It Girl Nail Art IG113 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 22 December 2018

It's here!  My very last swatch and review post for 2018!  Next week I will have all of my "favourites".  I am both excited and a little terrified of trying to work out my favourites from the entire year but it has become a little bit of a tradition over the last couple of years so I need to keep it up.  Plus it is fun to look back over all the goodies that the year has brought.  Anyway, I thought that It Girl's IG113 stamping plate was the perfect plate to end the year on as it is filled with all these gorgeous Christmas images.

I do love snowflake manis.  I think they are so pretty.  This snowflake image intrigued by.  There is quite big spaces between each so I wanted to see how it looked on the nails.  This one probably better as a pond mani or any sort of layered mani.  Or perhaps as a background with some other imagery over the top.  For my base I used China Glaze Water-falling In Love, Capacity To See Beyond and DJ Blue My Mind.  Stamping polish is Hit The Bottle Snowed In!

I think most years (if not every year) I do some holly nails.  I just think they are so pretty.  This image is slightly different to the other holly images I have, and it is definitely more delicate.  For this mani I used Grace-full Nail Polish Silver And Gold, Christmas Green Tint and Red Tint.

How great are the images on this plate?  I really like it for a Christmas plate.  Have you planned out your Christmas mani yet?  I know I haven't.  Better get onto that.

It Girl Nail Art IG117 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 15 December 2018

I was sitting down with my blog planner the other week trying to make sure that I had included all the things I need to before jumping into all of my favourites posts.  Well it turns out that I had forgotten that I had two more stamping plates from It Girl Nail Art that I hadn't actually used yet.  One of them happens to be a Christmas plate so yay!  I will be sharing that one with you next week.  Today I have the IG117 plate to share with you.

This first image is so cool.  It just screamed that it needed some form of neon base and who was I to say no?  I do wish that I added a little more colour though, but I still love this mani.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Bright Retreat, and dried brushed on Color Club Having A Ball and All Dolled Up.  I stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish and finished the mani off with Picture Polish's G'day Matte.

I think this next image is so pretty that I just had to use it.  I was kinda going for a sparkly night like mani.  For my base I used Grace-full Nail Polish Deep Dark Magic (which I layered over black) and stamped using Hit The Bottle Bubblegum Bliss, Apricot Sour, Iced Mauve-jito, Lemon Meringue Fizz, Peppermint Zombie and Arctic Cloudberry.

This plate definitely has some pretty cool images on it and it stamps well.

It Girl Nail Art Mini Stamping Plates (IG301, IG306 & IG307) - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 21 October 2018

It Girl Nail Art stamping plates are definitely a new brand that has ended my every growing stamping plate collection.  I don't have many but I am so impressed with the quality of them.  I do have a couple more plates that I still haven't used (yet) but I am excited to try them.  Anyway, today I have three of their mini stamping plates to share with you.

IG301
I love floral images!  They are always among some of my favourite images to put on my nails.  Do a buffet style plate full of floral images and you know that I am going to love it!

I wanted to do something bright and fun for this plate.  I was going to go for my traditional sponged background (which I wish that I did do) but instead did a smoosh mani.  I don't hate this mani but I think it could have been a lot better.  Polishes used are Color Club Study Buddy, Cliff Notes, All Dolled Up, Tic-Tac-Toe and Playdate.

IG306
I think this is such an interesting plate.  It's kinda got three different images on it.  I like the two larger images, but I am not sure I would use the long image (on the bottom right of the plate).

I think this lace design is one of those designs that speak for itself.  No fancy backgrounds required.  For my base I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Presence and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

IG307
Again, a floral buffet style plate that I really like.  I like that this is more a delicate style of plate.

Keeping it simple for this next mani.  Polishes used are China Glaze Too Much Of A Good Fling, I'd Melt For You and Silver Of Sorts.

As I mentioned earlier, I am so impressed with the quality of the plates from It Girl.  They all stamp perfectly.  I think there are some great images on these mini plates, however for me personally I think I prefer larger plates.  They offer more of a range of images and I find are a little bit easier.  Or perhaps I am just more use to using the extra large plates these days.

Have you tried It Girl plates before?

It Girl Nail Art IG102 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 28 June 2018

HELLO!!!  Is anyone still there?  I am so sorry for my absence.  I have been so unbelievably busy and have had to cut back on my nail time (which also includes things like editing photos etc), but I am back!  I definitely can't guarantee how many posts I will be able to do each week as they will depend on how busy I am with work and life commitments.  I do have plenty of things to share with you guys in July so stay tuned!  There is some good things coming!  Today I thought I would share with you It Girl's IG102 stamping plate.

I did both of these manis quite some time ago now and to be honest with you I have no clue which one I did first.  Luckily I remember exactly what I used.

For this mani I used Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue and stamped using Powder Perfect's White Stamping Polish.  I then thought it would be fun to add a matte top coat.  I loved the matte version of this mani (as well as the glossy).

The base of this mani I actually did as part of the Digit-al Dozen's Re-creation week.  My freehand stripes are far from perfect but with stamping over the top I am a huge fan!  For my base I used the entire Fruit Salad Collection from Grace-full Nail Polish and stamped using Hit The Bottle's As Black As Night.

Overall I really like this It Girl plate.  I think the designs are quite cool and they stamp really well.  I can see me getting quite a bit of use out of it.

IG102 is available from It Girl Nail Art.

It Girl Nail Art IG101 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 28 April 2018

Happy weekend everyone! It really doesn't feel like the weekend to me (we had a public holiday on Wednesday so it has thrown me out with what day of the week it really is).  This weekend is quite a busy one for us so I imagine it is going to fly by but it will be a fun weekend so no complaints there.  Today I have another It Girl Stamping Plate to share with you.  This is the IG101 stamping plate.

Sometimes when I am swatching polishes I either a) don't want to take the polish off or b) get inspired to do some nail art over it.  Well this polish fell into both of those categories.  I really love how this mani turned out.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Sample 598 and stamped using Essie's Penny Talk.

I had a lot of fun with this next mani and love the result.  This is one mani I could happily wear for a week (maybe - a week is quite a commitment for me when it comes to nails).  Polishes used are Color Club French Tips (base), Out Of The Blue and Darling Clementine.

Big fan of this stamping plate.  There are some really cool designs and they stamp well.

The IG101 plate is available now from It Girl Nail Art.

It Girl Nail Art IG107 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 22 April 2018

It occurred to me the other day that I have a bunch of It Girl stamping plates sitting in my pile of stamping plates waiting for me to swatch them.  I love having new things to play with, especially when it is from a new to me brand.  Yay for having It Girl not only in my collection but on my blog as well!  Today I have the IG107 stamping plate to share with you.

As this plate is full of full sized images (which are always a favourite of mine) I really struggled deciding which image to use first.  I am so glad that I went for this image.  I love how it looks over Emily de Molly's LE64.

I really like this next image (I think it would look awesome as an accent nail in black and white) but I thought I would be a bit more adventurous and go for some neon.  Polishes used are Color Club Cliff Notes, All Dolled Up and Don't Toy With Me, and Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

I'm quite impressed with the quality of this It Girl plate.  It stamps so well.  The images are fantastic too although I do find it a little odd that the images are soooo wide.  I can't image that anyone's nails are that wide so it seems like a waste of space.  You could easily get some extra images on these plates.

This plate is available from It Girl Nail Art.
