Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 09 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 28 April 2021

It has been years since I have purchased any Lina Nail Art Supplies stamping plates.  Apparently it was 2018 when I last posted any of their plates on my blog.  As you can image there has been quite a few releases in that time (including other products like nail polish) so when I went to make a purchase from Hit The Bottle I thought I would scroll through the Lina plates.  I have always been a huge fan of a few of their collections, one of which is the Make Your Mark collection.  I grabbed all the plates that are missing in my MYM collection so I will have plenty of swatches and reviews coming.  Starting with today.  Today we have the Make Your Mark 09 stamping plate to share with you.

Image from Lina Nail Art Supplies
When I was swatching Three Hearts Polish Lushess Lavender, I thought it would look amazing with some metallic stamping over the top.  My picture really doesn't do this justice.  It really looks so pretty in person.  I do wish that I also mattified the base colour too.

This next mani was a collaboration with my daughter and her best friend.  They both said to do a neon rainbow and selected the zig zag image of the plate.  This was really fun to wear and made for some really easy nail art.  For my base I used polishes from Grace-full Nail Polish and stamped using Hit The Bottle's As Black As Night.

I am a huge fan of this plate.  I think there are some really awesome images (although I don't know if it's because I have been doing nails for such a long time or not but I feel like I have seen quite a few of these images before).  All that said I do love this plate and can see me grabbing it out again and again.  I really want to use those layered butterfly images.  Just need to work out what it is I want to do with them.  Let me know what you think I should do.

Uberchic Beauty Business Chic 02 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 24 April 2021

OMG!  Get excited people - I have nail done some nail art again!  Yay!  And bonus points for me that this isn't a press sample.  I do realise that lately I have been posting a lot of press samples but honestly my nail time isn't what it use to be and I do prioritise things sent to me over the things I purchase.  Anyway, a couple of months ago I purchased a bunch of plates from Hit The Bottle to help me get back into the swing of doing some nail art.  So I am kicking starting with Uberchic Beauty's Business Chic 02.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
One of the things that I have always loved about Uberchic Beauty is their full sized images.  They not only look great with a multicoloured base but they also look amazing just simply stamped over a base colour.  Really I should do more basic stamping when I am time poor.  Anyway, for this mani I used Emily de Molly Ugly Mood and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

When I first saw Three Hearts Polish Poppin' Pastel Collection I knew that I needed to use them in some nail art and now was the perfect time.  I love how this mani turned out.

I love this plate!  The plate is full of really awesome full sized images which I love and I know I will grab for this plate again and again and again.

The Business Chic 02 Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty and Hit The Bottle.

MoYou London Trend Hunter 02 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Monday, 7 September 2020

 PRESS SAMPLE

Happy Monday everyone (although maybe it is still Sunday where you are)...it's definitely Monday here in sunny Melbourne.  I am so happy that the weather is starting to warm up.  We had the announcement that we will remain in a Stage 4 lockdown for a couple more weeks and then the restrictions will slowly start to ease....providing that everyone does the right thing.  Keep your fingers crossed for me that our lockdown will be over soon.  Anyway, enough about that let's talk stamping plates - in particular MoYou London's Trend Hunter Stamping Plate.

Image from MoYou London
New polish plus a new stamping polish equals a gorgeous mani.  Polishes used are Emily de Molly Element Of Strange and MoYou London Black Knight.

With the warmer weather I have been kinda craving some brighter polish and what better way to do that than with a neon polish?  The neon polish is from Emily de Molly (my bottle isn't labelled and I can't remember what it is called), the white polish is Emily de Molly Bright Retreat, the black polish is MoYou London Black Knight, and the glitter is China Glaze Night And Slay (which if I was smart I should have taken sunshine pics so you could see the beautiful holo in all it's glory).

I love this plate.  I think there is so many options of manis that you can do with it.  Plus I am such a sucker for full sized images.

Trend Hunter 02 is available now from Moyou London.

