The Digit-al Dozen Does Decades: Day Three 1960s

You know how sometimes you go into a mani thinking it's a great idea, but then everything that can go wrong does?  Welcome to that mani!  I would have re attempted this mani but the time and the weather really wasn't going to allow for it.  What am I talking about?  Well it was a lovely (and by lovely I mean stinky hot and and really humid) day when I sat down to do this mani.  Base colour applied fine but starting bubbling.  That's ok because I am about do to nail art over the top of it.  Then comes the vinyls - they struggled to stick to my nails (I think all the stickiness melted off).  Managed to fill in the colour, add top coat and then what do you know - it's bubble city.   So I'll take this time to apologize to all the other Digit-al Dozen girls (and everyone having to see this mani).  It's really not my best work.  Have I mentioned that I don't like Summer?

Polishes used are China Glaze's Sand In My Mistletoes (base colour), Happy Go Lucky, Feel The Breeze, Don't Messa With My Heart, and I'll Pink To That.  Nail vinyls are the Psychedelic Vinyls from Xroma Nail Polish & Vinyls.

I originally had planned to combine today's mani with the 30 Days Of Colour Challenge theme of pink which is why this mani is quite pink but I have decided to do another pink mani.  Why?  Because I love pink!

I can't wait to see what the other ladies have come up with today.  Hopefully their manis were more successful than mine.

  1. Well I think you're nuts! This is great and not a fail at all. I'll show you what a fail really looks like in a couple days!

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't care for summer. And, I'm glad you posted these - they're fun to see (only the flaws are noticeable in the second photo) - but also for the humor. It's good to know we all struggle sometimes. ;)

    1. You definitely aren't the only one. I think summer is overrated. Spring is perfect weather for me. It's not too hot and it's not too cold.

Everyone struggles with something (and if they tell you they don't then they are lying!). The struggle was definitely very real with this mani! lol

  4. Vinyls are evil and I hardly ever use them because the struggle is sooo real. Summer is probably my least favorite season when the humidity is high. Do you have air conditioning?

    1. Stamping is definitely a lot easier than vinyls, and for me they leave less room for error. I really should stick to stamping lol. We don't have air conditioning, but we do have evaporative cooling which is fine when it is no higher than 31 and not humid. Sadly summer here is usually above 32 and humidity. It's gross. Bring on the cooler weather!

  6. I love summer, but I can sympathise with the bubbling and battling with vinyls! Although I think these look great myself :)

    1. Thanks Kerry. Yay for snow! I wish we got snow here. Although that being said I probably would say it's too cold then lol.

  7. I don't think I can really see any of the bubbling in the photos actually! I think the nails look super fun! Love the color combo and the design is super fun!

    1. Thanks Sarah. They may be more noticeable in person. All I can see with this mani is faults. I'm my own worst critic and I'm ok with that lol. I do love the colour combination and the design is nice.
