Polish Pick Up Rewind July 2021 featuring Emily de Molly, Grace-full Nail Polish & Hit The Bottle

Friday, 2 July 2021

This month for Polish Pick Up they are doing a rewind where each maker brings back some of their previous PPU shades.  I thought why not grab the ones that I have previously swatched and reviewed and put them together in one post.  As someone who doesn't spend much time on Facebook I know how easily things can get lost in the PPU group so hopefully this post will help out.  Now disclaimer - I was previously sent all of the polishes for review purposes when they were initially released (and my swatches are from then too) but I wasn't asked by anyone to do this post.  In fact, they don't even know that I am doing this post.  To save everyone some time I am going to cut and past my reviews as well.  So without further ado, let's take a step back in time...

EMILY DE MOLLY

Alive By Magic is a dark red jelly base filled with red to green shifting shimmer.  The glitters predominately show red/orange and gold with some green showing up on extreme angles.  I absolutely love the glitters in this polish!  And for a red it's really nice (I'm not much of a red polish fan).  The formula of this is fantastic and easy to use.  You can easily stop at two coats, however it was a little see through at the tips for me - plus the extra coat of polish gives it more of that squishy look which I love!  My swatch shows three coats.

Late Night Blooms is a purple base filled with pink/purple/green aurora shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters.  OMG I am OBSESSED and completely head over heels in love with this polish.  The colour is amazing and so is the shift, and the formula is fantastic.  It is easy to use and applies evenly.  Now for some strange reason I didn't write in my notes how many coats I used but I have a feeling my swatches are three coats - but it is a polish that you can stop at two coats with.

GRACE-FULL NAIL POLISH

Brainard's Goo is a vibrant green to gold aurora shimmer.  This is such a cool polish.  It's a great colour and it shifts so well too.  The formula is easy to use but it is a little sheer on the first coat.  I found that it built up beautifully on the second coat, however it was still a little see through at the tips so I added a third coat.

Mount Wellington is a multichrome with aurora shimmer that moves through blue, teal and purple.  This polish is super shifty and just gorgeous.  I love it.  The formula is great and applies easily.  I used three coats for my swatch.

HIT THE BOTTLE

Guilded Mystique is described as a slate blue polish with a pale gold to silver sheen.  I love this polish.  It's such a gorgeous colour.  The formula is also amazing!   It only requires one coat (which is what I used for my swatch) and it stamps!

Hit The Bottle do have a second shade called Colliding Of The Realms but unfortunately I don't own that polish to share swatches and my review.

All of these beauties will be available from the Polish Pick Up from July 2nd until July 5th.

Hit The Bottle She Dreams In Plaid (Polish Pick Up April 2021) - Swatches & Review

Monday, 29 March 2021

 PRESS SAMPLE

Over the weekend it occurred to me that Easter is in fact this week!  My brain still has me thinking that Easter is weeks away and that we are still at the beginning of March.  But nope.  April is just days away and so is April's Polish Pick Up.  I have three of the shades from the Aussie indie brands to share with you - starting with Hit The Bottle's She Dreams In Plaid.

She Dreams In Plaid is a royal blue jelly base with iridescent pink to orange shifting flakes and sky blue galaxy holo glitters.  I loooooove the colour of this one and the mix of flakies in here.  It's truly gorgeous.  The formula is also great and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Seriously how gorgeous is this polish?  Michelle also swatched it with a matte top coat and I am kicking myself that I didn't do a matte version too.  I really should grab out the matte top coat more often.

She Dreams In Plaid will be available via the Polish Pick Up from April 2nd to April 5th.  This polish is capped to 325 USA, 25 UK and 25 Australia so definitely grab it as soon as you can.

Hit The Bottle Feathered Finery - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 24 March 2021

 PRESS SAMPLE

Today I have a super exciting polish to share with you.  I originally saw this in the Hit The Bottle Facebook group and fell in love.    It also didn't disappoint when I saw it in person either....well actually there was one thing that did disappointment me.  It doesn't photograph as well as I would have liked.  I'm sure there is more colour changes in person than what I can see in my swatches.

Feathered Finery is a multichrome polish that shifts through an array of colours - from black, to blue-black to burgundy to mageneta.  It also has contrasting flakies shifting from green, to blue to pink and a sprinkling of holo blue glitters.  This polish is amazing.  Straight up amazing!  I love everything about it.  Like I mentioned before this polish is so much better in person.  The formula is great and really easy to use.  For my swatch I used two coats.

How amazing is this polish?  I highly recommend it if you like multichrome polishes.

Feathered Finery is available now from Hit The Bottle.

Hit The Bottle Henry's Hijinx - Swatches & Review

Monday, 22 March 2021

 PRESS SAMPLE

I don't tend to buy too much nail polish or nail art supplies these days (mainly because my nail time is filled with swatching things for different brands which I am very grateful for) but every now and again there is something that grabs my eye that I need.  That was Hit The Bottle's March Polish Pick Up shade (I will be swatching that in the future).  While I was there I also grabbed some stamping plates - you know because you can't just buy one polish.  Anyway, when my package arrived I was surprised by a few other polishes to swatch for Michelle.  Before I get to swatching the things I purchased I have the polishes that Michelle sent me to share with you first.  Starting with Henry's Hijinx.

Henry's Hijinx is a multichrome polish that shifts from a rich burnt copper to a golden-green to an olive green, and a touch of linear holo.  I quite like this polish.  It has such a great shift to it and I like the added holo to it.  The formula is great and applies evenly.  I used two coats for my swatch.
