MoYou London Mixed Polishes - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 9 September 2020

 PRESS SAMPLE

It just occurred to me that I have never actually posted anything from MoYou London on my blog (well until Monday's post).   How strange.  I have actually owned a few of their stamping plates for years.  I couldn't even tell you how long ago I purchased them.  Anyway, I have never used their polishes before so it was great to have the opportunity to play with some of them.  Let's take a look at the five polishes I tried.

To save me repeating myself I figure I'll just talk about these polishes together.  All polishes have great formulas (they are one coaters) and can be worn as a regular polish or as a stamping polish.  They all stamp great but I have to say they aren't the greatest over a black base.

Black Knight is a black creme.

Electric Sky is a blue creme.

Ever Green is a green creme.

Flirtatious is a pink creme.

Red Lorry is a red creme.

These are great polishes for both stamping and to wear as a regular polish.  The colours aren't ones I would grab if I had a darker base but they are great over white and light colours.

These polishes along with other colours are available at MoYou London.

Dance Legend Taupe and Graphite Stamping Polishes - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 6 June 2020

I'm back with some more swatches from Dance Legend.  I have previously tried a few of their stamping polishes (and they are great) so when I was offered the chance to swatch some new ones I said yes.  These are definitely the type of colours that are perfect for the cooler months - like Winter which is exactly what it is in Melbourne.  It's dark, it's cold and it's wet currently.  Not fun.  But you aren't here to listen to me talk about the weather.  Let's talk about these polishes.  For each of my swatches I used a black and white creme for my base and the Anna Gorelova by Dance Legend Stamping Plate.

Graphite is a dark grey stamping polish with a purple undertone.  I am a big fan of this colour and it stamps well over black and white.

Taupe is a light greenish grey stamping polish with a slight beige undertone.  This one leans more green than I was hoping it would.  It's not what I would consider to be taupe but it's definitely unique to my collection.  As you can see by my index nail this polish has started to separate which I couldn't tell from the outside of the bottle.  It was also the forth nail I stamped so it was a little strange that it did that then and not on any of the other nails.  That said, it easily mixes back together again.

I quite like both of these polishes.  Of the two Graphite is definitely my favourite.  They both stamp well although I do recommend mixing them before you start stamping to avoid what happened to me.

These stamping polishes are both available via Dance Legend.

Hit The Bottle Stonewashed & Windswept Polish - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 21 May 2020

Let's kick today's post with a little bit of a spoiler.  Don't worry you won't be seeing anything today (although I am pretty sure if you go into the Polish Pick Up group you will see the polish) but I was sent the upcoming Polish Pick Up shade from Hit The Bottle.  Along with that I was also sent Electro Candypop (which you can see here) and Stonewashed & Windswept which I will be sharing with you today.

Stonewashed & Windswept is a pale grey with a warm blue tinge to it.  This polish can be worn as a regular polish or as a stamping polish.  How awesome is that?  I love a polish that is a two in one.  The formula is a little on the thick side (which obviously is better for stamping) but it applies easily when wearing it alone.  I used one coat for my swatch and stamped using Hit The Bottle's To Love Or Not To Love stamping plate.

I love this polish!  I'm not sure if I love it more as a stamping polish or a regular polish.  It's definitely awesome as both.  It also stamps beautifully over black and white.  I'm a huge fan!

Stonewashed & Windswept is available now from Hit The Bottle.

Hit The Bottle Electro Candypop Stamping Polish - Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 12 May 2020

I have written about 1250 blog posts over the years and still to this day I have trouble starting off my posts.  You would think at this point in time that I would be in the swing of writing posts but nope.  Today I am having "writers block" - always a fun thing when you are trying to write.  Anyway, I am rambling.  Today I have the stunning Electro Candypop stamping polish from Hit The Bottle to share with you.

Electro Candypop is a turquoise creme stamping polish.  I love the colour this one but I couldn't for the life of my get it to photograph accurately.  It's definitely so much better in person.  I swatched it over black and white so you can see how it looks over both light and dark colours but I have seen it swatched over purple and other colours and it looks amazing!  I can't wait to play with it some more.

Electro Candypop is available now from Hit The Bottle.

Moyra Nail Stamping White Foil Stamping Polish, Gold & Silver Foils, & Aqua Top Coat - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 10 May 2020

Today I have a quite a few products from Moyra to share with you.  They all work well together and it would be kind of hard to separate into different posts so I thought why not just talk about them all in the same post.  Which products are we going to be talking about?  Well, I have the White Stamping Polish, the Silver and Gold Stamping Foils and the Aqua Top Coat.

White Foil Stamping Polish
This polish surprised me a little.  It seemed a little sheer in comparison to other white stamping polishes but it does stamp well.  It also dried relatively slow which allows for plenty of time to add the foil.

