Swatch Spam Sunday: Peita's Polish

I hope you guys aren't sick of swatch spams yet.  My finger is nearly in a presentable condition so I should be back to painting my nails again.  Woohoo!  I know I am excited.  I have so many pretties waiting to be played with.  Anyway, for today's swatch spam I have three macro glitters from Peita's Polish.  Peita's Polish is actually the first indie brand that I ever purchased from (it was a black and white glitter called Zebration in case you were wondering).  Since then I have dived quite deep into the indie pool and probably own just as many indies as I do mainstream these days.  

All That Jazz is a combination of pink, green and white micro glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over China Glaze In A Lily Bit.

Fizzilicious is a combination of pink, orange and white matte mirco glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over Color Club East Austin.

Jellybean Dream is a combination of pink/purple and blue matte mirco glitters in a clear base.  My swatch shows one coat over China Glaze That's Shore Bright.

I absolutely adore Peita's macro glitter polishes, particular the matte ones.  They are just such fun colour combinations and are really easy to use.  I think I actually own all of the ones that she has released.

Unfortunately it appears that these polishes (and the bulk of Peita's polishes) are no longer available.  I'm not entirely sure if this is

Happy news - the cut on my finger is nearly healed and I couldn't be happier.  I should be back to my regular polishing schedule very soon.  I've had some very exciting nail mail arrive and it's begging for me to use it and I also have a bunch of other posts that are planned and waiting for some pictures.  Anyway, today I have a nice little post for you featuring one of my favorite Dance Legend polishes.

Sulley is a multichrome polish which shifts between blue, purple, crimson, gold and green.  I am sure i have missed out on a few of the colour shifts in this one.  It's such a gorgeous polish (and very entertaining).  I've actually worn this one quite a few times now and I love it every time.  I don't think I could ever get sick of it.  For my swatch I used two coats over black.  I honestly don't think you "need" the black base, but you may just need some extra coats.

I really need to add more (if not all) of the polishes from the Chameleon Collection to my stash.  I love multichromes.  Have you picked up any of the polishes from this collection?

China Glaze Swatch Spam - Part Two

China Glaze is an ever growing brand in my polish stash and it is one of the brands that I use continuously.  It's safe to say that China Glaze are one of my favorite polish brands.  I have a number of blog posts featuring their collections as well as a swatch spam post (you can see that here), and they are all over my Instagram page in my nail art.  Today, I have a small swatch spam featuring some older China Glaze polishes.

What are some of your favorite China Glaze polishes?

Nail Polish Obsession Tag

Sometimes it's nice to take a break from things, but being forced to do so is very frustrating.  I have so many pretties that I want to play with and share but this cut on my finger is taking forever to heal.  Anyway, to break up some of the swatch spams I have I thought it would be fun to do another nail polish tag.  Today I have the Nail Polish Obsession Tag which has been around for quite a few years but why not bring it back again? 

1.  What's your favorite nail polish company?

For mainstream I would say OPI and China Glaze.  As for indies that is a bit of a tricky one.  There are so many that I would class as favorites but my top favorite indie at this exact moment in time is Emily de Molly.

2.  Glitter or no glitter?

Both.  I would say eight times out of ten I reach for a creme polish but mainly because they are easier to take off.  Although glitter accent nails are always a winner.   I do have Powder Perfect's peel off base coat that I need to try out and then maybe I can have more glitter manis in my future.

3.  OPI, China Glaze or Essie?

I really like all three brands but OPI and China Glaze are definitely my favorites.

4.  When do you change your nail polish?

Well prior to this forced break of mine, daily and usually at night once my daughter is in bed.  Sometimes I may get some spare time during the day to do some swatching but the majority of my nail time is night.

5.  What is your favorite colour on your nails?

I'm not too fussy with what colours I have on my nails to be honest but I do tend to grab for purples and pinks more often.

6.  Darks or brights?
Brights.  I do love dark polishes and definitely think that there are times where only dark polishes are called for but at the end of the day I like bright colours.

7.  What are you wearing on your nails right now?

Emily de Molly Quest For Immortality.  Yes I am still wearing it a week later!  Trust me I am just as shocked as you probably are right now.  I have a whole blog post on this polish (with a lot of pictures) that you can see here if you missed it.

