Emily de Molly Pixie Garden Collection - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 2 November 2017

Today I have some new (well new-ish) Emily de Molly polishes.  The Pixie Garden Collection is an exclusive collection sold by Live Love Polish and contains six gorgeous shades.  They are quite a soft collection and I am a fan.  They are such pretty colours.  Now before going into the collection I need to point out that this collection is limited edition and has sold out previously.  Luckily, they have been restocked but I'm not 100% sure if this will be the last restock or not.  My advice: if you want them, grab them before they are gone!  Right, now onto the swatches!

Enchanted Forest is a light seafoam green jelly polish with iridescent flakes and scattered holographic shimmer.  Such a gorgeous colour.  I love the flakies and the shimmer.  The formula is easy to use but it is a little on the sheer side.  My swatch shows three coats, and their is still a very slight visible nail line in certain lights.

Fairy Wings is a lavender polish with a green flash and subtle red shimmer.  This is definitely one of my favourites from this collection.  It's stunning and the formula is great.  There is an extra colour shift that you can see in person but I couldn't capture it in my pictures.  My swatch shows two coats.

Flight Of Fancy is a light pink jelly polish with iridescent flakes and scattered holographic shimmer.  Another really pretty shade.  The formula of this one is good, however it does apply unevenly and is quite sheer on the first coat.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Peritwinkle is is periwinkle polish with a green flash and subtle red shimmer.  Just because I like to sound like a broken record- this is another pretty shade.  Like with the others this one is a little on the sheer side but it is easy to use.  My swatch shows three coats.

Satin Slippers is a pink-toned nude polish with a strong teal shimmer.  This polish was one that I didn't think I would like so much, but much to my surprise I am a really big fan.  There is something so beautiful about it.  The formula is great and easy to use.  My swatch shows three coats.

Stardust is a sheer white jelly polish with iridescent flakes and scattered holographic shimmer.  This one is really stunning and I wished that I had sunshine when I wore it so you could see the holo.  I do think that this one is a little too sheer for my personal taste.  Next time I would definitely wear it over a base colour.  I used four coats for my swatch.

I really like each of the polishes in this collection.  They are all so pretty and are all easy to work with.  If I had to pick my favourite out of all of these polishes I would have to say Fairy Wings, closely followed by Flight Of Fancy, Satin Slippers and Stardust.

The Pixie Garden Collection is limited edition and is available now from Live Love Polish.

Powder Perfect Cursed Castle Trio - Swatches & Review

Monday, 8 May 2017

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you have all had a good weekend.  I have had a pretty busy weekend but it has been great catching up with so many people I haven't seen in a while.  Now to prepare myself for another busy week!  Enough chatting about my weekend, let's talk new pretties from Powder Perfect.  They have recently released a trio for Live Love Polish called the Cursed Castle Trio.  Now even though this is a trio I have a lot of pictures.  But you can never have too much of a good thing can you?

The Castle's Master is a deep blue polish with purple and green micro shimmer.  This is such a nice colour and the formula is easy to use.  It does apply unevenly on the first coat, but evens out on the second.  I used two coats for my swatch (with a little extra polish on my tips).

The Enchanted Rose is a rose red polish with purple micro shimmer.  I love this one.  It is such a gorgeous colour.  The formula is easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats, however I am questioning if I should have done a third coat.

The Inventor's Daughter is a gold holographic polish with gold micro flakes.  The formula is easy to use and you can get away with two coats.  I used three coats for my swatch.

This is such a pretty trio and very fitting for Beauty And The Beast (the inspiration behind this trio).  My personal favourite would have to The Enchanted Rose.  It's such a stunning polish.

The Cursed Castle Trio is available now from Live Love Polish and will be available from Powder Perfect on May 11th.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Live Love Polish Store Exclusives (Summer Siren Set) - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 12 March 2017

It's been forever since I have posted about Femme Fatale Cosmetics and I thought now was a great time to do another post.  As you may know I am trying to swatch all of the polishes that I purchased last year, and there was a lot of store exclusives from Femme Fatale that I purchased.  I believe that Femme Fatale makes up the bulk of the things I need to swatch from last year, but I will be trying to space them out.  Anyway, around June last year Femme Fatale released four store exclusives for Live Love Polish in a set called the Summer Siren Set.  At this time I was collecting all of the Femme Fatale polishes, so naturally grabbed them all.

Coral Grove is a copper and coral linear holo packed with holo glitters and flakes.  I think this is really pretty, but it is quite sheer.  I used three coats, however I should have done a forth.

Sea Glimmer is a sheer plum jelly base packed with silver holo glitters and luminous golden shimmers.  Now because this one is so sheer I did two coats over a white base.  I think it looks quite pretty.

Siren Melodies is a soft periwinkle blue crelly, with pink shine and scattered holo.  This one I was really excited to try.  It looks so pretty in the bottle, however I found it to be really sheer.  It definitely disappointed me.  I decided to layer it over white and it applied so unevenly.  This one definitely looks better in the bottle I think.  My swatch shows two coats over white.

Twinkling Eve is a rich velvet purple with copper shimmer and linear holo.  This one definitely has the best formula of this set.  It applies even and is easy to use.  Plus it is pretty.  I used three coats for my swatch.

One of the things that I notice with Femme Fatale polishes (and one of the reasons I stopped collecting them all) is how sheer they are.  I honestly can't recall the last time that one of there polishes only took two coats.  I think these polishes are pretty but I can't say they overly excite me.

The Summer Siren Set is no longer available as a set but the polishes seem to be still available from Live Love Polish.

Powder Perfect And Live Love Polish Romance Of Nature Collection - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 28 May 2015

I'm back with another Powder Perfect collabation.  This time, Powder Perfect has teamed up with Live Love Polish and has created the Romance Of Nature Collection.  This limited edition collection consists on six polishes and I am excited to share with you five of the polishes.

The formula of these polishes are all fantastic.  They apply like a dream and are opaque in two coats which is what I have used for all of my swatches.

Beneath The Moon is described as a romantic dusty pink scattered holographic polish.  Such a beautiful colour.

I absolutely love this collaboration collection.  My favorites would have to be Equinox and Storming Brewing.  Both of them I didn't want to take off after swatching them.  I know I will be needing to grab full sized bottles of this collection.

This collection will be available on Friday 29th May from Powder Perfect and Live Love Polish.  Don't forget that this collection is limited edition so get in quick.
