Picture Polish Vintage (Part) Collection - Swatches & Review

Monday, 1 April 2019

Today Picture Polish celebrates their 10 year anniversary!  It's such a huge milestone.  Not only are they celebrating with a limited time only sale (who doesn't love a sale? - be sure to check out all the sale details on their page) but they have also released a Vintage Collection.  This collection consists of six pastel chrome polishes and I just so happen to have two of them to share with you today.

Dame is described as a neutral pastel chrome polish.  This one does have visible brush strokes, especially on the first coat.  I found that they seemed to even out a bit as I added the additional coats.  The formula is on the sheer side and needed three coats to cover the nail line.  It is still quite see through at the tips in direct light.

Queen is described as a vintage rose chrome polish.  This one is definitely more opaque than Dame and the brush strokes aren't as visible either so big points for that.  I also don't mind the colour of this one.  The formula is easy to work with and is opaque in two coats, which is what I used for my swatch.

The full six piece Vintage Collection is available now from Picture Polish.

piCture pOlish Swatch Spam - Swatches & Review

Friday, 19 October 2018

At the start of this year, I set out some goals that I want to achieve this year.  One of those goals is swatch everything that I have purchased this year (and to swatch everything I purchased last year - which I have done woohoo!).  So far I am tracking along pretty well and am keeping up with all my purchases.  That brings us to today's post.  Today I have some random polishes that I have picked up this year from piCture pOlish and one polish that I wore ages ago and never got around to posting so thought I would share it now.

Aurora is a multichrome that shifts from turquoise green to purple to pink.  This polish was originally released back in 2014 (or something like that).  I have worn it quite a few times and I love it!  It's so beautifully and shifty!  My pictures (that I can't remember when I took) don't really do this polish justice.  I definitely want to wear it again.  My swatch shows two coats over black.

Blossom is described as a soft pink to lilac nail polish with holographic  flakes and pink glass flecks.  This polish is made in collaboration with Paulina's Passion.  This polish is gorgeous!  My pictures don't do it justice at all.  The formula is a little on the sheer side but that is to be expected for such a light colour.  For my swatch I used three coats.

Cactus is described as a khaki green polish with a jelly consistency and holographic flakes.  This polish was made in collaboration with @de_briz.  Now I am not one for green polishes but every time I saw swatches of this polish I knew I just had to have it.   My pictures really don't do this polish justice.  It really needs sunshine so you can see the holo.  It really is so pretty.  The formula is good and it's easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Orchid is a bright pink/purple jelly with scattered holo.  This polish was made in collaboration with Solo Nails.  Fun story, when I was looking at shades of purples for my collaboration shade I actually originally wanted this type of colour (or something very similar) however I decided against it because I didn't want my shade to be too similar to this one.  Anyway, I love this one!  The colour is gorgeous and it does look slightly different depending on your lighting.  The formula is also good and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Wanderlust is a bright candy pink polish with holographic flakes and blue glass flecks.  This polish is made in collaboration with Nail Decor.  I love this polish!  It's stunning!  The formula is a little bit on the sheer side but it's easy to work with.  I used three coats for my swatch.

piCture pOlish really do have some fantastic polishes.  It's one of my polish drawers that I really need to play in some more (which I can say that about most of my polish collection really).  I hope you guys have enjoyed this random swatch spam.

piCture pOlish June 2018 Releases - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 15 August 2018

I am sure that you guys are aware but I have my very own collaboration shade with piCture pOlish!  It was released back in June along with five other shades.  Before seeing the other shades that were released along with mine I had decided that I wanted to buy them all.  As soon as I saw all of the shades together I just had to have them.  They all look so pretty together.  I have done nail art using all of the polishes together but I thought it would be nice to swatch them all and review them for you guys.  I apologize for the lack of sunshine pictures in this post but it's Melbourne and winter!  Sunshine is very hard to come by.

