December 2019 Favourites

Thursday, 26 December 2019

On the last day of each month I always do a monthly favourites post just to wrap up the month.  December is really no exception to the monthly favourites rule - except that I don't do it on the last day of the month because I like to finish the year with a few different favourites posts.  I have done this for the last couple of years and I quite like doing it so I'm doing it again.  Starting tomorrow and all the way through until the end of the month with be a new favourites post.  Before rounding up the year let's wrap up December.

Nail Art
I finally managed to get some nail art done this month!  Woohoo!  I definitely didn't get much done but some is better than none.  Of course they are all Christmas manis.  I managed to do four (and one basic mani which I never actually photographed) and I love them all.  They were all so fun to wear.

Mainstream Polishes
I was lucky enough to receive the OPI x Hello Kitty advent calendar this month but I didn't get a chance to play with them.

Indie Polishes
Oh my beloved indies - it's this time of year that I begin to dislike how gorgeous these polishes are.  Why?  Simply because it is always hard trying to narrow down my favourites at the end of the year.

Emily de Molly Capture The Dream (Polish Pick Up December)
This is such a gorgeous shade (both with and without the magnet) and of course to formula is awesome.

Emily de Molly December 2019 Releases
While I am a massive fan of the December releases I am being tough!  My absolute favourites from this collection (in no particular order) are Whisper Of Desire, Lines We Cross, Card Trick, Thorn In My Side and Past The Breakers.

Emily de Molly Neon Cremes
I'm really not sure what I can say about these polishes other than I'm obsessed!

Emily de Molly The Real Deal (Polish Pick Up November)
This is a polish that I saw swatches of online and I just knew I had to have it.  It definitely did not disappoint.  I love how different it looks depending on your lighting.

Grace-full Nail Polish Winter Blooms (Polish Pick Up December)
This is such a great thermal.  It switches between the colours really well and both colours are gorgeous.

That brings me to the end of my favourites for December.  Now to begin working out my favourites for the entire year.  Eek!  I'll be back tomorrow with my favourite collections that were released this year.

December 2018 Favourites

Monday, 24 December 2018

Before I jump into all of my end of year favourites I need to wrap up December.  Given this has been a bit of a quite month on the blog front (but OMG what an absolutely crazy month it has been outside of nails!) this post is going to be a relatively short one.  I imagine that the yearly favourites might be quite lengthy but we'll see about that.  Anyway, onto December's favourites!

Nail Art
Before going into this month I was honestly thinking it was going to be quite on the nail art front, but so it turns out I have actually done quite a bit of nail art.  Go me!

Stamping Plates
I have been playing with a few stamping plates this month.  Not because I purchased them recently.  It's pretty much all ones that I purchased throughout the year and didn't get around to posting for one reason or another and I needed to get them done to help me get my goal that I set out for myself at the start of this year.

It Girl Nail Art IG113
You can't go wrong with this Christmas stamping plate.  It has a fantastic range of Christmas images!

Lina Nail Art Supplies Spooklicious 03
It definitely is very strange putting in a Halloween plate in a December favourites post but I didn't post it until earlier this month and it is a cool plate.  There are some seriously great images - I'm excited to play with it some more next year.

Mainstream Polishes
I have a couple of mainstream polish collections that I have fallen in love with.  Well not necessarily the full collection but quite a lot of the polishes from the collections.

Color Club Hypnotic Hologram Collection
This is such a super sparkly and pretty collection.  For the most part the formulas are pretty good too.  Most are fully opaque in three coats, while others need to be sponged on.  Given how much these sparkle, I'm more than ok with having to sponge these on.

OPI The Nutcracker And The Four Realms Collection
I'm a big fan of this year's Holiday Collection from OPI.  There are so many great shades.  My favourites though are Tinker, Thinker, Winker?, Berry Fairy Fun, Dreams Need Clara-fication, Lavendare To Find Courage and March In Uniform.  I could add a few more to this list but I am trying to behave a little.

Indie Polishes
It isn't a favourites post of mine if it doesn't include polishes from Emily de Molly or Grace-full Nail Polish.  This month I have polishes from both brands.

Emily de Molly December Releases
This month EdM have released some amazing polishes - most of which I consider to be 'must haves'.  My favourites are Save Your Boredom, Just Your Type, Chrome Buttons, Seventh Seal and Silk And Denim.

Emily de Molly Limited Edition December 2018 Polishes
I try and behave myself when it comes to buying polishes but as soon as I saw this month's limited edition polishes I knew I had to have them.  Well it was mainly LE114 that I fell in love with from Hayley's swatches but I am very happy that I picked up the three that I did.

Grace-full Nail Polish Fairy Footprints (Polish Pick Up)
Grace-full Nail Polish have done some amazing polishes for the Polish Pick Up and December is no exception.  Fairy Footprints is a stunning colour, has a glorious amount of sparkle and an amazing formula.

That brings me to the end of this month's favourites.  As tomorrow is Christmas Day (woohoo) I am planning on spending it with my family but I will be back on the 27th to kick start my end of year favourites posts.  I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

December 2017 Favourites

Tuesday, 26 December 2017

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you have all had a great day (or are having a great day if you are reading this post on Christmas Day).  Today I have my monthly favourites to share with you.  This post may seem a little odd for a couple of reasons.  One - it's not quite the end of the month, and two - I haven't really posted much at all this month.  I have done a favourites post every month this year and I really didn't want to skip December.  Why am I not waiting until the last day of the month like I usually do?  Like last year, I am planning on doing a bunch of favourites posts for the whole year - polishes, stamping plates etc.  It's definitely going to be really hard trying to narrow down my favourites for the year.  Anyway, here are my December favourites.

Nail Art
This month definitely has been my quietest month with nail art....maybe ever?  I honestly don't recall a month where I did so little nail art.  There really hasn't been any manis that I haven't like, but none that I was overly obsessed with.  If I had to pick favourites for the month then it would have to be these are my top two:

Stamping Plates
I have played with a few stamping plates this month and have fallen in love with them all.

Lina Nail Art Supplies Can't Wait For Xmas 02
Such a great holiday plate.  I love the mix of Christmas and Winter images on this plate.  It means that I can use it a couple of times a year.

Powder Perfect Christmas 1
Again, you can't go wrong with Powder Perfect's Christmas plate at this time of year.  There is such a good mix of designs.

Uberchic Beauty Collection 22 Stamping Plates
I am such a massive plan of Uberchic's latest collection.  There are so many awesome designs.  I can't wait to play with these plates more.

Mainstream Polishes
Well this is probably a first.  I don't actually have any mainstream polish favourites this month.  Probably because I haven't really played with many new mainstream polishes.

Indie Polishes
It's not really a monthly favourites of mine if there isn't any Emily de Molly polishes in there is it?  I am pretty sure that I have at least one EdM polish in my favourites every month this year.  Picking my top indie favourites this year is going to be exceptionally hard.

Emily de Molly December Releases
I really do like all of the December releases but I am being tough and narrowing down my favourites.  Tied To Mystery, High Contrast and Untapped Potential, closely followed by Downward Spiral and Swimming In Circles are my favourites.

This monthly favourites definitely seems a little sad because it doesn't have much in it compared to other months.  It is what it is I guess.  Now to try and narrow down my favourites for the whole year.  This is going to be really difficult.
