August 2021 Favourites

Tuesday, 31 August 2021

Holy crap this month has come and gone super quickly.  I don't know if that's because I find lockdowns busier (although there is less running around) or if it's because I am already beginning to think about my daughter's birthday in November and Christmas.  Either way, August has flown by!  So like usual I am going to wrap up the month with all the things I have loved this month.

Mainstream Polishes
I didn't actually post any of the mainstream polishes that I have worn this month because they are all older ones which I am pretty sure I have posted on my blog at some point.  I just wanted to mention it because I have been loving digging back into the drawers and rediscovering some of my old favourites and things I have only just swatched (meaning it goes on four nails and then it's off).

Indie Polishes
It's not a favourites post without my two favourite indie brands - Emily de Molly and Grace-full Nail Polish.

Emily de Molly Fire & Ice (Polish Pick Up August 2021)
This is such an awesome and unique polish.  I really enjoyed wearing this one.

Emily de Molly August Releases
This month Hayley brought us some new colours in her matte white glitter polishes.  I have always loved these polishes and this month is no exception.

Emily de Molly August Limited Editions
As much as I love the regular release I am sooooo in love with the limited edition shades.  They are all gorgeous!  Definitely need to grab these out again soon.

Grace-full Nail Polish Beauty Of Nature (Polish Pick Up August 2021)
Grace-full Nail Polish made the best flakie polishes!  And this month's Polish Pick Up shade is no exception.  Truly stunning!

That brings us to the end of today's post.  Let me know the things you have been loving this month.

July 2021 Favourites

Saturday, 31 July 2021

I honestly can't believe that today is the last day of July.  Even more shocking is that I am actually writing this post on the 31st July.  Normally I am a lot more organised and do it the day before (or sometimes a couple of days before) but life is busy!  This month I haven't had too much time to do nails so have actually been wearing maybe one to two polishes a week.  Quite different to my daily polishing habits.  With that said today's post will be quite short as I really haven't had much happening on my blog.

Indie Polishes
No surprise that again this month I have no nail art, no mainstream polishes and that my favourites is full of Emily de Molly and Grace-full polishes.

Emily de Molly Rewind Collections
This month Emily de Molly released a bunch of polishes that we have fallen in love with over the years.  Some of these are the same to the originals while others have some slight variations.  I'm pretty sure all of these polishes were also in my favourites after their original releases.

I am a little on the fence if I should be including the holo rewind polishes or not because I didn't swatch any of these this year.  These are all the original swatches from the original release.  But they are all so pretty to not show again.

Grace-full Nail Polish Once And Floral (Indies Down Under July 2021)
This is a super pretty polish and hands down my favourite from the duo that was released during this month's Indies Down Under.

Grace-full Nail Polish Modern Vampire Collection
Grace-full Nail Polish's latest collection is a must have.  There are sooooo many stunners in this collection!

Right that brings us to today.  I do have a few things to share in August so stay tuned for those.

June 2021 Favourites

Wednesday, 30 June 2021

I'm sure the end of June has popped up out of no where.  This month has definitely been quite a busy one for me and things in July are only going to get busier.  But more on that another time.  Today let's take what will be a quick look at the things I have loved this month.  It's definitely been a quiet month here on the blog.

Nail Art
Yep - once again I have done zero nail art this month.  Maybe one day I will have the time (and motivation) for nail art again.

Indie Polishes
Indies are really the only thing that I have been wearing this year.  Aside for all the swatching I do I tend to grab for the indies when I am not swatching.  There are just so many good polishes!

Grace-full Nail Polish Dream In The Sky (Polish Pick Up June 2021)
I instantly fell in love with this polish as soon as I unwrapped it.  It's so beautiful.  I really hope that everyone who wanted this polish managed to grab themselves a bottle before it sold out.

Grace-full Nail Polish Dream In The Sky with Emily de Molly Cohesion
I debated whether I should include this mani or not but I do love it.  I would happily put this on my nails again.

