The Indie Spectrum October 2018 Box - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 12 September 2018

Hello again!  It's another double post day for me because I have some more new things to share!  I do love sharing all the new things (and I am also having fun doing the 31 day challenge and doing lots of nail art - it feels like ages since I have had a good run of nail art).  Anyway, today I have the new Indie Spectrum Box to share with you.  The theme for this month's box is Australian Myths And Legends and the contributors are Grace-full Nail Polish, Lilypad Lacquer, Sayuri Nail Lacquer and Bella Belle Nail Couture.

Bella Belle Nail Couture The Lights is a gold holo with copper flakies.  This polish is inspired by Min Min lights.  Now I am not usually one for gold polishes but I really like this one.  I also really like the added flakes.  They are subtle but it gives the polish something a little extra.  The formula is good and applies evenly.  I used three coats for my swatch as I found that it was a little to sheer for my personal taste after two coats.

Grace-full Nail Polish Sacred Ground is a colour shifting chameleon that moves through pink, red, orange and gold.  This polish is inspired by the Curse Of Uluru.  This polish is definitely my favourite from this box.  It shifts so beautifully.  I did have a little trouble capturing all of the shifts on camera (we had perfect holo swatching weather - nothing but sunshine!).  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Lilypad Lacquer Minka is a deep berry violet base with green/blue/purple/gold chameleon flakes and green/red/purple colour shifting shimmer.  This polish is inspired by the Minka bird.  This is quite an interesting polish.  I find that it looks different on the nail to what it looks in the bottle.  The green is so obvious in the bottle but completely disappears on the nail.  I tried different angles and lighting and I couldn't see it at all.  It is still a pretty polish (both on the nail and in the bottle).  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Sayuri Nail Lacquer Picnic Of The Lost is a demure rosy-brown creme with a pink shift and copper/pink duochrome micro particles.  This polish is inspired by Picnic At Hanging Rock.  This polish isn't really my cup of tea but I do think it's unique and the shimmer in it is pretty.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

I think there are definitely some really pretty polishes in this box.  My personal favourites would have to be Sacred Ground and Minka.

The October Box will be available 8pm Thursday 13th September until Thursday 20th September from The Indie Spectrum.  There will also be a live video in the Indie Spectrum Facebook Group 8pm AEST tomorrow (Thursday) if you are interested in checking that out.

Bella Belle Nail Couture Love Bright Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 29 November 2015

If you follow me on Instagram than these polishes won't be new to you.  I originally saw a mani by @chloeluvspolish using the Bella Belle Love Bright Collection and I just fell in love and needed this collection in my life.  These polishes are just as beautiful and bright in person as they look in pictures and I am so glad I purchased these.  You can bet you will continue seeing them a lot from me.

Bright By Nature is a bright green creme.  Such a great spring/summer green.  Formula was easy to use and only needed two coats to be opaque.

How's The Serenity is a bright purple creme.  Stunning colour and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

My Happy Place is a bright pink creme.  Again, this is a gorgeous colour and easy to work with.  I used two coats for my swatch.

River Life is a bright blue creme.  I really feel like I am just repeating myself here but this is another beautiful colour that is great for spring/summer and is easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Sun Kissed is a bright yellow creme.  Talk about a camera freak out with this one.  This is definitely the brightest of the bunch.  Formula wise it is easy to work with, however it does apply quite unevenly.  I need three coats for even coverage.

I am sure you can gather by how often I have used these polishes and what I said that the beginning of this post but I am a huge fan of this collection.  Throw any bright colour at me and I am a happy girl.

The Love Bright Collection is available from Bella Belle Nail Couture and is sold both as a full set and as individual polishes.

Bella Belle Nail Couture Bridal Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 29 March 2015

I'm back with some more Bella Belle Nail Couture polishes.  Today I am going to share with you four of the polishes from the Bridal Collection.  These are super pretty and all apply really well.  I love how girly and princess like these are.  Now let's get into the pictures.

Blushing Bride is a blush toned nude base with subtle holographic, rose gold dust and iridescent pink flakies throughout.  I was so surprised at how much I love this one on the nail.  I was worried it wouldn't look good with my skin tone but I think it looks really pretty. I used three thin coats for my swatch.

Kiss The Bride is a deep pink holographic with rose gold dust and iridescent pink flakies.  Yet another gorgeous polish.  I found this one to be more opaque than the other the other holographic polishes in this collection but I think that is purely because it is a darker polish.  The formula was super easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Put A Ring On It is a clear based polish with fine white glitter, micro gold glitter and smaller silver glitter.  I think this glitter is so sparkly as a full mani worn by itself but will also look awesome layered over a base colour or worn on an accent nail.  I can see me using it a lot.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Something Blue is a blue creme with subtle holographic, blue dust and iridescent blue flakies.  This polish reminds me of Cinderella.  I love it and so does my princess obsessed daughter.  The formula was easy to use.  I used three thin coats for my swatch.

I have now officially tried seven polishes and a quick dry top coat from Bella Belle and I am totally in love with them all.  The colours are beautiful and the formulas are easy to work with.  I can't wait to get my hands on more.

This collection along with some other gorgeous colours are available from Belle Bella Nail Couture.  Also make sure you are following their facebook page here because there are some sneak peeks of the upcoming Autumn collection.

Bella Belle Nail Couture Mixed Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 24 March 2015

You know how there are always new brands (and by new brands I mean new to you) that you really want to try but haven't had the chance for whatever reason?  Well that was Bella Belle Nail Couture to me.  I have drooled over her polishes for what seems like forever, until I got a magical email from Vicky asking me if I would like to do some swatching for her.  Naturally I jumped at the chance, so today I am going to share with you three polishes and the quick dry top coat.  There will be another Bella Belle review post coming with some of the Bridal Collection polishes so stay tuned for that one.

Diamonds In The Rough is a magenta based jelly filled with holographic micro glitter, small pink and purple glitters and holographic pink diamonds.  This polish was originally released for Valentine's and I am so happy that it is still available.  It applies so easily and there is now issues getting out any of the glitter including the big diamond glitters.  I used two coats for my swatch below.

So Fairy Pretty is a purple jelly with holographic fuchsia micro glitter, purple/blue iridescent glitter and blue dust/tiny flakies that sparkle like diamonds.  This polish was named by Tegan C as part of the Name It To Win It Competition, and boy did she pick the perfect name.  This polish is really pretty.  I absolutely love it.  It's a gorgeous polish and applies really well.  I used two coats for my swatch.

You Mermaid My Day is an aqua based jelly with holographic aqua micro glitter, green/gold iridescent glitter and gold dust/tiny flakies that sparkle like diamonds.  This polish was also named perfectly by Tegan C.  This polish applies really easily and looks beautiful.  I used three thin coats although this polish could be opaque with two coats.

#ilikeitontop is a super glossy and quick drying top coat.  It also says that it is long lasting but I personally haven't tested it beyond a few hours.  But it does dry pretty fast (not as fast a Seche Vite but definitely fast).  It does also dry extra glossy which I love.  There is nothing better than a super shiny polish.

Overall, the Bella Bella polishes I have tried have really impressed me.  They not only look fantastic but they apply like a dream as well.  You can guarantee that I will be growing my Bella Belle collection in the near future.

All of these polishes (and many other pretties) are available at Bella Belle Nail Couture.
