The Nail Lab Swatch Spam - Swatches & Review

Wednesday 7 October 2015

Today I am so excited to share with you a new brand (well at least it is to me) The Nail Lab.  The Nail Lab is actually a nail salon based in Sydney but they also have an online store with goodies like polishes, a nail art book and nail care products.  I was lucky enough to receive five of their polishes to try out and I am super impressed.  Let's just dive on in.

Aretha is a mix of purples, gold and orange glitters of various sizes in a clear base.  This is definitely a fun glitter mix.  Formula wise it was easy to use.  I honestly was expecting it to be very base heavy, but it wasn't.  The glitter comes out rather easily so you don't need to go fishing.  The glitter does like to stick together on the nail so you do need to do some gentle placing.  I used one dabbed coat over Edna.

Edna is described as "the pinkest of our purples and purplest of our pinks".  That definitely describes this polish.  She is a bright pastel and in my opinion is perfect.  I am seriously so in love with this polish.  Edna is super close to being a one coater (I think if you have short nails you could easily get away with one coat) and applies like a dream.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Flossie is not quite pink and not quite purple either.  Whatever it is, it is beautiful.  The formula is easy to work with, and applies a little streaky on the first coat but evens out on the second.

Polly is described as a paler shade of coral.  Not sure why she is called paler but she is really pretty.  Definitely a great spring and summer polish, especially if you aren't a fan of neons.  Formula is fantastic.  Like Edna, Polly is close to being a one coater and applies like a dream.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Rita is The Nail Lab's classic gold metallic.  This is another one with a great formula.  Again, you could get away with one coat, but I used two coats for my swatch.

Overall, I am so impressed with these polishes.  The colours are so gorgeous and the formulas are fantastic.  I definitely want more of these polishes in my collection.  My absolute favorite from these ones is definitely Edna, and I really love Flossie and Polly as well.

The Nail Lab polishes are available from their online store.
