26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Wedding

These fortnightly challenge manis seem to be popping up really quickly at the moment.  I guess this month is just one of those months that will fly by.  June will also fly by, as will the rest of this year I am sure.  Anyway, today's theme for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge is Wedding.  I originally was thinking more along the lines of a subtle lace design but one of the girls I use to work with just got married over the weekend and her dress was absolutely gorgeous!!  I just had to do today's mani inspired by it.  The dress itself is sheer with a bold white design over it, and she wore a body suit underneath.  I'm not sure I have described that very well but trust me, it was absolutely stunning!

For my base I used OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons and stamped using Powder Perfect's White Stamping Polish.  Image is from B Loves Plate B06 Classy & Chic.

I'm a little unsure whether or not I will be completely the next theme for this challenge (the theme is dry or drag marble).  I'm not a fan of the theme but we shall see how I am feeling about when the time comes to do the mani.

Born Pretty Store BP-L078 & BP-X52 Stamping Plates - Swatches & Review

A couple of days ago I shared with you the two thermal stamping polishes I received from Born Pretty Store.  Today I have the two stamping plates to share with you.  One of these plates is a small square plate while the other is a rectangle plate.  Both stamp quite well and are full of full sized nail image (which are my favourite type of images to use).

BP-L078

This plate is the rectangle plate and features fourteen full sized nail designs.  I am a big fan of the mix of designs on this plate.

This image reminds me of cracked glass/mirror from some reason so that was the look I was going for.  For my base I used Color Club Beg, Borrow & Steel and stamped using Hit The Bottle's As Black As Night.

BP-X52

This plate is a small square plate and features size full sized butterfly designs.  This is quite a pretty plate.  I love butterfly designs!

Naturally I had to go for a really girly looking mani with this plate.  For my base I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Poppet, Dollface and Bon Bon and stamped using Hit The Bottle Snowed In.

I quite like the designs on both of these plates and they both stamp really well.

Grace-full Nail Polish The Faraway Collection - Swatches & Review

There have been quite a few individual polishes being released from Grace-full Nail Polish (Polish Pick Up, Hella Handmade Creations....) but it is time for a brand new collection!  Woohoo!  The Faraway Collection contains seven polishes in a range of finishes and is inspired by The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton.  Just a heads up before I dive into the swatches and review - this post is going to be quite picture heavy.

Angry Pixie is a red jelly with micro red metallic flakes.  This polish has such a glow about it and the formula is amazing.  My swatch shows two coats.

Dame Washalot is a off white crelly with teeny silver holo glitter and circle glitters in bright colours.  I think this is such a cute and fun old school type of indie polish.  This one does apply unevenly on the first coat, but evens out on the second and third.  The glitters also come out easily, there is no fishing required!  My swatch shows three coats.

Moonface is a champagne coloured metallic flake polish.  Talk about BLING!  If you loved Rosy Glow then you will love this one!  My daughter does.  She dived on it as soon as I opened the package and NEEDED her nails painted with it.  The formula is easy to use but I do recommend a careful application as clean up with this one can be a little messy.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Mr Watzisname is a teal jelly with ultra chrome chameleon flakies in navy, teal and blue with a sprinkling of micro holo glitter.  I really like that added blue glitter in this one.  It's really pretty.  The formula is great and you can stop at two coats.  I did do three coats only because I found it a little sheer at the tips for my personal taste.

Saucepan Man is a thermal that moves from dark to light grey, with silver flakes and silver holo glitter throughout.  I really like this one - both when it's warm and cold.  The formula is great and again you can get away with two coats with this polish, but I personally found it a little see through at the tips so I used three coats for my swatch.

Silky is a mint green holo with silver shimmer.  This is such a pretty colour and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch.

The Tree is a multichrome that moves through aqua, cyan, purple and blue.  You know I am a sucker for multichrome and this one has stolen my heart.  It does show more colours than I could capture with my camera.  It really is so much more shifty in person.  The formula is great and applies evenly.  I used three coats for my swatch (you can do two coats but it was a little bit see through for my personal taste).

How awesome is this collection?  I think there is such a great mix of colours and finishes that there is definitely something in here for everyone.  My personal favourites are Moonface, The Tree and Saucepan Man, closely followed by Silky and Mr Watzisname.  I really need to try and cut back on my favourites don't I?  It's just so hard when there are soooo many pretties!

