August 2019 Favourites / Update

Saturday 31 August 2019

Oh August, you have been exceptionally busy for me but I am kind of happy to be done with you.  Not because you have been bad but more because September is when we officially move into our new house.  I am beyond excited for that!  I will actually get to have my very own polish room.  Previously my polishes have had to share a space but not anymore!  With the move happening next week I will most likely be a little MIA.  I do have some posts scheduled (mainly Polish Pick Up shades) next week and I am hoping to get a couple of other posts done but that will all come down to time.  I am also currently swatching my way through some new collections that will be released next month.  All I can say is prepare yourselves and your wallets!  I think that's all I really have to update you on.  Let's get into the favourites from August....

Nail Art
Sooooo it turns out that I haven't really done any nail art again this month.  Well that's not true.  I have done a little bit of nail art but I haven't shared it and in most cases I didn't even take pictures.  How bad is that?  Although in all honesty, it was kinda nice to take my bloggers hat off for a bit and just do nails for me for a change.  I will have some nail art coming in September.

Stamping Plates
I'm sure this goes without saying but I don't have any new stamping plates to add in today's post.  I have been using a few older Uberchic plates (mainly 6-01) and Maryanne Nails EYNails 01.  It's been nice to go back to revisit some of the my older plates.

Mainstream Polishes
There have been a couple of new releases from OPI and China Glaze among others but I haven't grabbed any yet.  Let me know if there are any new collections you would like me to review.

Indie Polishes
This month has definitely been all about the indie girls on my blog and I'm not made about it.  They really do make the best stuff!

Emily de Molly August Releases
If you saw my post about this month's release then you will already know how much I love all of these polishes.  Hayley is absolutely killing it this year!  I'm already dreading trying to have to narrow down my end of year favourites already (which apparently I need to do in four months!).

Emily de Molly Late Night Blooms (Polish Pick Up August 2019)
I am OBSESSED with this polish!  I'm really not sure what else I can say about it.  It was instant love.

Emily de Molly Limited Edition Cremes
Hayley releases cremes and you just know they are going to be amazing!  I seriously need Hayley to release cremes in every single shade possible.

Grace-full Nail Polish Hope Floats (Indie Love & Light August 2019)
Hope Floats is such a gorgeous polish and it raises money for a good cause.  What's not to love about that?

Hit The Bottle Gilded Beauty & Lightshow (Polish Pick Up August 2019)
HTB released two polishes this month.  Both are equally as gorgeous and a needed in everyone's collection.  Especially Lightshow.  I think a fine holo topper is an absolute must have!

That brings us to probably the shortest favourites post ever!  I'm pretty sure that September will be a little better...hopefully.  Now everyone keep your fingers crossed that I don't have any badly broken nails or any bad cuts etc on my hand during this move.

Grace-full Nail Polish Hope Floats (Indie Love & Light August 2019) - Swatches & Review

Thursday 22 August 2019

Hello!  Is anyone still there?  I feel like it has been a million years since I sat down to blog.  I have been crazy busy with house hunting but I found our perfect house!  We move in in a couple of weeks which as you can imagine means a busy time packing and unpacking.  While I feel like I haven't stopped, I can tell you that the indie girls most definitely haven't stopped!  A group of indie makers have joined together to create Indie Love & Light.  This collaboration of indie makers will be working to help build friendships and encourage a positive and loving indie community.  How awesome is that?  Grace-full Nail Polish are taking part in the charity section and will be raising money for the Brain and Behaviour Research Foundation.

Hope Floats is a soft periwinkle linear holo with lavender and blue shimmer with gold flakes throughout.  This is an absolutely gorgeous polish with a great formula.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Emily de Molly August 2019 Release - Swatches & Review

Friday 16 August 2019

In my last post I mentioned that one of the downsides to being sent polishes to swatch and review is the wait time between wearing them and then being able to show them and OMG! That is most definitely the case when it comes to swatching the new Emily de Molly polishes.  I am obsessed!  And completely head over heels with this month's release.  Hayley is absolutely killing it!  Let me show you what I mean...

Fame And Decadence is a dark grey holo with very strong copper/gold/green multichrome shimmer.  I love everything about this polish.  The colour is gorgeous, the shift is awesome and the formula is fantastic.  I used three coats for my swatch but that is because I am fussy.  You can easily get away with two coats (it was just a little see through at the tips for me).

Half Orange is a dark but vibrant purple base with orange/pink/gold/green iridescent flakes.  Love, love, LOVE!!!!  I mean its purple, it has flakes - how can I not love it?  The formula is really easy to work with and is opaque in three coats (although you can get away with two coats).

Say The Word is a vibrant green base with green/blue/purple aurora pigment.  This is another love of mine.  I love the colour, the shift that it has and the formula applies like a dream.  You can stop at two coats, however I did use three coats for my swatch.

Tenfold is a moss green base with copper/blue/green aurora pigment and silver holographic micro glitters.  Again, I am so in love with this polish as well.  The colour and shifts are gorgeous, I love this holo, and the formula is fantastic.  I did use three coats for my swatch but you can stop at two coats.

The Missing is a steel blue with orange/gold/green shifting iridescent flakes.  I'm a big fan of this one.  It's such a great colour and of course I love the flakies.  Again, the formula is easy to use.  My swatch shows three coats.

The Puzzle is a pale duck egg blue base with orange/gold/green shifting iridescent flakes.  This one I don't think photographs as nice as it looks in person.  It's really nice!  And the formula is great.  I used three coats for my swatch, but you can stop at two coats.

Undeterred is a vibrant purple metallic flake in a purple base.  LOVE!  The colour is gorgeous and the formula is awesome.  You can easily get away with one coat, however you may find it a little see through at the tips.  My swatch shows two coats.

Where You Stand is a dark base with green/mauve/pinkish red shifting foil shimmer.  This is such an awesome polish and soooooo shifty.  It actually shows more colours in person than what I could capture.  It's so good!  The formula is also great.  I did use three coats for my swatch (because I am fussy) but you can stop at two coats.

In case you can't tell already - I LOVE THESE POLISHES!  I can't pick favourites because I love them all.  I think they are must haves.  You can thank me later.

The August 2019 release will be available Emily de Molly's Australian site on Monday 19th August at 10am AEST and on the international site on Sunday 18th August at 8pm EDT.
