Bella Belle Nail Couture Love Bright Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 29 November 2015

If you follow me on Instagram than these polishes won't be new to you.  I originally saw a mani by @chloeluvspolish using the Bella Belle Love Bright Collection and I just fell in love and needed this collection in my life.  These polishes are just as beautiful and bright in person as they look in pictures and I am so glad I purchased these.  You can bet you will continue seeing them a lot from me.

Bright By Nature is a bright green creme.  Such a great spring/summer green.  Formula was easy to use and only needed two coats to be opaque.

How's The Serenity is a bright purple creme.  Stunning colour and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Picture taken in light box
My Happy Place is a bright pink creme.  Again, this is a gorgeous colour and easy to work with.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Picture taken in light box
River Life is a bright blue creme.  I really feel like I am just repeating myself here but this is another beautiful colour that is great for spring/summer and is easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Picture taken in light box
Sun Kissed is a bright yellow creme.  Talk about a camera freak out with this one.  This is definitely the brightest of the bunch.  Formula wise it is easy to work with, however it does apply quite unevenly.  I need three coats for even coverage.

Picture taken in light box
I am sure you can gather by how often I have used these polishes and what I said that the beginning of this post but I am a huge fan of this collection.  Throw any bright colour at me and I am a happy girl.

The Love Bright Collection is available from Bella Belle Nail Couture and is sold both as a full set and as individual polishes.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Midsummer Night's Dream Collection - Swatches & Review

Friday, 27 November 2015

Today I have Femme Fatale's Midsummer Night's Dream Collection to share with you.  This collection was released back in October and is currently not available via the Femme Fatale website, however it may still be available from the international stockists.  The primary visual influences from this seven piece collection were from the 1988 illustrations by Sylvie Monti found in the children’s retelling by Naomi Lewis.

But A Dream is described as a clear to thermal with pink sparkles.  When I swatched this I didn't actually realize that it was meant to be a thermal polish.  I just thought it was because I used extra polish at the tips to help eliminate the visible nail line that it was a slightly different colour.  Oops.  Anyway this polish is easy to use and quite a pretty colour.  I did find it very sheer in colour so next time I would layer it over another polishes.  I used four coats for my swatch (and there was still a visible nail line).

Jewels Of The Deep is described as a rich teal with shifting chrome flakes, iridescent flakes, scatted holo and shimmer.  So stunning and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Liquid Pearl is described as a neutral sheer shade that is packed with shifty blue-violet-pink shimmers and ultrachrome flakes.  As mentioned this is a sheer polish so does take a bit of layer to build it up.  It is easy to work with.  I used four coats for my swatch.

Love's Wound is described as a silky smooth pale fuchsia with green overlay.  Great formula and colour.  The green overlay is more apparent in person than in my pictures.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Maiden's Patience is described as a soft lavender-grey crelly with turquoise shine and silver microglitter with teal accents.  I'm not a huge fan of this one.  It seems a little to chunky or something.  It was easy to work with and was opaque in two coats.

Night And Silence is described as a sheer plum-red jelly overloaded with shifting iridescent flakes, chrome flakes and iridescent glitters in green/teal, shifts to blue/pink at an angle.  I'm a huge fan of this polish.  It's easy to use and it's very unique.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Spangled Starlight is described as a holographic microglitter topper in silver and pink with strong flash of aqua shimmer.  To me this polish looks more purple than pink, but either way it is really pretty and easy to use.  I used two coats over OPI Rumple's Wiggin'.

There are definitely some stunning polishes in this collection.  My personal picks are Jewels From The Deep, Liquid Pearl, Love's Wound, Night And Silence and Spangled Starlight.  They are definitely worth getting your hands on if you can.

Powder Perfect Beauty Of Youth Duo (A Color4Nails Collaboration) - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 26 November 2015

Powder Perfect and Color4Nails have collaborated again and are bringing use two stunning polishes.  These polishes are a tribute to the beauty of youth and childhood.  Both of these polishes are amazing holographic polishes that are packed with vibrant ultra chameleon chrome flakies and have awesome formulas.  You have the option to layer these over a base colour (I am yet to try this but I really should) or can be worn alone.  I used three coats for all of my swatches.  Now just as a word of warning, even though this is only a duo I may have gone a little picture crazy.  But these just look so beautiful and different in various lights so it was necessary.

Endless Childhood has a silver linear holographic base filled with copper-green shifting flakes and a hint of rose gold.  It's so beautiful and I love it.

Never Grow Up has a silver holographic based filled with stunning fuschia-purple-teal shifting flakies.  Again I absolutely love this one.

I don't know about you but I absolutely love these types of polishes.  They are just stunning and look completely different in different lighting.

The Beauty Of Youth Duo will be available to purchase from Powder Perfect and Color4Nails from November 26th. For you Aussie ladies these are being released at 7pm Queensland time.

