OPI Tru Neons Collection - Swatches & Review

It may be winter here in Melbourne and while I have been loving some winter polishes lately I thought it was time to finally swatch the OPI Tru Neons Collection.  I actually purchased this collection a while ago now and have had it sitting waiting for me to swatch for maybe a month now?  It's been a long time that's for sure.  Anyway, let's take a look before I start rambling.

Normally I swatch all polishes directly onto the nail so you can see how many coats it takes for a polish to be opaque.  For this post I have swatched all polishes over white, because I think these polishes looked quite sheer when I swatched them on sticks.  Formula wise, they vary slightly from polish to polish.  Some are quite streaky and apply unevenly, others apply better.  All of my swatches show two coats.  As with most neon polishes, these were a little tricky to photograph and aren't 100% accurate due to my camera freaking out a bit.

Correctomundo is described as a twilight blue.  It's definitely not what I would consider a neon polish but I think it's a great colour still.  It does look darker in person than what is shows in my swatch.  This one does apply unevenly and streaky.

Green Come True is described as a vivid green.  This polish applies the most unevenly of the polishes in this collection.  I actually did two and a bit coats to try and even it out a bit but as you can see in my swatch, it didn't really work.

No Doubt About It is described as a luminous coral orchid.  I quite like this colour.  It's really pretty.  Again, this one applied unevenly and streaky.

No Faux Yellow is a bright (not highlighter) yellow.  I really like bright yellow polishes.  No clue why.  This one applies probably applies the most evenly of the collection.

Pants On Fire! is described as a blazing orange.  This polish is definitely bright in person than what it looks in my picture.  The formula applies unevenly on the first coat but does ok evening out on the second.  I do quite like the colour of this one but it's not a favorite of mine (both from this collection or in comparison to other neon orange polishes).

Precisely Pink is a neon pink.  Now no surprise here I am sure but I really like this one.  The formula is quite good.  It applies reasonably evenly and doesn't look as patchy in person as it looks in my swatch.  A third coat might even it out some more.

While I do really like a lot of the colours in this collection, I can't say I will be grabbing for these polishes too often.  I have enough neon polishes in my collection with better formulas that I can use.

Powder Perfect Hella Holo Customs - Swatches & Review

Bruised Rose has a blackberry holographic base with flickering fuchsia to blue flakies.  This polish is really pretty and easy to use.  It does apply a little unevenly on the first coat but evens out beautifully on the second coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

Rainbow Dragon is a holographic polish disguised as an aqua gemstone with blue, green and purple ultra chrome flakies.  This one is definitely a favorite of mine.  It's easy to use, plus it looks great in all lighting.  For my swatch I used three coats.

Seaborn is a glowing seafoam green holographic polish filled with a myriad of iridescent glitters, alongside silver holographic microglitte.  This is another easy to use polish.  I particularly like this one in the sun.  It's so pretty.  My swatch shows two coats.

Seriously how gorgeous are these polishes?  I would have to say that my favorite is Rainbow Dragon.  I mean how can I go past flakies and holo?

Uberchic Op Art Magic Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Uberchic Beauty are back again with a bunch of new plates!  I will be sharing these with you over a few different posts - starting today with the new Op Art Magic plate.  This one really grabbed my attention.  There are some really cool patterns on this plate.  Personally I think the images are best used in a simple mani which is what I have done for my swatches.  Definitely nothing over the top but that is just my personal preference.

I really like this plate.  I can definitely see me using these images a lot, especially as a black and white accent nail like I did in the second mani.

Powder Perfect Promise Duo (Harlow ONE Series) - Swatches & Review

Earlier this year Harlow & Co created their Harlow ONE Series. This is a monthly project that will feature ONE indie polish brand during ONE month and $1.00 CAD from each bottle sold will be donated to ONE cause, chosen by the brand. Magic Of Imagination is a "knock-your-socks-off" hot pink crelly filled with super sparkly silver holographic glitters.  Such a pretty and girly polish that is easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Profound Promise is an apple green holographic polish with silver and shifting micro glitters.  This is a nice green and applies evenly.  My swatch shows three coats.

Pueen Theme Park Stamping Plate Collection - Swatches & Review

Two blog posts in the same week?  Look at me go.  I really do miss blogging but it is also nice to have a little time off too.  Anyway, last week I had a lovely surprise package arrive on my doorstep from Pueen Cosmetics.  Pueen recently released their Theme Park collection which features four rectangle stamping plates, each with a different theme.

I am a big fan of this collection.  There are so many great designs and they stamp really well.  I have no issues with these plates.  I also quite like that they have different themed backings.

OPI Washington DC Collection - Swatches & Review

Hello my friends!  It's been a little while since I have blogged.  Definitely not completely intention.  As I mentioned in one of my previous posts life has been a little hectic and quite stressful for me so I've had to take a little step back from nails for a little bit.  I will be popping up every now and again but for the time being I won't be on any regular blogging schedule.  Anyway, today I have the new OPI Washington DC Collection.  This collection is a collaboration between OPI and the actress Kerry Washington, who was recently named as the brands first ever Creative Ambassador.  The collection consists of twelve permanent shades (which I have to share with you today) and three limited edition shades.

This collection by far has some of the best and most consistent formulas that I can recall from OPI.  Each polish is really easy to work with and in a lot of cases you could get away with using only one coat.  I wish all polishes had a formula like these polishes.  I don't think I could love them any more.  For all of my swatches I used two coats.
  
C.I.A = Color Is Awesome is a teal blue creme.  Such a gorgeous colour.

Freedom Of Peach is a peachy sienna creme.  I think this is quite an interesting colour.  I'm not sure if I like it or not on my skin tone but it's definitely a great autumn tone polish.

Madam President is a pink toned red creme (or is it a red toned pink?).  Whatever you want to call it, I really like it.  This was actually the first polish in the collection that I reached for.

Never A Dulles Moment is described as a curry yellow creme.  This one I did find applied slightly unevenly on the first coat but evens out perfectly on the second coat.

OPI By Popular Vote is described as a cool apple red.  Now if you have been following for a while then you will probably know that red is not usually a favorite of mine, especially red cremes.  Well for some strange reason I love this polish.  I would go as far as saying that this is my favorite polish in the entire collection.  I even wore it as a full mani for two days in a row.

Pale To The Chief is a nude creme with a very subtle shimmer throughout.  I quite like the colour of this one, although the shimmer is very hard to see in person (and on camera).  I think I would like this one more if it didn't have the shimmer.

Shh...It's Top Secret! is a very dark brown creme.  This polish is super dark that for the most part it looks black.

Squeaker Of The House is chocolate brown creme.  This one does apply a little uneven on the first coat but evens out on the second coat.

 Stay Of The Lawn!! is blue toned green creme.  Such a pretty colour.

Suzi - The First Lady Of Nails is an olive green creme.  This one does apply slightly uneven on the first coat but evens out perfectly on the second coat.  I am also a fan of this colour too.

We The Female is a garnet creme.  Another red creme that I quite like and it is close to being a one coater.

Yank My Doodle is tawny brown with a slight reddish tone creme.

Overall, I am really impressed with this collection.  The colours are perfect for a Winter/Fall Collection and the formulas are amazing.  My personal favorites are OPI By Popular Vote, Madam President, CIA = Color Is Awesome and Stay Off My Lawn!!
