Polish Envy Chameleon Polishes - Swatches & Review

Monday, 17 April 2017

Recently I was contacted by Polish Envy to see if I would like to swatch and review some of their Chameleon polishes.  I'm not sure if I have been living under a rock or something but I have never heard the term "chameleon" polishes, so naturally I was curious.  Could they be thermals?  Duochromes?  Multichromes?  Well, let's take a look.

As I really wasn't too sure how to describe these polishes I asked Tiffany (the owner of Polish Envy) for their polish descriptions.  Overall, Tiffany describes the chameleon polishes as polishes that change colour with movement and sunlight.  Each colour is said to have 3-4 different colours.  I think these polishes may be a little lost on me, because I really struggle to see 3-4 colours on each.  To me these polishes look like a base colour with a strong sheen/shimmer through it.  I didn't really notice any colour "changes" with the exception of one of the polishes.

The formula across these polishes is quite consistent.  They are all easy to use, but they are quite sheer.  I would say that they need a minimum of three coats, but the tips will see be quite see through.  I used four coats for the majority of my swatches and they are still see through at the tips in direct light.

Change Is Upon Us is said to have cyan, blue, red and purple colour changes in it.  This I thought was the most "opaque" (of the group.  I used three coats for my swatch.

I Can't Believe It's Not is golden, kelly green and blue.  My swatch shows four coats.

I Thought It Was Different is red, yellow, orange and olivine.  This one looks more like it could be a duochrome.  It doesn't seem the have that same shimmer/sheen through it like the others do.  My swatch shows four coats.

I'll Never Be The Same is green and red.  I used four coats for my swatch.

Overall,  I'm not a huge fan of these.  They don't really have the colour changes like I was expecting and they are too sheer for my personal taste.

These Chameleon Polishes are available now from  Polish Envy.

Polish Envy Swatch Spam - Swatches & Review

Monday, 6 June 2016

Today I have eight polishes to share with you from Polish Envy.  I have previously swatched some of Polish Envy's Duralacq range.  If you missed that post you can check it out here.  The polishes I have today are predominately metallic foil polishes, with the except of one polish which is a shimmer.

The consistency across these polishes is pretty similar.  They are all easy to work with, however I found these polishes quite sheer.  As you probably are aware, I don't like visible nail lines at all and also don't like having see through tips (in my opinion polishes aren't fully opaque if you can hold your nails up to a light and see through them).  These polishes are all see through at the tips with three coats (some swatches I have only used two coats) and with extra polish applied to the tips.

Blue No More is a bright blue metallic foil.  This is quite a pretty colour.  My swatch shows three coats.

Blue On My Mind is a blue metallic foil.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Crescent Moon is a gunmetal grey metallic.  This is one of the most "opaque" of the eight polishes I have swatched.  My swatch shows two coats (and still has slightly see through tips).

Foxxy is an orange metallic foil.  My swatch shows three coats.

Magic Mustard is a yellow gold metallic foil.  This one has visible brush strokes.  My swatch shows two coats.

Magnetica is a magenta metallic foil.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Popsicle is a coral metallic foil.  My swatch shows three coats.

Water My Melon is a coral pink shimmer.  My swatch shows three coats.

These polishes are available from Polish Envy.

Polish Envy Duralacq Mixed Swatches & Review

Monday, 7 March 2016

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you have all had a great weekend.  Today I have a new brand (well definitely new to me anyway) to share with you.  Polish Envy is an Australian made and owned brand and are based here in Melbourne.  They have a big range of polishes to choose from including base and top coats.  I was sent four polishes from the Duralacq range to swatch and review.

The formulas across these polishes are consistent.  They are all easy to work with, quite quick drying and are opaque in two coats.  Each of these polishes has a metallic foil finish to them.  All of my swatches show two coats and all pictures are taken in my light box.

Forest Fantasy is a forest green metallic foil.

Holly is a dark purple metallic foil.

Midnight Sky is a blue metallic foil.

Supernova is a berry pink metallic foil.

As I mentioned earlier the formulas across these polishes are really consistent.  They are easy to use and only need two coats to be opaque.  The colours are also really nice too.  My personal favorite would have to be Midnight Sky.

These polishes along with a huge range of colours are available from Polish Envy.
