The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades: Day Four 1970s

I'm declaring this week as a bit of a learning curve.  Yesterday I learn the very hard lesson that vinyls and humidity do not play well together (and again I was reminded that heat and polish don't play well either).  Today I have learnt that I should avoid free handing things when it's hot.  Well really I should just avoid all forms of free hand.  Anyway, today I had in my head to do the 1970s and do a nice bright tie dye, very hippy-ish mani.   For whatever crazy reason I decided to free hand it rather than sponge.  Yep, I have no rational behind that decision.  Lucky for me most of my background can be hidden with a stamp.

For this mani I used China Glaze's Daisy Know My Name?, Lime After Lime, UV Meant To Be, That's Shore Bright, Red-y To Rave and None Of Your Risky Business.  Stamping done using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping and Bundle Monster BM-007.

And because it is good to have a laugh I thought I would include a picture of the base before I stamped over it.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that tomorrow is a better nail art day for me.

Don't forget to check out all the other Digit-al Dozen ladies.

  5. Thanks Kathleen. I just used a detail brush and tiny strokes going around in a spiral. I'm not sure how well a tutorial will go for a blog post with this and I don't do videos. Maybe in the distant future I may start but at the moment I don't have the time (or knowledge)

  6. So gorgeous & that background is faultless. You're so hard on yourself, but then again aren't we all! Loving your decade manis so much!

    1. Thanks Vicky. We are all definitely our own worst critics but I think that is kinda a good thing. It pushes you to grow and do better :)