What's Up Nails B051 I Just Want Sushi Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 28 May 2020

Today I have the last of the What's Up Nails that I was sent to review.  I have had a lot of fun and found some new favourites with these products.  I definitely can recommend both stamping plates and stamping polishes from What's Up Nails.  Let's take a look at the I Just Want Sushi stamping plate shall we?
Image from What's Up Nails
I love the dragon image on this plate so it was definitely the first thing I needed on my nails.  It is quite large which unfortunately meant I lost a fair bit of it on my nails but I do like the result still.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Fade Into Black, Moyra's White Foil Stamping Polish and their Gold Foil.  I then topped it all off with Hit The Bottle's Water Tight Top Coat.

I was considering doing a gradient with one of the scene images but I couldn't quite decide how I wanted to do it so I decided to use the little sushi image instead.  I mean you can't have a sushi plate and not use the sushi image can you?  For my base I used OPI Love Is On The Cards and Don't Speak and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

This plate isn't a favourite of mine but there are some great images for the theme.  It also stamps beautifully as well.

The I Want Sushi Stamping Plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

What's Up Nails B039 Geometric Trance Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 19 May 2020

Hello!  I feel like it has been ages since I sat down and blogged.  Really it hasn't been that long but I have been behind in painting my nails (life has been really busy that by the end of the day I either don't have time to do my nails or I just can't be bothered).  So to make up for lack of nail time I have had recently I spent the full day on Saturday swatching away like a crazy person.  I now about a hundred pictures to edit.  Yay for me!  Anyway, today I have the Geometric Trance Stamping Plate from What's Up Nails to share with you guys.
Image from What's Up Nails
I love this image!  I thought it would look cool with a really shifty base.  I love how this turned.  Next time I will definitely try it with a gradient base because that would look awesome too!  For my base I used Emily de Molly LE130 and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

I actually had a couple of ideas for this next image.  I think even though it is really simple in its design that it has so much potential for some awesome manis.  For my base I used Color Club East Austin and double stamped using Hit The Bottle's Snowed In and As Black As Night.

I am a big fan of this plate.  There are some really great images on it (I do love geometric nails!) and I am excited to play with it some more.  The images all pick up and transfer well to the nails.

The Geometric Trance Stamping Plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

Moyra Stamping 88 Love Love Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 14 May 2020

Last year I welcomed some Moyra stamping plates into my collection and I fell in love with them!  So much so they all landed in my end of year favourites last year.  Now I have another one of their plates - the Love Love Stamping Plate to add to my collection and of course to share with you guys.

Image from Moyra
Technically my first time using this plate was when I was swatching the Neon Pink stamping polish from Moyra so I may as well pop that swatch in here too.  I do love this image.  I think it would look great over a glitter base or even with some lead lighting/reverse stamping.

When I sat down to do this mani I really hadn't decided which of the full sized images I was going to use but I am so happy that I went with this one.  I think it is so fun with the bright coloured background.  For my base I used Color Club Tic-Tac-Toe, Players Gonna Play, Schoolyard Crush, Extra Credit and All Dolled Up and stamped using Hit The Bottle's As Black As Night.

This image I absolutely love!  I think it would look amazing as a simple black and white mani.  In fact, that's what I had originally planned (or just using it as an accent nail in black and white).  At the last second I decided to use it over Emily de Molly Here We Go Again (because I have been dying to put this polish back on my nails).  I love how this image looks with this polish.

I am a big fan of this plate.  I really like the full sized images in particular and some of the smaller images are nice but as we know I don't really do small images.  All of the images stamp beautifully as well.

The Love Love Stamping Plate is available now from Moyra Stamping.  Don't forget to use my code TRACYMOYRA for a 10% discount on your order.

What's Up Nails B047 Everyday Is Caturday Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Friday, 8 May 2020

The important questions in life - are you a dog person or a cat person?  I personally like cats better than dogs.  Don't take that to mean I don't like dogs because I do, I just like cats more.  We have two cats in our family.  Max and Sampi.  Both equally as adorable and have very different personalities.  Anyway, I am getting side tracked here.  Today I have the Everyday Is Caturday (which it very much is in my house) stamping plate from What's Up Nails to share with you.