Uberchic Beauty Christmas 01 Stamping Plate - Swatches and Review

Tuesday, 24 November 2015

Today I probably have one of the shortest and quickest reviews for you that I have ever written.  I love sharing pictures of the Uberchic stamping plates but really I don't have a great deal to say about them.  I think the designs are fantastic and they all stamp really well.  Really each Uberchic review I do says the same thing but with different pictures.    Anyway, today I have Uberchic's Christmas plate to share with you.  I was hoping that they would do a Christmas plate and was sooooo excited when I saw that they had.  I love Christmas and Christmas plates and this plate is definitely going to get a lot of use over the coming years.

Christmas 01

Christmas plate 01
How is that for a super quick post?  I do love this plate and I have actually done a few manis using it so far but silly me did them with polishes that aren't released yet so I will have to keep those manis to myself for now.  You'll just have to keep an eye out of my Instagram to see how else I use this plate.

If you have missed my previous reviews and swatches of the previous collections and other individual plates you can see them here:

The Christmas plate (and all of the plates listed above plus some others) are available from Uberchic Beauty.  I have so seen some sneak peeks saying that there is going to be a sale coming up very soon so definitely join the Facebook group to keep up to date with more info on that.

Uberchic Beauty Collection Six Stamping Plates - Swatches & Review

Monday, 23 November 2015

Uberchic Beauty have recently released another new stamping plate collection.  Like with the previous collections, there are three plates with a mix of designs - both full nail designs and single images.  If you have been following me for a little while then you will know that Uberchic are one of my favorite brands of stamping plates.  The quality is great and the images all stamp really well.  I haven't had the chance to stamp with all of the individual designs on these plates but the ones I have used are great.

What do you think of this collection?  I am definitely a fan and can see myself getting some good use at of these plates.  There are a few designs that look at those they will be too big for my nails so I will need to learn to shrink the images.  Images that are too big are better than images that are too small in my opinion.

If you have missed my previous reviews and swatches of the previous collections and other individual plates you can see them here:

Collection Six plates (and all of the plates listed above plus some others) are available from Uberchic Beauty.  I also have the new Christmas Plate that I will be sharing with you at some point in the next couple of days.

China Glaze Cheers! Holiday 2015 Collection - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 21 November 2015

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to be able to finally share this year's China Glaze Holiday Collection.  I think I have had this collection sitting in my polish racks for at least a month now and I just haven't had the time to swatch them (I feel like I have said that a lot lately but seriously time is just disappearing very quickly on me at the moment).  As a word of warning, this post is rather on the long side as it's a twelve piece collection and lots of pictures.  So enough of me rambling and let's get into them.

Picture from China Glaze
Better Not Pout is described as a merry berry pearl.  This one has a great formula and is opaque in two coats.  The polish in person is slightly more purple toned than in my picture.  My camera just doesn't like purples.

Picture taken in light box

Brand Spankin' New Year is described as a deep prismatic purple glitter.  Great formula, opaque in  two coats and really pretty.  I am a fan of the mix of colours in this polish.

Break The Ice is described as an icy prismatic silver glitter.  I found this on to be quite base heavy so I definitely recommend dabbing this polish on or even sponging it on to give it a more opaque look.  I semi dabbed on one coat over black.

Picture taken in direct sunlight

Bring On The Bubbly is described as a gleaming gold glitter.  This one is easy to use and it has more glitter in it than Break The Ice.  I used one coat over black.

Coal Hands, Warm Heart is a black based jelly filled with small midnight blue glitters and large holographic glitters.  This one is easy to use and opaque in two coats.

Don't Get Elfed Up is described as a deep emerald shimmer.  This was easy to use and opaque in two coats.  This one also has a slight colour shift in it but I couldn't capture it.

Picture taken in light box
I Soiree I Didn't Do It is described as a bright and cheery green glitter.  I quite like this one.  It is a little on the sheer side for both the base colour and glitters but it does build up in three coats.

Mix And Mingle is a vivid deep purple creme.  Easy to use and opaque in two coats.

Picture taken in light box
Peppermint To Be is described as a glittering ruby shimmer.  Such a pretty polish (especially in direct light - my pictures don't do it justice), easy to use and opaque in two coats.

Picture taken in light box

Picture taken in direct sunlight
Son Of A Nutcracker is described as a fiery red-orange pearl.  Now if you don't mind a very slight visible nail line (you can see it if you hold your nails up to light) then you can get away with two coats.  I used three coats for my swatch because I like my polishes to be completely opaque with no light getting through.  The formula is easy to work with as well.

Picture taken in light box
Ugly Sweater Party is described as a multi-dimensional red glitter.  This one actually reminds me of a Forth Of July polish.  I think because it has a red, white and blue theme to it.  I found that the first coat of this one was a little tricky to apply but the second coat was easy to work with.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Wine Down For What? is a rich red creme.  This one is a gorgeous winter shade, and easy to work with.  You could get away with one coat but I used two coats for my swatch.

Picture taken in light box
I do like this collection, even though it is quite red based.  I especially like that there is a mix of finishes.  My personal favorites would have to be Brand Spankin' New Year, Peppermint To Be, Mix And Mingle and I Soiree I Didn't Do It.

I haven't had a look in my collection to see if there is anything worth comparing in this collection, but if there are some comparisons you would like to see just let me know and I will try and do them.
