Swatch My Stash

Tuesday, 16 February 2021

I have been busy behind the scenes swatching some new goodies for a few different brands (all I can say is prepare your wallets!) which hasn't let me with time to do any other sort of manis for my blog this week.  But I do still have a few old swatches sitting on my computer and a goal of all of my polishes swatched on my blog so now is the perfect time to share these.  I hope you enjoy the little throwback today.

Emily de Molly All The Feelings 2.0.  One coat over Emily de Molly LE167.

Powder Perfect Lycanthrope.  Again, I don't have notes on this but I think I used two coats.

Starrily Ultima.  I have zero clue how many coats for this one but I do remember it being blinding and sooooo sparkly.

I'm pretty sure that is all of the older swatches I have sitting on my computer now so going forward any Swatch My Stash posts will current swatches.  I'm excited to dig back through my drawers and break out some of my older polishes.  I have been reorganising some more my polishes recent and I have to say there are some really awesome polishes that need to come out and play again.

piCture pOlish Swatch Spam - Swatches & Review

Friday, 19 October 2018

At the start of this year, I set out some goals that I want to achieve this year.  One of those goals is swatch everything that I have purchased this year (and to swatch everything I purchased last year - which I have done woohoo!).  So far I am tracking along pretty well and am keeping up with all my purchases.  That brings us to today's post.  Today I have some random polishes that I have picked up this year from piCture pOlish and one polish that I wore ages ago and never got around to posting so thought I would share it now.

Aurora is a multichrome that shifts from turquoise green to purple to pink.  This polish was originally released back in 2014 (or something like that).  I have worn it quite a few times and I love it!  It's so beautifully and shifty!  My pictures (that I can't remember when I took) don't really do this polish justice.  I definitely want to wear it again.  My swatch shows two coats over black.

Blossom is described as a soft pink to lilac nail polish with holographic  flakes and pink glass flecks.  This polish is made in collaboration with Paulina's Passion.  This polish is gorgeous!  My pictures don't do it justice at all.  The formula is a little on the sheer side but that is to be expected for such a light colour.  For my swatch I used three coats.

Cactus is described as a khaki green polish with a jelly consistency and holographic flakes.  This polish was made in collaboration with @de_briz.  Now I am not one for green polishes but every time I saw swatches of this polish I knew I just had to have it.   My pictures really don't do this polish justice.  It really needs sunshine so you can see the holo.  It really is so pretty.  The formula is good and it's easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Orchid is a bright pink/purple jelly with scattered holo.  This polish was made in collaboration with Solo Nails.  Fun story, when I was looking at shades of purples for my collaboration shade I actually originally wanted this type of colour (or something very similar) however I decided against it because I didn't want my shade to be too similar to this one.  Anyway, I love this one!  The colour is gorgeous and it does look slightly different depending on your lighting.  The formula is also good and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Wanderlust is a bright candy pink polish with holographic flakes and blue glass flecks.  This polish is made in collaboration with Nail Decor.  I love this polish!  It's stunning!  The formula is a little bit on the sheer side but it's easy to work with.  I used three coats for my swatch.

piCture pOlish really do have some fantastic polishes.  It's one of my polish drawers that I really need to play in some more (which I can say that about most of my polish collection really).  I hope you guys have enjoyed this random swatch spam.

China Glaze Swatch Spam

Saturday, 11 November 2017

Happy weekend everyone!  I hope you have had a good week.  It's been quite a long and busy week for me so I am definitely looking forward to some relaxing over the weekend (although I have a feeling that this isn't going to happen).  Today I was meant to have some new pretties to share with you, however the package has gone missing.  It should have arrived late last week but it still isn't here.  I ran out of time to prepare anything else for today, so instead I have a small swatch spam post with five China Glaze polishes.

Be More Pacific is a bright yellowish green creme.  I think this is such a nice colour.  The formula isn't great.  It's patchy and is quite runny so if you aren't careful the polish will come flying off the brush.  I needed three coats to get even coverage.

