Powder Perfect The Palace Collection - Swatches & Review

Friday 6 May 2016

It's been a little while since I have had some Powder Perfect polishes on my blog and I am so excited to have The Palace Collection to share with you.  This collection consists of six polishes (a mix of creme, foil and holographic finishes) and is inspired by the Cinderella fable as told by Charles Perrault & the Brothers Grimm.

Cinder Soot is  a grey polish with gold flakies and a smattering of holographic glow.  This polish is pretty indoors and absolutely stunning in the sun and in direct lighting.  The formula is great and easy to work with.  I used two coats for my swatch.

First Dance is a metallic foil cornflour blue.  The formula is easy to work with although I highly recommend a careful application as this polish makes a huge mess if you have to clean it up.  Shimmery bits everywhere!  It's close to being a one coater, but I used two coats for my swatch.

Hazel Twig is a pale green holographic polish with gold-green flakies.  Quite a pretty colour and the formula is easy to work with.  I do recommend a careful application for this one as it is quite messy when cleaning up.  I used three coats for my swatch and found that there was a slight visible nail line in direct light.

If The Slipper Fits is a pale holographic purple polish with colour shifting flakies that change from purple to blue.  This polish is so gorgeous.  It's really no surprise that I love this one.  It's definitely much prettier in person than my camera can capture.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Search The Kingdom is a pastel pink creme.  Pretty colour with a great formula.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Turtledoves is a ivory creme.  Really pretty colour (makes for a great base for nail art) and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Overall I really like this new collection.  There are definitely some great colours and the cremes (particularly Turtledoves) will make for some great nail art.  My personal favorites are If The Slipper Fits, Cinder Soot, Turtledoves and Search The Kingdom.

The Palace Collection is available from Powder Perfect (Australia) as well as from their US site here.
