June 2020 Favourites

Tuesday, 30 June 2020

Hello, hello!  Long time no see.  It feels like forever since posting and I'll be honest - it's been nice having a break.  I haven't been swatching much lately or really doing my nails at all.  During my break I have been able to go back and re wear some of my previously loved polishes that I rarely get the opportunity to wear.  Like Emily de Molly Out Cold.  I'm wearing that on my nails and loving it!  Anyway, despite being on a break it felt a little wrong not to do a monthly favourites post.  So here we are...

Nail Art
It's not really a surprise for my to say that June hasn't had any nail art.  Actually I did do some very basic nail art at some point but I never photographed.

Stamping Polishes
I played with a few stamping polishes this month but really there was only one that I love!

Hit The Bottle I Am Woman, Hear Me Pour (Polish Pick Up June)
This polish doubles as a regular polish and a stamping polish.  It's gorgeous, it stamps perfectly, is a one coater and also looks awesome with no top coat (it has a matte finish).  Love, love, love!

Indie Polishes
Again this past month I haven't played with any mainstream polishes (aside from ones that I have previously swatched before) but I have played with a few indies.  Indies are definitely something that I have been reaching for more and more lately.  In fact, the last 3-4 manis I have done have all been Emily de Molly polishes... and the mani before that was a Grace-full.  So many stunners from these ladies!

Emily de Molly Coolth (Polish Pick Up June)
This was one of those polishes that I loved so much that I wore it for nearly a week (and that was before I took a break).  The colour is gorgeous (despite being a pain to photograph) and I love the matte white glitters.  It's really a simple yet awesome polish.

Emily de Molly June 2020 Releases
I honestly could put the full release this month in my favourites but I have been a good girl and narrowed them down to these five - Open Work (which I recently had back on my nails), Thereabouts, Resort To Swim, Stuck In The Clouds and Only Us.

Emily de Molly Limited Edition June Polishes
Along side the amazing release this month, Emily de Molly also released two limited edition polishes and they are both gorgeous!

Grace-full Nail Polish Boozy Smurf (Polish Pick Up June 2020)
This is an incredible blue polish that I am definitely needing back on my nails.  Maybe it will be my next mani...

That brings us to the end of a very small favourites post.  Aside from these things mentioned already I really have loved rediscovering some of my older polishes.  It's been so nice (although a little challenging to workout what to wear) having them back on my nails.

Now you may be wondering what is going to happen in terms of July.  Well honestly I have no idea at the moment.  My daughter is on school holidays for the next couple of weeks and we might be heading back into a lockdown again so I'm not sure how much nail time I will have.  It will be a wait and see thing.  Despite swatches and reviews would you be interested in seeing what I wear on my nails?  I definitely don't change them often and it will most likely be things I have already worn.  Let me know what you think.

June 2019 Favourites

Sunday, 30 June 2019

I'm a little all over the place at the moment.  I have no idea where the end of June has popped up from so I nearly forgot about monthly favourites.  Oops.  I also nearly wrote May 2019 Favourites - just shows you where my head is at.  Anyway, it's June Favourites time so let's take a look at all the things that I have been loving this month.

Nail Art
This month as been a little bit of an average month when it comes to nail art.  And by average I mean that I haven't done a lot of nail art, but I also haven't done hardly any.  Does that make sense?  Anyway, these are the manis that I have loved this month!  There are a couple of others that I couldn't have added by I am being tough.

Stamping Plates
There have been a few stamping plates that I have fallen in love with this month.

Moyra Stained Glass Stamping Plate
I have soooooo much love with this plate.  It is unique to my collection, stamps beautifully and has given me some gorgeous manis that have turned out better than I thought they would.

Uberchic Cold Blooded Stamping Plate
This plate has definitely been a lot of fun to play with and it's one that I look forward to using again.

Uberchic Beauty Warm Blooded Stamping Plates
If you saw my blog post for this plate then you will know that I can't decide if I like this plate more or the Cold Blooded plate - so they are both in my favourites for this month.

Stamping Polishes
I only played with one new stamping polish this month and oh boy!  I am in love!

Hit The Bottle Start The Day With Bubble (Polish Pick Up June 2019)
While this is technically a stamping polish it can also be used as a regular polish and it is gorgeous!  I can't fault it in anyway.

Mainstream Polishes
This month I haven't really played with any new mainstream polishes - with the exception of Jessica Cosmetics Rendezvous Collection.  While I do like this collection (the colours are great for Winter and the formulas are great) I don't consider this collection a favourite.