Silver & Gold Stamping Foils
I have very curved nails and foils don't seem to love me.  With that said, I think I am finding a way for them to work for me.  I definitely still have a bit of a learning curve with them.  I allowed the stamping polish to "dry" for about 10-20 seconds and then sponged on the foils.  I did attempt to apply the gold foil to the full nail but it didn't turn out great so I ended up having to random put the foil on to fix it.  I do love how shiny these are and definitely want to keep trying to get them for work for me.

Aqua Top Coat
If you don't know most top coats will cause foils to wrinkle.  Introducing the Aqua Top Coat...I am a big fan of this for foils.  Initially I was worried because it looked quite milky on the nails but as it dried it turned clear and the foils remained smooth and shiny!  It does dry slowly but I am ok with that.
While I definitely have a learning curve when it comes to foils and my nails I am definitely a huge fan of all of these products.  I am definitely going to have to break out the other colours in the Moyra foils that I own and practice some more.

All products mentioned are available now from Moyra Nail Stamping.

Moyra Nail Stamping Neon Pink Stamping Polish - Swatches & Review

Monday, 4 May 2020

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend.  I know I did.  Last week I received an awesome package from Moyra Nail Stamping so prepare yourself for some Moyra goodies on my blog again.  Starting with their Neon Pink stamping polish!

Neon Pink is a neon pink stamping polish.  This polish sits somewhere in between a creme and a jelly.  It's really interesting and the colour is awesome (but I am a sucker for a neon pink polish).  This polish does dry really quickly so you need to move fast.  As you can see from my swatches it swatches perfectly over white but not so great over black - which I think is because it's kinda jelly.

While this polish isn't great over black I do love it over white!  It's definitely a lot brighter in person than what it looks in my picture.  I also love the wide brush that this polish has too.  It makes it really quick and applies a good amount of polish on the plate.

The Neon Pink stamping polish is available now from Moyra Nail Stamping.  Don't forget that you can use my code TRACYMOYRA for a 10% discount off your purchase.

What's Up Nails Mixed Stamping Polishes - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 23 April 2020

After a few not so happy blog posts about What's Up Nails stickers (if you haven't seen those posts then long story short - the colours are really cool but the stickers don't stick on my curved nails so I personally can't recommend them) I have some awesome things to talk about - their stamping polishes!  I was lucky enough to be sent eight of their stamping polishes in a few finishes and I am so impressed!  Like with my other stamping polish posts I have stamped each polish over a white base and a black base so that it hopefully gives you an idea how each of these perform over light and dark polishes.  Stamping image is from What's Up Nails Geometric Trance.

Buff Is The Stuff is a beige creme stamping polish.  I love this one!  I think the colour is fantastic and it stamps beautifully over both white and black.

Fab Cab is a yellow creme stamping polish.  Again this is an awesome stamping polish.  It's great over both black and white.

Hotter Than Red is a metallic red stamping polish.  This is definitely so much better in person than in my swatch.  It is a stunning red!  While it stamps well over both black and white I do prefer it over the white.

Jay For A Day is a blue creme stamping polish.  Seriously love the colour of this one!  It doesn't look the greatest over black but OMG it is amazing over light colours (especially blue!  You'll see that mani soon).

Purrple Kitty is a purple creme stamping polish.  Seriously in love with this one too.  Again, it's not the greatest over black (definitely not terrible) but it's so good over white.

Roses Are Gold is a rose gold metallic stamping polish.  This is absolutely stunning both over white and black.

Silver Ag-ent is a silver metallic stamping polish.  You can't go wrong with silver stamping polishes and this one is awesome.

Sundae Topping is a dark brown creme stamping polish.  I'm not particularly a fan of this colour over black or white (personal taste) but it is definitely a great brown for certain types of nail art.

I love What's Up Nails stamping polishes!  They have a great range of colours and finishes and they stamp beautifully.  You can purchase their stamping from the What's Up Nail website.

Hit The Bottle Start The Day With Bubbly (Polish Pick Up June 2019) - Swatches & Review

Friday, 7 June 2019

Happy Friday everyone!  I don't know about you guys but I am excited that it's the weekend.  Mind you it's a busy weekend for me, so maybe I should be looking forward to next week?  Lol.  Anyway, today I have this month's Polish Pick Up shade from Hit The Bottle.  This is a bit of a two in one polish which I love!

Start The Day With Bubbly is a dusty lilac creme stamping polish with a warm copperish shimmer.  Now while this polish is a stamping polish it can also been worn as a regular polish.  I love it both stamped and on it's one.  The base colour is gorgeous, and that shimmer is amazing!  I'm in love!  It stamps like a dream, and the formula when using it as a regular polish is fantastic.  You can easily get away with one coat, however I used two coats for my swatch.