Emily de Molly Basic Toppers Collection
To say that I am obsessed with this collection is an understatement.  Seriously obsessed!  They have their own special section in my polish drawers so they are quick and easy to find.

I told you this would be a quick post.  I really have struggled with time for nails this month.  But there has definitely been some really amazing polishes released this month.

March 2021 Favourites

Wednesday, 31 March 2021

I'm going to be taking a slight pause with the Polish Pick Up shade for April because today is the last day of March which means it is time to do my favourites from the past month.  March has been a busy month on my blog, but mentally it has been quite a mixed month for me.  This month we introduced two little kitties into our family (they have settled in so well and are both adorable), I celebrated 8 years on Instagram but also this month I lost one of my best friends - and my oldest friend (we have been friends for nearly 20 years).  Anyway, before I start getting all emotional over here let's talk about the polishes that I have been loving this month.

While it has been a busy month I haven't actually done any nail art but I have purchased some new plates so fingers crossed in April I will get some time to play with those.  I also haven't played with any mainstream brands so this one we are just looking at all the indie magic!

Emily de Molly An Ode To No One (Polish Pick Up April 2021)
I only shared this polish with you guys yesterday so I am sure you guys won't be surprised to see this beauty here.

Emily de Molly March Release
We all know that I love flakie polishes so to have a whole collection is like heaven.  Naturally I am not going to be picking favourites from this release.

Emily de Molly Simply Splendid (Polish Pick Up March 2021)
There definitely is a lot of flakie polishes in this month's favourites post but what can I say?  I really do love them.  I love the added black glitters in this polish too.

Grace-full Nail Polish Luminous Wings (Polish Pick Up March 2021)
I'm sure I will be saying this forever but Theresa makes the best pink polishes!  I mean look at this colour!  Love this one!

Hit The Bottle Feathered Finery
You know when you see a polish online and you fall in love with it and then you fall in love with it all over again when you see it in person?  This is one of those polishes.  Honestly, pictures don't do it justice at all.

Hit The Bottle She Dreams In Plaid (Polish Pick Up April 2021)
There are some really amazing polishes being released in next month's Polish Pick Up and She Dreams In Plaid is definitely one of them.

Three Hearts Polish Let's Party
This month I was able to try out a new to me brand - Three Hearts Polish and I have fallen in love with quite a few of the polishes I tried.  I did debate whether or not I should put the whole Birthday Duo in this collection but I am trying to narrow down the favourites to help me at the end of the year.   Of the two Let's Party definitely is my favourite.

Three Hearts Polish Poppin' Pastels Collection
This collection is right up my alley and in my opinion is Chloe's best collection to date.  My swatches aren't 100% accurate but that is neons for you.  You'll just have to trust me when I tell you these polishes are amazing.

That brings us to the end of this favourites post.  I have already began swatching polishes for April and hopefully I will also get a chance to do some nail art with the new plates I have.  But only time will tell.  April is going to be a busy month with Easter and school holidays so we will have to see.  Tomorrow I will be back with the Polish Pick Up shade from Grace-full Nail Polish.  It's a stunner!

May 2020 Favourites

Sunday, 31 May 2020

I can't work out if this month has gone really fast or really slow.  What do you think?  Has this month gone fast or slow for you?  Anyway, as we have reached the end of May it is time for me to do my monthly favourites.  So before I start rambling let's get into it shall we?

Nail Art
I have definitely gone overboard with my favourites this month but I can't help it.  There have been so many good manis that I have loved this month that I didn't want to take off so I have included most of them.  I did cut a few out (like the foil manis - I do love those but because I haven't quite perfected them I have cut them out).

Stamping Plates
I have played with a few plates this month which has been fun.  Nail art has definitely been something that I have been on and off with this year (mainly because of a lack of time) but I do love wearing nail art.

Moyra Stamping 88 Love Love Stamping Plate
This is such a pretty plate.  While it isn't full of full sized images (which are always my preference) I really love the images on here.  It definitely would be great around Valentine's Day but I like that it can be used any time of the year.