Indie Polishes
My indie girls have done it again this month!  I really don't know how they do it.

Emily de Molly High Degree (Polish Pick Up June 2019)
The indie girls have killed it this month with all of their Polish Pick Up polishes.  You will see all of the polishes I swatched in my favourites line up.  But how can I not?  I mean look at how amazing High Degree is?  I am in love with the colour and obsessed with the glitters.

Grace-full Nail Polish Helms Deep Fortress
There is one particular stand out in the Roads Go Ever On Collection by Grace-full Nail Polish - Helms Deep Fortress.  It's gorgeous!

Grace-full Nail Polish Mount Wellington (Polish Pick Up June 2019)
Did I mention that I love the polishes in the Polish Pick Up this month?  I'm not sure pictures really do this polish justice but Mount Wellington is gorgeous and so shifty.

Grace-full Nail Polish Mrs Arrow (Hella Handmade Creations June 2019)
This is another gorgeous polish from Grace-full that I fell in love with this month.  It is absolutely stunning!

Hit The Bottle Stuck In The 80s Collection
This is hands down the best collection that I have played with this month.  I love neon polishes (I always have and probably always will) and this collection is just that - neons and bright colours!  The formulas are amazing and bonus points - these polishes stamp!  What's not to love?

Other
One of my favourite things that happened this month is that I became a Maniology Ambassador.  Maniology (formally known as Bundle Monster) has been in my life for many, many years (fun fact: I started using Bundle Monster products before I joined Instagram - so over 6 years ago) so to now to be able to call myself a Maniology Ambassador is amazing.  I am so grateful for this opportunity.  Thank you to everyone that has used my affiliate code far.

For those of you who don't know my affiliate code is OLIVIA10.  This code will give you a 10% discount off your order (yay for discounts).  I do earn a small commission off your purchase (at no extra cost to you) which I will be using to put back into my blog - ie buying new products to swatch and review.  Blogging is definitely an expensive hobby lol.

That brings us to the end of this month's favourites post.  I hope you have enjoyed it.  Now bring on July!

June 2018 Favourites

Saturday, 30 June 2018

Look at me blogging twice this week!  I actually do miss having the extra time to do my nails regularly and blogging.  I definitely don't miss editing photos though. That is the one downside to blogging if you ask me.  Anyway, I know I haven't blogged much at all this month but I still have some things that I have loved and thought I should share.

Nail Art
This month I think I only managed five nail art manis (well ones that I can share anyway).   These two manis are easily my favourite from the ones that I did.

Mainstream Polishes
I haven't really tried too many mainstream polishes this month (although I do have another new collection from Color Club sitting in my swatch rack waiting for me - they look really pretty).

Color Club Halo Chrome Collection
I really wasn't too sure what to expect from this Color Club collection when I first saw it but I was very pleasantly surprised when I swatched them.  My personal favourites from the collection are Is It Love Or Luster?, Metal Of Honor and Oh The Irony.

Indie Polishes
I actually have tried quite a few indie polishes this month, however most of them are ones that I can't share just yet (stay tuned for July).  There was one polish that I did fall in love with though.

Emily de Molly Occupied Cities
This polish was released as part of this month's Hella Handmade Creations and I absolutely love it!

piCture pOlish Royal
I never know where to include piCture pOlish in these types of posts (are they mainstream or are they indie) but today I am giving them their own category!  This month my very own collaboration with piCture pOlish was released - Royal.  Naturally I absolutely love it.  I am currently wearing it again now!

That is all of my favourites for this past month.  It's actually quite odd to have such a short post of favourites but next month I can sense it will be a much longer post indeed.

What are some of the things you have been loving this month?  Let me know in the comments.

June 2017 Favourites

Friday, 30 June 2017

Can you believe that we are already half way through this year already?  It's actually a little scary how quickly this year has gone by so far.  I have even seen people starting to count down until Christmas.  I am definitely not ready for that at all.  Anyway, let's talk about June.  June has been a quiet month for me on the blog front which was nice to have a little break. This month was also the first ever Aussie Indie Con which was AMAZING! I had so much fun meeting so many people, and shopping....so much shopping!  If you are interested in seeing what I picked up at Aussie Indie Con you can see my haul here.  Between the things that I purchased there, plus online shopping, it's fair to say that my swatch racks are overflowing!  I haven't had a chance to play with the majority of things yet so I'll leave them out of today's post (undoubtedly a lot of these will be seen in some future favourites posts or mine).  Today let's focus on the things that I have used and loved throughout the last month.