Five Rules is a grey-ish creme.  It does have a hint of beige in it too.  Quite an interesting colour.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Polarized is described as a silver metallic sheen sprinkled with yellow, pink, orange and green glitters.  This polish is from the Prismatic Chroma Collection, which is probably one of my favourite collections from China Glaze.  This polish is super sparkly and so beautiful.  The formula is easy to use and has great glitter payoff.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Re-fresh Mint is a light mint green creme.  This was actually the first ever China Glaze that I ever purchased.  The colour is great and so is the formula.  My swatch shows two coats.

Stoked To Be Soaked is a bright orange creme.  I'm on the fence with this polish.  I don't love it and I don't hate it.  The formula isn't the greatest.  It applies unevenly and requires three coats to even out.

One of these days I really would like to have swatched my entire China Glaze Collection.  There are definitely some amazing polishes in the mix.  Are you guys interested in seeing more swatch spam posts?  Or are you interested in a favourites post?  Eg my top ten favourite China Glaze polishes.  Let me know!

OPI Swatch Spam

Saturday, 13 May 2017

It's been quite some time since I have done any form of "swatch spam" here on my blog and I don't think I have ever done an OPI swatch spam.  I am currently unwell (nothing serious - it's just a cold) and have been feeling quite unmotivated over the last few days.  I thought rather than forcing myself to push through I'd take a mini time out from doing my nails.  Luckily I have some manis that have been sitting on my computer for quite some time (so long that there are some pictures from when I use to do my pictures with my phone) so I thought I would pop them into a swatch spam for you.  I quite like going back and re-wearing some of the older polishes in my collection.  I would love to one day have all of the polishes I own swatched on my blog but they may take me about 100 years.  Anyway, I am babbling.  Let's look at the polishes.

Crown Me Already is probably one of my all time favourite glitter polishes (especially from OPI).  The formula is great and you don't need to fish for the glitters.  Plus it's super sparkly!   My swatch is one coat of China Glaze I'd Melt For You.

Do You Lilac It?  is a bit of a classic OPI polish if you ask me.  I'm not even sure how long I have had this polish for.  It's got a great formula and is such a beautiful colour.  My swatch shows two coats.

Kermit Me To Speak.  I have no notes of this polish at all and I can't recall what I think of the formula.  I do know that I used three coats for my swatch though.

Pink Friday is another favourite of mine.  I have used this polish quite a few times over the years.  The formula is great and it's a pretty colour.  My swatch shows two coats.

Taupe-less Beach.  The formula of this one is amazing.  You can easily get away with one coat on short nails and it's such a nice taupe colour.  I love taupe nails, especially in the cooler weather (I'm currently wearing a taupe mani).  I used two coats for my swatch.

OPI You're Such A Budapest is such a gorgeous, gorgeous colour.  It's one that I should wear more often (which yes I know I say that a lot about a lot of polish).  I see it a lot on Instagram and always stop to find out what the polish is because it is just so beautiful.  I do find the formula to be on the sheer side, so I used three coats for my swatch.

I know I mentioned it earlier but I do love re-wearing older polishes and doing swatch spams is a great reason to break some of them out.  Maybe that should be my new goal of mine once I get through swatching all of the polishes I purchased last year?

What are some of your all time favourite OPI polishes?  Or what are some of the OPIs on your wishlist?

Swatch Spam Sunday: Peita's Polish

Sunday, 17 July 2016

I hope you guys aren't sick of swatch spams yet.  My finger is nearly in a presentable condition so I should be back to painting my nails again.  Woohoo!  I know I am excited.  I have so many pretties waiting to be played with.  Anyway, for today's swatch spam I have three macro glitters from Peita's Polish.  Peita's Polish is actually the first indie brand that I ever purchased from (it was a black and white glitter called Zebration in case you were wondering).  Since then I have dived quite deep into the indie pool and probably own just as many indies as I do mainstream these days.

All That Jazz is a combination of pink, green and white micro glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over China Glaze In A Lily Bit.

Fizzilicious is a combination of pink, orange and white matte mirco glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over Color Club East Austin.

Jellybean Dream is a combination of pink/purple and blue matte mirco glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over China Glaze That's Shore Bright.

I absolutely adore Peita's macro glitter polishes, particular the matte ones.  They are just such fun colour combinations and are really easy to use.  I think I actually own all of the ones that she has released.

Unfortunately it appears that these polishes (and the bulk of Peita's polishes) are no longer available.  I'm not entirely sure if this is