What's Up Nails Simple Shapes Stamping Plate
This plate was really fun to play with.  Yes it doesn't have all the fancy images on it but that is what I love.  Nice and simple.

What's Up Nails Geometric Trance Stamping Plate
I always love geometric images.  I think they may for some really cool nail art!

Stamping Polishes
Along with stamping plates, I was able to play with some new stamping polishes!

Hit The Bottle Electro Candypop Stamping Polish
This is a gorgeous colour and so fun to wear.  I am still yet to try it over a purple base like I have seen others do but I definitely want to.

Hit The Bottle Stonewashed & Windswept Stamping Polish
Love this one!  It doubles as a regular polish as well and is such a great colour.

Moyra Stamping White Foil Stamping Polish (and foils!)
I am no stranger to Moyra Foil Stamping Polishes and I have to say that I love them.  I still have a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the foils (also another HUGE favourite of mine) but that doesn't stop my love.

Indie Polishes
This month again I haven't played with any new mainstream polishes.  It's not that I don't love my mainstream brands or their polishes it's mainly I just don't have the funds to purchase all the things.  I am very fortunate that my favourite indie brands send me their polishes to swatchMost of the polishes that I have swatched this month I haven't been able to share yet - so stay tuned for June because there is some awesome stuff coming.

Grace-full Nail Polish Boxing Day Cremes
This were released last year but I only just got the chance to swatch them - and it's LOVE!

That is everything I have loved throughout the month of May.  As I mentioned I have already started swatching lots of polishes that are coming in June so stay tuned for those because there are some awesome things coming.  I am also planning on taking a bit of a break throughout June so blog posts may be a little sparse as well as my social media.  It's been a loooong time since I have had a break and I am definitely overdue for one so that is what I am doing.

February 2020 Favourites

Saturday, 29 February 2020

At the start of the week I sat down with my planner (it's something I always do so that I stay on top of everything).  Anyway, I sat down and saw that the page was open to Monday 24th and ends March 1st.  My brain couldn't comprehend that it was going to be March at the end of the week so turned the page back.  Yep - that week had already flown by.  So here we are again saying good bye to another month and preparing for yet another crazy month ahead.  I need a nap!

Nail Art
After having a look on my blog for what I have posted this month it appears that I really haven't had many blog posts at all this month - even though I haven't stopped swatching.  Given I tend to swatch things in advance that probably makes sense.  Anyway, in March I will be posting my swatches and review of the new Just For Claws stamping plates from Uberchic Beauty but given I have posted some of the manis I have done so far on my Instagram account I figured I can include them in my nail art favourites for the month.

Stamping Plates
I haven't actually done any reviews of stamping plates on my blog this month so I am going to skip this section but know that the Uberchic Just For Claws plates will be in my favourites for next month.

Mainstream Polishes
This month I got to play with Jessica Cosmetics California Girls Collection and I am a big fan.  The colours are really pretty and the formulas are good (even though some are a little patchy).

Indie Polishes
Aside from swatching the Jessica Cosmetics polishes I have only swatched Grace-full Nail Polish shades this month.  No complaints from me.  I love my Grace-full polishes.

Grace-full Nail Polish Mystery Girl (Hella Handmade Creations February 2020)
If you saw this post then it is no surprise that this polish landed in my favourites.  I love, love, love this polish.  Hopefully you guys managed to grab this polish for yourself.

Grace-full Nail Polish Retro Bros Collection
This is Grace-full's first full collection for the year and it was a great collection.  My favourites from the collection are Warui, Super Bros 2, A Peach For A Princess and Evil Twin.

That brings us to the end of my February Favourites.  It definitely has been a really quiet month here on my blog.  March will definitely have some more blog posts from me.  There is some really good things coming (or have just been released).