Nail Art
Nail art has definitely been at an all time love.  I really haven't done a lot of nail art this month.  That being said I still have quite a few favourites.  I didn't actually realize until I put these manis into a collage together, I have been using the same technique a lot this month.  It's super easy to do and I think it looks really pretty.  I can do a pictorial if you guys are interested.  Just let me know.

Stamping Plates
As I mentioned earlier, I haven't really done a lot of nail art this month which means I also haven't been playing with mani new plates (or older plates for that matter).

Uberchic Beauty Collection Eighteen
This collection is definitely one of my favourite collections that Uberchic has done.  There are so many fantastic designs across the collection and like all Uberchic plates, they stamp beautifully.  You can see what manis I did with these plates in my review post here.

Stamping Polishes
It's been a while since I have had new stamping polishes to play with and I am always on the look out for new ones - especially creme stamping polishes.  I love creme stamping polishes!

Hit The Bottle
I was lucky enough to receive four stamping polishes from Hit The Bottle this month and I think they are awesome.  They stamp beautifully over both black and white and are really nice colours.  They were one of the tables that I visited at Aussie Indie Con and had to grab some more of their creme stamping polishes as well as the holographic ones.  I am excited to try those!  Polishes shown are Stop And Smell The Lilacs, Let's Go To The Peach, Drunk Tank Pink and Drop Red Gorgeous.

Indie Polishes
This month the focus has definitely been on all indie polishes.  With the lead up to Aussie Indie Con there was a lot of new things being released and exclusives!  So many gorgeous exclusives!

Emily de Molly 5th Anniversary Trio
Emily de Molly celebrated their 5th anniversary this month in the most beautiful way - with a trio of polishes.  I love each and every one of these polishes.  You can see more swatches of this trio here.  Polishes are Room For More, Dusk's Remaining Light and Overcast Quartz.

Emily de Molly Aussie Indie Con Exclusives
This is another trio of polishes that I am loving from Emily de Molly this month.  Seriously how stunning are these polishes?  I actually wore the creme for about three days this month.  You can see more pictures of this trio here.  Polishes are Glee Ridden, The Company I Keep and Lost Direction.

Emily de Molly June Releases
It's definitely been a busy month for Emily de Molly with zero complaints from me.  If you didn't already know, EdM is one of my favourite indie brands and has been so for years.  Literally!  They have some of the best formulas that I have tried and the colours are stunning!  I fell in love with these six polishes from the June release.  You can see all of the released (and lots of pictures) in my swatch and review post here.  Polishes from left to right are LE52, Voice Of My Love, The Eighth Letter, LE51, Traverse The Skies and Water Balance.

Grace-full Nail Polish Aussie Indie Con Exclusives
Did I mention that there were a lot of exclusive polishes that were released this month?  Grace-full Nail Polish did release quite a few and I was lucky enough to receive three of them (I then stupidly forgot to pick up the others on the day - but I did remember to grab an upcoming collection which I am so excited about!).  I particularly fell in love with two of the exclusives - Darling Of The Harbour (top) and I Wish I Was There (bottom).  You can see more pictures of this and the other exclusive I have in this post here.

Powder Perfect Gallery Of Dreams
Unfortunately Powder Perfect were unable to attend Aussie Indie Con this year, however they were still involved in their own special way.  They did free shipping on their site over the Aussie Indie Con weekend, put in a stunning polish into the VIP bag and of course made a very special exclusive polish called Gallery Of Dreams.  This polish is available on the Australia website and it will be on the international site soon.  You can see more swatches and my review here.

Mainstream Polishes
There really hasn't been too many new mainstream polishes that I have used this month that I love.  I definitely have a few things in my swatch racks (like the Color Club Pop Play Collection) that I have used in some nail art and have been loving but I haven't used them all or swatched them yet so I will have to leave those out for this month.

Your Favourites
Normally I would post what the top nine most like pictures of mine have been on Instagram, but honestly I don't post on there as much as I use to - and I definitely don't post everything I do so I have decided to skip that collage as it really doesn't represent what it should.

The blog posts you guys have been loving this month are:

Apparently I am not the only one who has been loving Emily de Molly's this month lol.  I am a little bit surprised to see that a haul post made it into the top three for the month though.  Do you guys like seeing haul posts or was it because it was related to Aussie Indie Con?  Let me know.  I am curious to know and would consider doing more haul posts in the future if that is something you are interested in.

Anyway, I think that wraps up everything for June.  July is going to be a busy month on the blog front for me.  I have soooooo many new things to play with (and more coming - have I mentioned that I have a shopping addiction? Lol).
