspired by Serene's (Copycat Claws) epic Hit The Bottle post (which you can find here if you missed it) to switch it up.  I loved that Serene also shows the stamping polish on a full nail so I have totally copied her.  Her post also makes me want to re do all of my swatches of my stamping polish collection from Hit The Bottle.  I'm definitely not doing that today.  Today I have my swatches and review of the new Halloween themed stamping polishes as well as three stand alone stamping polishes.

Halloween Themed Stamping Polishes
Let's start of with the Halloween themes polishes first.  Why?  Well why not?  There are three polishes in this collection.

Beware The Bates Motel is a rich, warm, mid-toned blue polish with a shimmery creme finish.  The shimmer is really subtle in this polish but it is really pretty.  As you can see from my swatch this polish stamps beautifully over both like and dark polishes.  In terms on wearing it on the full nail it is completely opaque in one coat, however I did experience some splitting when I applied top coat so needed two coats for my swatch.

Peaches 'n Scream is a pale yet bright peach/coral polish with a creme polish.  Now I didn't pay too much attention to this colour when I applied it but I did noticed that it appears to be a different colour on the nail than it is in the bottle.  I have a feeling that top coat effects this.  Either way it is a nice colour and great for the warmer months.  Again it stamps beautifully over both light and dark colours.  My swatch shows one coat on the full nail.

Slime After Slime is a bright lime green polish with a creme finish.  I really do sound like a broken record here (sorry I don't mean to) but this polish stamps well over black and white.  I also used one coat for the full nails.

New Polishes
Now onto the three new polishes.  I'm not entirely sure when these were released but they are all really pretty and are great addictions to anyone's collection.

Banana Colada is a bright yellow creme polish.  This is perfect for summer!  Personally I prefer this one over black (or any darker colour) but it does work over white.  In terms over wearing it on it's own - it is opaque in one coat however the formula is quite tricky to work with.

Bronzed Aussie is a soft metallic bronze polish.  In true metallic form, this doesn't photograph well.  It is so much nicer in person.  It's such a great colour, stamps well over black and white and is opaque in one coat.

Whiskey Latte is a pale creme/buff creme polish.  I have been looking for a good creme polish for such a long time!  I am excited to play with this one some move over other colours.  As you can see it stamps beautifully over black and white and is opaque in one coat.

I am a huge fan of these polishes.  In true Hit The Bottle style these polishes all stamp beautifully over both light and dark colours.  I'm not 100% sure if I would wear a lot of these as a full manis but that is what regular polish is for isn't it?

All of these polishes are available now from Hit The Bottle.