Image from What's Up Nails
This first mani is kinda inspired by my cat Sampi.  She is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat with lots of black and browns/nudes.  She also has a similar looking face to the cat with the black patch on its face.    For my base I used Emily de Molly Faux Creme and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

Now you can't go past the magical caticorns can you?  Such beautiful magical creatures.  For my base I sponged on Pretty Serious Cosmetics Fluffykins, Bunny Foo-Foo, Doodlebug, Cutie Patootie, Little Duckling and Peachie Poo and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

I think this is a super cute plate but it's not one that I would grab for on a day to day basis.  It's just not my style.  The images themselves stamp beautiful.

The Everyday Is Caturday stamping plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

What's Up Nails B045 Simple Shapes Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 2 May 2020

Happy May everyone.  I feel like this month may be quite an interesting one but not necessarily in a good way.  But hopefully I am wrong.  Anyway, today I have another plate from What's Up Nails called Simple Shapes which as the name suggests is a plate full of simple shapes.

Image from What's Up Nails
For this first mani I couldn't go past the zig zags/chevrons.  I think these types of patterns are some of my favourite types to wear on my nails.  I kept it nice and simple but OMG I love this mani!  I wore it for few days because I simply didn't want to take it off.  For my base I used Grace-full Nail Polish Blue Oasis and stamped using What's Up Nails Jay For A Day.

I was in a bit of a nail funk the day I did this mani.  It was one of those days where I needed/wanted to do a new mani but had no clue what to do.  I couldn't decided if I wanted something simple or something a little more 'fancy', some bright or dark, glitter or no glitter....anyway I eventfully went for Color Club Modern Pink, Emily de Molly Bright Retreat, China Glaze I'd Melt For You and A-England Merlin.  I LOVE this mani and think it will be staying on for a few days.

While this isn't the type of plate that I would normally gravitate towards I actually love it!  Yes you can do some really fancy stuff with it (think like gradients and layering) but I really love it for the simplicity of the designs.  I can see me grabbing for this a fair bit.

The Simple Shapes stamping plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

Uberchic Beauty Business Chic 01 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Friday, 17 April 2020

I'm back with the second new plate from Uberchic Beauty.  *Spoiler alert* I love Business Chic 01 just as much as I love Simply Organic (which if you haven't seen that plate then I recommend checking out my blog post here that I did the other day - serious love for this plate).  These types of plates that are predominately full sized images are always a favourite of mine and Business Chic 01 has some really awesome images on it.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
While I think these images would look amazing with some multi coloured backgrounds or some fancy stamping I just can't help but go simple.  I don't know what it is about simple stamping (think like black and white manis) but there is something so magical in the simplicity.  Anyway, for this mani I used Emily de Molly Save Your Boredom (perfect polish for quarantine) and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.  I am in love with this mani!  I wished I took more pictures of it in the different lighting so you could see all the colours that it shifts to.

As I mentioned before I think these images would look awesome a multi coloured base so I thought I would do a nice neon gradient.  For my gradient I used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and Thistle Do Nicely.

I love this plate.  There are sooooo many awesome images.  I already have some more mani ideas for this plate.   Now just for some extra nail time...

The Business Chic 01 Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

Uberchic Beauty Simply Organic Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 11 April 2020

Uberchic Beauty are back with some new stamping plates.  Spoiler alert - I love them both!  I haven't even started playing with one of them yet but it is definitely right up my alley.  I will have that plate on my blog very, very soon.  Today I have the Simply Organic Stamping Plate to share with you.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
This plate has so many awesome designs that I really didn't know where to begin or what to do first.  The images scream gradients, and lots of colour but I thought why not go nice and simple to begin with and let the image do the talking.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Fade Into Black and Powder Perfect Gold Stamping Polish.  I also added Picture Polish G'day Matte just to finish off the look.

