Cici&Sisi have recently released some more acrylic stamping plates to their range. There is a huge variety in themes and styles of the plates ranging Indian, floral and geometric just to a name a few. You may have seen in my Instagram Story earlier this week that I was lucky enough to receive three of the new additions which I will share with you today. I am also including a layering plate that I haven't shared yet on my blog. You may have seen the manis I have done for that plate on Instagram already.
Flower
Let's kick off with the Flower plate. This plate features a number of different images which are designed to be layered on top of each other. This is my first (and only) layering plate I own and I definitely need some practice with it. The images all pick up and transfer to the nail well, however I personally find the image sizes quite large. A lot of the decal gets missed on the nail or the image takes up the entire nail and looks a little odd. That could just be a personal preference thing though.

Geometry 02
This plate features five full sized images and eighteen single images. This plate is definitely unique in my collection, especially the geometric animals. I think these are quite cool and adorable (I mean look at that little panda!) however the image sizes of those are quite large so sit a little odd on my nails. I am going to have to keep playing with this plate to see if I can make those images work for me. Stay tuned on Instagram to see how I go!

There are some really interesting and unique images on this plate. They pick up and transfer well on the nail, however like with the other plates I have some troubles with the image sizes. Maybe my nails are just an odd size?

Indian 04
This is another plate with some really nice images, however they just don't quite work how I would like on my nails. For example, I really like the image in the top left corner but as you can see in my mani it doesn't fit on my nails properly and I lose a lot of the design. I can't fault how the images pick up and transfer on to the nails.

I've noticed recently that there has been a slight shift with the size of images on stamping plates, and I am not just talking about Cici&Sisi. All brands seem to be opting for larger images and I'm not entirely sure why. I understand that everyone has different sized nails but some of the images wouldn't even work on someone's big toe nail. I don't really understand it. Anyway, I'm getting side tracked here. I do like these plates and think there are some really great images on each (there are also others listed on the website that look amazing which I plan on adding to m collection). They all stamp beautifully but I do wish the image sizes were a little smaller.
Each of these plates are available now from Cici&Sisi.
What do you think of this type of review were I talk a little about each plate separately? Like it? Hate it and prefer my quicker reviews? Let me know.
Wow these plates look amazing and your mani's are stunning. I've already fallen in love with that butterfly mani from IG but the others are just as incredible.

Thanks Vicky :)
DeleteReally great review and I think despite your difficulties you've created some gorgeous manis!. I personally really like the individual plate reviews. I totally agree with you that images seem to be getting bigger. I find I have to keep my nails a bit longer than I would like to make proper use of most of them and I was asked to review the Cici plates but was concerned how I'd be able to translate these images on my nails in a meaningful way
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire. I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed that image sizes are getting bigger. The bigger images are definitely good when you have a bit of length.
DeleteImage size is why I have been avoiding buffet plates. Your right the images do seem to tend toward bigger nails. I know and have heard that Moyra plates have bigger and that's why I haven't picked up any of those. I love what you have done with these plates. Fantastic looks!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christy. The buffet style plates use to overwhelm me and I would avoid them, but I actually quite like them now. They are great especially if you are in a hurry because you really don't have to stress about the placement on the nails. The images are so huge that you are guaranteed to get the image on the nail lol. I haven't tried any Moyra plates. Not sure why. Maybe I should just to review them and compare image sizes?
