The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades: Day Five 1980s

I have officially made it through the first month of the Digit-al Dozen for 2017.  Woohoo!  It has been a little bit of a bumpy ride this week, but I think we are ending it ok.  I thought it was only appropriate for me to do a 1980s mani because I am a 1980s baby.  So yes, I really am that old or that young depending on which way you want to look at it.  If you ask me how old I am, you will most likely get a blank look from me, followed by me trying to work out what year we are in and then some quick maths.  The years all start to roll into one after a while, or does that just happen to me?

Today's mani is a result of me googling prints from the 80s.  There are so many different prints out there that would make for some great nail art!  Google is awesome!  Anyway, for my base I used Orly's Vintage, and then free handed stripes with Pretty Serious Cosmetics Absence and Bundle Monster's Gobi You.  I then stamped Pueen's 05 stamping plate and Powder Perfect's White Stamping Polish.

I quite like this mani.  I really need to work on my free hand though....or just stick to stamping.  I love stamping.

Which has been your favorite Decade that you have seen through out the Digit-al Dozen blog posts?  And I'm not just talking about my blog posts.  I have been loving seeing what everyone has been coming up with.  Bring on February's challenge!

  1. I love this mani Tracy, I'm also a 80s baby and some of the patterns from that decade were crazy. I think the combination of perfect stamping and freehand is brilliant, it looks great.

    1. Thanks Vicky. Yay for 80s babies! Some of the patterns definitely make for some questionable fashion pieces but for nail art there is so much inspiration. I do like the mix of free hand and stamping too. Gives it a different kinda look.

  2. I love these and I have really been enjoying your nail art!!! I was a teen in the 80's, so this was my decade. (Psst...I am 47 now and only discovered nail art and makeup within the last 3 years....nothing like being late to that party. :D )

    1. Thanks Christy. There has definitely been a lot of nail art happening and more coming! I'm desperately waiting for some new pretty polishes to be released so I have some new things to swatch. It's a hard waiting game lol.

There's nothing wrong with being late to the party. I don't do make up. Nails on the other hand have been a thing that I have done on and off for years. Definitely hasn't been as full on until 2010 but it's always been there. Wow! 2010 was so long ago now I think about. Where does the time go?