Moyra Stamping Foil Polish Stamping Kit 3 - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 29 May 2019

As you may be aware I recently made my first purchase from Moyra Stamping.  My main reason for this was their foil stamping polishes.  I love the idea of foils (I certainly have a lot of them in my collection) but I can never get them to work how I want them too.  When I saw that Moyra had foil stamping polishes I thought this could be the perfect solution for me.  I thought I would take the gamble and buy basically one of each (I will be sharing these with you over time) but I did discover that Moyra also sell Foil Polish Stamping Kits.  Each kit contains two of the magic foils, one foil stamping polish and two pigments.  I decided to grab Foil Polish Stamping Kit 3 which is what I will be sharing with you today.  This kit comes with the silver foil stamping polish, magic foils in silver and blue, and pigment powder 23 and 27.  For consistency I would swatch everything over black and used Moyra's Colour Book Stamping Plate.

Silver Foil Stamping Polish
This is exactly what you think it is.  It is just a silver (although more of a shimmery silver than a metallic silver).  It's quite pretty on its own and stamps perfectly.  I had zero issues with it.

Silver and Blue Magic Foils
There is definitely a learning curve when it comes to using these foils and I have since learnt that each of these foils perform slightly different.  For the silver foil it appears that dabbing the foil on in bits is better than putting the foil all over the nail in one piece.  I dabbed the foil on my pinkie while the others was placed on the full nail.  I also only used top coat (seche vite) on my ring nail.  The others don't have any top coat.

Now for the blue I tried dabbing it on my pinkie again but as you can see it doesn't seem to work as well as the silver foil.  I also tried doing over the whole nail and that seemed to have better results, but overall I'm not loving the look as much as the silver.  I might try this foil over the white stamping polish and see if that will give a better result.

Pigments 23 & 27

I haven't tried these pigments as whole nails yet so I can't comment on that but over the foil stamping polish I really like them.  They are easy to use, although they do make quite a bit of mess.  I found that dipping my nail into the jars were better than trying to apply the pigment with a brush.  On my pinkie and ring nails I have used pigment 23 and on my middle and index nails I used pigment 27.

Overall I quite like the idea of this kit.  I am definitely excited about playing some more with this kit as well as the other foils and stamping polish I have from Moyra.

The Foil Polish Stamping Kit is available from Moyra Stamping.

Hit The Bottle I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It 2.0 Stamping Polish - Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 21 May 2019

Hit The Bottle have recently added some updated versions of their stamping polishes.  I have previously shown you Magenta At Your Own Risk 2.0 (you can see my swatches and review of this polish here) and today I have I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It.

I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It is a pale mauve with a shimmer finish.  This polish is gorgeous and stamps perfectly.  My only complaint (and it's the same complaint that I have with all metallic like stamping polishes) is that is doesn't photograph as good as it looks in person.  If you are are lover of purple then this is a must in your stamping collection.  For my swatch I used Uberchic Radiate Love.

I wish you guys could see this in person.  It really is so beautiful.

I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It is available now from Hit The Bottle.

Hit The Bottle Magneta At Your Own Risk 2.0 Stamping Polish - Swatches & Review

Friday, 26 April 2019

Let's start today's post with a little bit of a "fun fact".  It has just occurred to me that I haven't done any nail art at all this month.  Well until swatching the newest addition (well technically not 'new' as it is an updated version) to the Hit The Bottle stamping range that is.  Personally, I don't consider swatching stamping polishes as nail art so I think this will be the first month in an extremely long time where I haven't done any nail art.  Eek!  It has been such a long since doing any stamping that I actually forgot to get a stamping plate to use.  So silly!  Anyway, let's take a look at this new stamping polish shall we?

Magenta At Your Own Risk 2.0 is a magenta shimmer stamping polish.  This is super pretty and stamps beautifully.  I really like how different it looks over both black and white.  I imagine it will also look different again over other base colours.  I definitely need to play with it some more.  Image used for my swatch is Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 03 stamping plate.

Magenta At Your Own Risk 2.0 is available from Hit The Bottle.

It Girl Nail Art IG113 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 22 December 2018

It's here!  My very last swatch and review post for 2018!  Next week I will have all of my "favourites".  I am both excited and a little terrified of trying to work out my favourites from the entire year but it has become a little bit of a tradition over the last couple of years so I need to keep it up.  Plus it is fun to look back over all the goodies that the year has brought.  Anyway, I thought that It Girl's IG113 stamping plate was the perfect plate to end the year on as it is filled with all these gorgeous Christmas images.