Born Pretty Store Thermal Stamping Polishes - Swatches & Review

I have discovered recently that I am a big fan of thermal nail polishes.  I saw that you can also get thermal stamping polishes so naturally I was curious.  Fast forward a little bit and Born Pretty Store contacted me asking me if I would like to review some more of their products.  Of course I chose two of the thermal stamping polishes (which I will be sharing with you today) and two stamping plates (which I will share with you in a few days).

06 is a thermal stamping polish that transitions from a light purple to light pink.  I honestly struggled to get this polish to transition.  Maybe the colour change isn't that drastic so I didn't quite see it?  But to me it barely changed (I even burnt my hard on the heat bag trying to get it to change.  It does stamp ok though.  It's definitely better over white than black.

09 is a thermal stamping polish that transitions from a purple to a bright pink.  Now this is a good thermal!  The transition was easy and it stamps quite well over both light and dark colours.

From the two of these polishes I have tried I would say that the thermal range might be a little hit and miss for them to transition.  They do stamp well (particularly over white) so I guess the only gamble is if they transition.

China Glaze Shades Of Paradise Collection - Swatches & Review

I am a simple girl - I see a new China Glaze Collection and I buy it.  This collection did cause me a little panic though.  I was following my tracking and all of a sudden it stopped and nothing happened.  After a few days I received an email from Head2Toe Beauty saying that my package had been returned to them.  Not to fear though, H2T resent me my package.  They have the best customer service!  Anyway, I now have the Shades Of Paradise Collection to share with you guys!

All Sun & Games is a bright orange with golden shimmer.    I quite like the colour of this one however the formula isn't great.  It applies unevenly and needs three coats to be some what even.  It does dry kind of dull (it's not quite matte) but top coat definitely helps it.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Boujee Board is a pink toned purple satin.  This polish isn't quite matte but it is heading in that direction.  I'm really not sure how you would describe the finish.  I really like the colour of this one and definitely prefer it with top coat.  The formula is easy to work with, however it does sit on the sheer side.  It is also quite bubbly prior to adding top coat.  This polish also leaves slight staining on the nails.  My swatch shows three coats.

Cabana Fever is a white matte.  This one applies unevenly on the first coat, however evens out on the second.  I'm neither here nor there with this one.  My swatch show two coats.

Can't Sandal This is salmon pink creme.  This one has a great even formula and the colour is ok.  I'm not a huge fan of it but I also don't hate it.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Don't Be Sea Salty is a bright pink with shimmer.  This again is one of those polishes that dries satin (again it's not quite matte but it is on it's way there).  The formula is a little sheer but it is easy to use.  I do like the colour of this one and prefer it with top coat.  This one also left some light staining on my nails.  I used three coats for my swatch.

I'll Sand By You is a beige with a golden sheen.  The sheen doesn't stand out so much when it is on the nails but you can easily see it in the bottle.  The formula is easy to use and is opaque in two coats.

Kiki In Our Tiki is a oranged toned red creme.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Ma-Holo At Me is a blue holographic.  This is quite a pretty holo but it is one the sheer side which is a little disappointing.  I think I have been very spoilt with the holos from the indie makers.  The holo dulled on this polish when I applied top coat, however when the top coat dried the holo returned to normal.  It is very strange.  I have never had that before.  Anyway, my swatch shows three coats.

Mer-Made For Bluer Waters is a shimmery blue.  I think that this is a nice colour but I am not a fan of the visible brush strokes or how sheer it is.  My swatch shows three coats.

Stop Beachfrontin' is a purple creme.  This is definitely one of my favourites from this collection.  The colour is gorgeous and the formula is great.  My swatch shows two coats.

Tropic Of Conversation is a coral with golden shimmer.    This is a nice colour but you do need to move quickly when working with this one.  It dries quite quickly and then drags the polish.  I used three coats for my swatch, however it is still quite uneven.  It is more obvious in person than it looks in my picture.

Water-Falling In Love is a sky blue creme.  This is a gorgeous colour and the formula is great, especially for such a light colour.  It applies unevenly on the first coat but evens out on the second coat.

I am a little on the fence about this collection.  I really want to like it but it's just not hitting home for me.  There are some nice colours but some of the formulas aren't great.  My top picks are Water-Falling In Love and Stop Beachfrontin', followed by Don't Be Sea Salty and Ma-Holo At Me.  What do you think of this latest China Glaze Collection?