I couldn't resist neons with this plate!  For my base I used Emily de Molly Bright Retreat and dry brushed using Orly Glowstick, Beach Cruiser and Skinny Dipping.  Stamping is done with Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.  I didn't add any top coat to this mani because I love how it looked without it.  It's definitely a favourite mani of mine!

I think all of the images on this plate are so cool!  I am beyond excited to keep playing with them.  There are soooooo many different ideas and ways to use this plate.

The Simply Organic Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

What's Up Nails B045 Sprung On Spring Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 9 April 2020

I'm back with another stamping plate from What's Up Nails.  This time it's the Sprung On Spring plate.  This plate is perfect for Easter that is literally just a couple of days away now (great excited for all the chocolate) but it's all full of some other pretty images that are great for any time of the year.

Image from What's Up Nails
I'm not sure if this is something I have ever shared or not but I love butterflies and butterfly nails!  I don't think I have a single butterfly stamping plate in my collection that I haven't used.  So naturally I just had to use this pretty butterfly image.  It has been a loooooong time since I have pulled out any tinted polishes so I broke them out again.  For my base I used China Glaze I'd Melt For You (for something different other than using a white base - although a white base would have been awesome!) and sponged on OPI Chromatic Orange, Purple Perspective, Turquoise Aesthetic, Pen & Pink and Primarily Yellow.  I stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

With Easter coming up I couldn't skip over the cute little Easter image.  I'm not sure if the second image I used for this mani is actually meant to be like an Easter egg or not but I think it works perfectly for the look I was going for.  For my base I used China Glaze Spring Jungle, Barre Hopping, Casual Friday, Water-falling In Love and Spring In My Step (over Emily de Molly Bright Retreat) and stamped using Hit The Bottle Snowed In.

This is such a pretty little plate.  I like that it has a little bit of Easter designs but it also has a lot of images that can be used any time in the year.  I had no issues with how these images stamped.

The Sprung As Spring stamping plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

What's Up Nails B015 Geo-Radical Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 5 April 2020

If you follow me on Instagram than you will have seen that What's Up Nails have sent me a huge package of goodies to play with.  Be prepared for lots of What's Up Nails manis and blog posts from me over the coming weeks.  Starting today.  Today I have the Geo-radical Stamping Plate to share with you guys.  Let's take a look shall we?

Image from What's Up Nails
I love this image so it was the first thing that needed to go onto my nails.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Bright Retreat and did some free hand triangles using Pretty Serious Cosmetics Poppet and Bunny Foo Foo.

This next mani was a complete fluke and I am in love with it.  I started with a gradient using Color Club All Fun And Games, Out Of Your League and Friend Zone and stamped using Hit The Bottle Black As Night.  I had originally planned on just using the one image on all my nails but then ended up using four different ones and I am obsessed with how this turned out.  I've never done a mani using completely different designs but I think I want to attempt to do it some more.

I love this stamping plate!  I think all the images are awesome and they stamp beautifully.  I can't wait to use this plate some more!

The Geo-Radical Stamping Plate is available now from What's Up Nails.

Uberchic Beauty Spring Kawaii Layers Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 7 March 2020

While other parts of the world as heading into some warmer weather, here in Melbourne our weather is starting to cool down.  Luckily, for me I don't have strict rules about the things I put on my nails and when because I have the new spring plate from Uberchic Beauty - the Spring Kawaii Layers plate.  This plate is full of cute little Spring (and Easter) images that you can layer up like no other.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
When I picked up this plate I honestly had no clue where to even begin with it.  My brain struggles with single images so I turned to the weather for my inspiration - grey and cloudy.  For this mani I used Emily de Molly LE171, Hit The Bottle A Flock Of Seagulls and Black As Night, Color Alike B A Sweetheart and Dance Legend Pink Stamping Polish.

This next mani is definitely my favourite that I have done with this plate.  I think it's really cute.  For my base I used OPI Lavendare To Find Courage and stamped using China Glaze Admire (image is from Got Chevron 01) and then stamped the flowers using Maniology E-tronica and Opus One, and Hit The Bottle Black As Night.