December 2019 Favourites

Thursday, 26 December 2019

On the last day of each month I always do a monthly favourites post just to wrap up the month.  December is really no exception to the monthly favourites rule - except that I don't do it on the last day of the month because I like to finish the year with a few different favourites posts.  I have done this for the last couple of years and I quite like doing it so I'm doing it again.  Starting tomorrow and all the way through until the end of the month with be a new favourites post.  Before rounding up the year let's wrap up December.

Nail Art
I finally managed to get some nail art done this month!  Woohoo!  I definitely didn't get much done but some is better than none.  Of course they are all Christmas manis.  I managed to do four (and one basic mani which I never actually photographed) and I love them all.  They were all so fun to wear.

Mainstream Polishes
I was lucky enough to receive the OPI x Hello Kitty advent calendar this month but I didn't get a chance to play with them.

Indie Polishes
Oh my beloved indies - it's this time of year that I begin to dislike how gorgeous these polishes are.  Why?  Simply because it is always hard trying to narrow down my favourites at the end of the year.

Emily de Molly Capture The Dream (Polish Pick Up December)
This is such a gorgeous shade (both with and without the magnet) and of course to formula is awesome.

Emily de Molly December 2019 Releases
While I am a massive fan of the December releases I am being tough!  My absolute favourites from this collection (in no particular order) are Whisper Of Desire, Lines We Cross, Card Trick, Thorn In My Side and Past The Breakers.

Emily de Molly Neon Cremes
I'm really not sure what I can say about these polishes other than I'm obsessed!

Emily de Molly The Real Deal (Polish Pick Up November)
This is a polish that I saw swatches of online and I just knew I had to have it.  It definitely did not disappoint.  I love how different it looks depending on your lighting.

Grace-full Nail Polish Winter Blooms (Polish Pick Up December)
This is such a great thermal.  It switches between the colours really well and both colours are gorgeous.

That brings me to the end of my favourites for December.  Now to begin working out my favourites for the entire year.  Eek!  I'll be back tomorrow with my favourite collections that were released this year.

November 2019 Favourites

Saturday, 30 November 2019

November is always one of the quickest months of the year.  This year it was jammed packed with my gymnastics competitions (and the usual gymnastic training), catch ups with people, and my daughter's birthday and party....just to name a few things.  It basically has been non stop which is why it feels like the quickest month ever.  I imagine December will go pretty quickly - but before we start talking about December let's wrap up November first.

Nail Art
How embarrassing. I’ve had yet another month with no nail art. Did I mention that November has been crazy busy?

Mainstream Polishes
It’s definitely been a quite month with nail polish too but I did get to play with the new Jessica Cosmetics Tea Party Collection and I’m a huge fan.

Indie Polishes
The indie girls have done it again this month. I honestly don’t know how I am going to narrow down my favourites at the end of the year.

Bettie Pain Silent Night (The Indie Spectrum)
I had the pleasure of trying my very first Bettie Pain polish this month and what a polish to start with.  Silent Night is stunning (and still available if you are interested).

Emily de Molly Hidden Meaning (The Indie Spectrum)
Yet another love of mine from The Indie Spectrum box this month.

Emily de Molly November Releases
Again, Hayley has killed it again this month. Sooooo many amazing polishes (and heads up: next month is full of more amazing polishes.  I’m currently swatching them now - literally. I have one of the polishes drying on my nails as I type).

Grace-full Nail Polish Christmas At Hogwarts Collection
This was a good collection but there was only a few that really stole my heart - Christmas At Hogwarts, Yuletide Ball, Silver Sparkler and Dumbledores Present.

While it has been a very busy month for me it has also been a good month full of good polishes.  Definitely not complaints from me.  What have you been loving this month?

Before I wrap up this post I just wanted to quickly talk about December.  On Monday my daughter is scheduled for surgery.  As you can probably imagine my focus will 100% there and on her recovery so nails will be taking a bit of a back seat.  I will do my best to try and stay some what active but I may disappear for a bit.  I will be back as soon as I can.  I will have a couple of Polish Pick Up shades to share with you next week (these posts will be scheduled in advance).   See you all soon xx