8.  Matte Nails - in or out?

Matte nails are always in in my books.  There are just some manis that look better matte and some better shiny.  And flakies!  Flakies look awesome mattified!  Color Club also released the Pop Chalk (matte) Collection earlier this year so matte must still be in.  You can check out my review here if you missed it.

9.  French manicure?
There is a time a place for French manicures but they aren't a go to thing for me.  Fun fact:  French tips (and I'm not talking traditional colours here) were the first type of nail art that I ever did back in my earlier teens. 

10.  Favorite winter colour? Now given it is currently winter here in Australia you would think that the answer for this question would be really easy for me.  Nope.  In the last few years I haven't really been doing "seasonal" colours so much.  But really any dark, vampy colours are great for winter.

Swatch Spam Sunday: Femme Fatale Cosmetics Edition

Happy Swatch Spam Sunday!  I know this is only the second Swatch Spam Sunday I have done but I really do tend to push back planned swatch spams for posts with newer things.  I can definitely plan to do more Swatch Spam Sundays (and on a regular basis) if you are interested.  Just let me know.

Today I thought it would be fun to break out some of the old Femme Fatale Cosmetics polishes.  I absolutely love the old style bottles and polishes that Femme Fatale did which is why I collected the brand for so long.  This is actually the first month that I haven't purchased a single Femme Fatale polish.  What?  Yep.  There was a couple that I really liked but the bottles were so limited that I just couldn't be bothered even trying for them.  I was also interested in the COTM but I couldn't justify the price of postage for one bottle so I got none.  Anyway, I'm getting side tracked.  Onto the polishes!

Emily de Molly Quest For Immortality - Swatches & Review (plus a catch up)

Before I jump into today's post I just wanted to do a little catch up.  I know I said that I was taking a little break over these last couple of weeks, and while that has been true, I am unfortunately being forced to take a little longer than I had initially planned.  I know have a big cut on my finger (which just so happens to be on my swatch hand) and it looks horrible in pictures.  So I am going to spare you guys the sight of it (plus save myself from the pain of acetone) for a little while and hopefully will be back to a presentable condition in a week or so.  I will still be posting here and on Instagram but it won't be anything new.  Instead I will have lots of swatch spams, a tag and well I'm not 100% sure.  It will be a surprise for us both.

Today I had originally planned to share with you Emily de Molly's June releases, however that plan went out the window.  I did manage to swatch Quest For Immortality before I cut myself so that's a good start.  I actually am still wearing it and have had it on since Saturday.  I think this is the longest time I have had the same polish on since my holiday in December.  Luckily for me it is an absolutely gorgeous polish, and definitely one of my all time favorite polishes ever!  

Quest For Immortality is a dark purple with strong blue to purple duochrome shimmer and silver ultra thin and ultra holographic micro glitter.  The formula is amazing.  It applies like a dream and is opaque in two coats.

Did I mention that I am in love with this polish?  Seriously, this polish is gorgeous and I couldn't recommend it more.

Grace-full Nail Polish June & July COTM Polishes - Swatches & Review

Grace-full Nail Polish have taken a little break to re-do their polish room (and for some little R&R).  Theresa has shared some some photos of where the magic happens over in the Facebook group.  You can join here if you haven't already.  Anyway, Grace-full Nail Polish will be releasing four new shades on Friday and I just so happen to have all four to share with you today.  These polishes make up the June and July Colours Of The Month.  Shall we take a look at them?

Calm Composure is a soft medium purple holo with gold shimmer and a subtle shift to neutral.  This on is definitely my favorite from this release.  The formula is fantastic and is opaque in two coats.

Love And Serenity is a light grey shimmer with a turquoise sheen. Another pretty polish with a good formula.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Midnight Soiree is a deep purple jelly with chameleon flakies in blue-violet-red with teeny holo microglitter.  I absolutely love this one in the bottle, but strangely don't love it on my nails.  I think it may just be little dark and hides the flakie goodness a little.  It is nice though and you can still see the flakies.  The formula is great and is opaque in two coats.

Peace And Tranquility is described as a medium purple shimmer with a tricky duochrome shimmer.  Depending on the light the shimmer shines blue or green.  The formula of this one is amazing and you could easily get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.