Destiny is an arctic blue with a jelly consistency that comprises of holographic flakes.  This polish is made in collaboration with Anna (Esteloskora Nail).  This one definitely has a lot of sparkle to it.  I think it is such a pretty colour and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Eternal is a tangerine orange with a jelly consistency that comprises of subtle holographic flakes.  This polish is made in collaboration with Debbie (@ladyandthe_stamp). This one surprised me.  I honestly thought it would look horrible on my skin tone, but it's not bad at all.  The formula is great and applied easily. My swatch shows two coats.

Fancy is a peony pink with a jelly consistency that comprises subtle holographic flakes plus golden sparks.  This polish is made in collaboration with Regina (@regina_arg).  This is quite a pretty pink and again the formula is really good.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Fresh is a lime green with a jelly consistency that comprises subtle holographic flakes.  This one certainly freaked my camera out.  I wouldn't say that this polish is a go to colour for me but it is pretty cool for something different.  It does apply unevenly, so I needed to use three coats for my swatch.

Princess is a soft pink with a jelly consistency that comprises subtle holographic flakes plus golden sparks. Super pretty colour. As expected, this one was a little on the sheer side and applied unevenly.  I used three coats for my swatch.

And last but certainly not least: my shade!
Royal is is a vibrant blue toned purple with scattered holographic.  Now in true purple style this one doesn't photograph 100% accurately (and it will also depend on your screen settings too) but it really is a gorgeous colour.  It's not too dark, not too light or not too bright so it suits everyone!  The formula is fantastic.  It applies evenly and is opaque in two coats.

I'm so happy that my collaboration shade got released along side each of these polishes.  Not only are they nice colours by themselves but they also work so well together.  My personal favourites are Royal (of course) and Princess.  I really am such a sucker for pink and purple polishes.

Which is your favourite polish from this release?  You don't have to say Royal.  I won't be offend I promise.

piCture pOlish Royal (My Collaboration Shade!!) - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 17 June 2018

This is by far the MOST EXCITING blog post for me to write and one that I have been dying to share with you since last year!  That's right, I have been keeping this secret since last year.  I can't even begin to tell you how hard it has been to not yell "I HAVE MY OWN PICTURE POLISH COLLABORATION SHADE!!!"  And now I can officially talk about it (and you can already get your hands on it because it is now available!!!).

Royal is a vibrant blue toned purple with scattered holographic.

Royal is inspired by my little princess, Olivia.  She is bright, she is fun and she loves to sparkle!  Just like this polish.  Fun fact: Olivia was the one the chose the crown at the top of the bottle.  She is very pleased to have "designed" the polish bottle and have her name on it.  The purple was my choice because it's my favourite colour.

So what do you think of my collaboration?  I hope you guys love it just as much as I do.  There are also five other shades being released alongside mine:

Picture Polish September Collaboration Shades - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 7 September 2017

One thing you should know about me, is I like to know stuff.  It doesn't need to be about anything in particular or of relevance to me really.  If you know something, I want to know too. Giving me part information is really just a big tease.  Why am I tell you this you may be wondering?  I was asked last week if I would be interested in swatching two top secret polishes from piCture pOlish.  Of course I happily said yes, but quietly it was killing me not knowing anything else about these polishes.  The polishes were sent, but sadly I missed my delivery driver on Friday as I was dropping off my daughter to school and couldn't pick up the polishes until Monday morning.  That's right, an extra two days of not knowing!!!  I ended up seeing that there are six new collaboration shades before heading to the post office - it was just a matter of time before I found out which pretties were waiting for me.  Fast forward to today and now I have my swatches and review to share with you!

Mythical is described as a purple jelly scatter holographic with shifting blue glass fleck and is made in collaboration with @roselynn787.  Honestly, pictures don't do this polish justice.  It's so stunning in person and the formula is great.  My swatch shows two coats.

Riviera is described as an azure blue jelly scatter holographic and is made in collaboration with Sakura.  I am a huge fan of this one.  I love how different in looks in different lighting.  The formula is great and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Of the six new collaboration shades these two would definitely be my pick so I am extremely happy and grateful to be sent these to swatch.  Both have great formulas and are both stunning colours.

All six collaboration shades are available from piCture pOlish.