Individual images really hurt my brain trying to work out how to use them but I am happy with how my manis turn out using this plate - particularly the flower mani.  I had no issues with how the images picked up and transferred to the nails and I like that the whole plate is all layered designs.  Certainly so much easier to use than making decals.  What do you think of this plate?

The Spring Kawaii Layers Stamping Plate is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

Hit The Bottle To Love Or Not To Love 01 Stamping Plate - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 15 January 2020

If you follow me on Instagram then you will have seen that I am obsessing a little over the new To Love Or Not To Love 01 Stamping Plate from Hit The Bottle.  I love this plate so much since I first saw the pictures popping up from Michelle that I actually purchased this plate.  Much to my surprise Michelle did refund me (thank you Michelle) and said that this plate is a PR sample.  No matter how or why I have this plate the fact still remains that I love it.  Let's take a look at why I love this plate so much.

Image from Hit The Bottle
One of the first signs of having a really awesome plate is not knowing where to begin.  That is exactly what happened to me.  I honestly had no clue which image to use first.  There are so many great options and so many mani ideas that keep popping up.  I ended up going for a black and white mani first which then turned into led lighting for a little pop of colour.  I love both of these manis!  I also thought it would have been cool to do rainbow coloured hearts with the black and white background.  I am sure that is a mani I will be doing in the future.  For my base I used Emily de Molly Bright Retreat and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.  The pink is Hit The Bottle Pop Rocks from the Jelly Shots Collection.

When you have heart images and new pink polishes you just have to put them together.  I love this image and while I had originally thought of a multicoloured background (which I am sure I will do at some point) I do love the simpleness of this mani.  For my base I used two special polishes from Grace-full Nail Polish (I will be sharing these polishes in a post soon) and stamped using Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

Something I have been doing lately is checking the archives on Instagram.  It's nice looking at some of the old manis I have done over the years.  Anyway, this gradient popped up and I haven't been able to get it out of my head - so I put it back on my nails.  I love it with this image!  I actually have quite a few mani ideas for this image.  I'll definitely be using this image again and again.  For my gradient I used Picture Polish Mad Magenta, Instinct, Chillax and Totes.

There are soooooo many amazing images on this plate.  I love that it's not super girly (although I do love girly things) and it also doesn't scream Valentine's Day either.  I can see me using this plate a lot throughout the whole entire year.  I'm also really impressed with the quality of the plate.  I definitely wasn't expecting it to be bad at all - Michelle knows her stuff.  But it was my first time ever using a Hit The Bottle stamping plate and I love it!

The To Love Or Not To Love 01 Stamping Plate is available now from Hit The Bottle.

Uberchic Beauty Christmas Companion Layers Plate - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 21 December 2019

It's unbelievable how close we are to Christmas now..  How is everyone going with their Christmas shopping?  We have finished ours (I think) and just need to wrap a couple of things and then we are all done.  I do need to think of my Christmas nails.  I really have no clue what I am going to wear.  Let me know if you have any suggestions.  While I haven't decided on what I am wearing Christmas day yet I have been playing with some Christmas designs with the new Uberchic Christmas Companion Layers stamping plate.

Image from Uberchic Beauty
I was actually swatching this gorgeous green polish (coming soon from Emily de Molly) and one of the mums at school said it is perfect for Christmas.  Of course it is but plain green isn't Christmas so it needed some nail art - bauble nail art.  Stamping polishes are both from Hit The Bottle - Drop Red Gorgeous and Calypso Gold.

It's kinda funny, I sat down with a bunch of pink polishes and then some where along the lines switched to nude and gold and I am so glad I did.  I love how simple but pretty this mani is.  Polishes used are China Glaze Bourgeois Beige and Hit The Bottle Beyond The Greige and Calypso Gold.

I absolutely love that Uberchic have created this plate.  I'm not one to make decals (usually because I don't plan ahead too much for manis) so this makes for easy layered manis.  I also really like that they have clearly labeled which image belongs to what plate.  I'm going to have so much fun playing with this plate.

The Christmas Companion Layers Plate is available via Uberchic Beauty.