Image from It Girl Nail Art
I do love snowflake manis.  I think they are so pretty.  This snowflake image intrigued by.  There is quite big spaces between each so I wanted to see how it looked on the nails.  This one probably better as a pond mani or any sort of layered mani.  Or perhaps as a background with some other imagery over the top.  For my base I used China Glaze Water-falling In Love, Capacity To See Beyond and DJ Blue My Mind.  Stamping polish is Hit The Bottle Snowed In!

I think most years (if not every year) I do some holly nails.  I just think they are so pretty.  This image is slightly different to the other holly images I have, and it is definitely more delicate.  For this mani I used Grace-full Nail Polish Silver And Gold, Christmas Green Tint and Red Tint.

How great are the images on this plate?  I really like it for a Christmas plate.  Have you planned out your Christmas mani yet?  I know I haven't.  Better get onto that.

Lina Nail Art Supplies License To Be Sexy 02 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 19 December 2018

Today I have the very last of my Lina Nail Art Supplies stamping plates that I purchased this year to share with you - the License To Be Sexy 02 stamping plate.  I was a fan of the first License To Be Sexy 01 plate (you can see my swatches and review of that plate here) so it made sense for me to grab the second plate as well.  I didn't do anything too fancy with this plate.  I think the images speak for themselves.

Image from Lina Nail Art Supplies
I am obsessed with this base colour (it's Emily de Molly LE114) and I didn't want to take it off.  I thought this stamping image was perfect for it.

Now this next mani I am not sure if I like it or not.  It's not quite what I was going for.  For my base I used Emily de Molly LE116 and stamped using Hit The Bottle Snowed In!

Looking at this plate I think the images are really pretty, but I'm not convinced that I love it so much on my nails.  I think I need to play with it some more.  Maybe that will make me change my mind.

Have you tried this plate?

Hit The Bottle Halloween & New Stamping Polishes - Swatches & Review

Monday, 29 October 2018

Yesterday I shared my swatches and review of Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 08 stamping plate (which is also available from the Hit The Bottle website) and in that post I shared a little sneak peek of some stamping polishes I received to swatch.  Normally when I do swatches of stamping polishes I do them over a black and white base but I was inspired by Serene's (Copycat Claws) epic Hit The Bottle post (which you can find here if you missed it) to switch it up.  I loved that Serene also shows the stamping polish on a full nail so I have totally copied her.  Her post also makes me want to re do all of my swatches of my stamping polish collection from Hit The Bottle.  I'm definitely not doing that today.  Today I have my swatches and review of the new Halloween themed stamping polishes as well as three stand alone stamping polishes.

Halloween Themed Stamping Polishes
Let's start of with the Halloween themes polishes first.  Why?  Well why not?  There are three polishes in this collection.

Beware The Bates Motel is a rich, warm, mid-toned blue polish with a shimmery creme finish.  The shimmer is really subtle in this polish but it is really pretty.  As you can see from my swatch this polish stamps beautifully over both like and dark polishes.  In terms on wearing it on the full nail it is completely opaque in one coat, however I did experience some splitting when I applied top coat so needed two coats for my swatch.

Peaches 'n Scream is a pale yet bright peach/coral polish with a creme polish.  Now I didn't pay too much attention to this colour when I applied it but I did noticed that it appears to be a different colour on the nail than it is in the bottle.  I have a feeling that top coat effects this.  Either way it is a nice colour and great for the warmer months.  Again it stamps beautifully over both light and dark colours.  My swatch shows one coat on the full nail.

Slime After Slime is a bright lime green polish with a creme finish.  I really do sound like a broken record here (sorry I don't mean to) but this polish stamps well over black and white.  I also used one coat for the full nails.

New Polishes
Now onto the three new polishes.  I'm not entirely sure when these were released but they are all really pretty and are great addictions to anyone's collection.

Banana Colada is a bright yellow creme polish.  This is perfect for summer!  Personally I prefer this one over black (or any darker colour) but it does work over white.  In terms over wearing it on it's own - it is opaque in one coat however the formula is quite tricky to work with.

Bronzed Aussie is a soft metallic bronze polish.  In true metallic form, this doesn't photograph well.  It is so much nicer in person.  It's such a great colour, stamps well over black and white and is opaque in one coat.

Whiskey Latte is a pale creme/buff creme polish.  I have been looking for a good creme polish for such a long time!  I am excited to play with this one some move over other colours.  As you can see it stamps beautifully over black and white and is opaque in one coat.

I am a huge fan of these polishes.  In true Hit The Bottle style these polishes all stamp beautifully over both light and dark colours.  I'm not 100% sure if I would wear a lot of these as a full manis but that is what regular polish is for isn't it?

All of these polishes are available now from Hit The Bottle.
