Nail Crazies Unite: Black & White Lace

Saturday, 19 May 2018

This week's Nail Crazies Unite theme seemed like a great one for me to jump in on.  I do love me a good black and white mani and I don't think I have ever done a black and white lace mani so thought why not?  I love simple manis like this.

For my base I used Color Club French Tips and stamped using Hit The Bottle's As Black As Night.  Stamping image is from It Girl IG306.

I'm not sure if I will be participating in this challenge for the next couple of months.  I'm just not feeling the themes.  Are you participating in this challenge?

Nail Crazies Unite: Neon Flowers

Friday, 20 April 2018

Nail Crazies Unite is one challenge that I kept up to date with once upon a time, but I now I kind of just dip in and out of it when the themes take my fancy.  This week's theme is neon flowers so naturally I had to join in for this week.

This mani is so much brighter in person, but it doesn't translate well in pictures.  For this mani I used Orly's Road Trippin (over white) and stamped using Ya Qin An stamping polish (it has no name or number on it that I can see).  Stamping image is from Lina Nail Art Supplies 4 Seasons - Spring 02 stamping plate.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone else's manis!

I can't find the inlinkz code for this week's theme but as soon as I find it I will add it in.

Nail Crazies Unite: Rainbow Watermarble

Friday, 9 March 2018

It has been a little while since I have done a mani for Nail Crazies Unite.  Why?  There has been a mix of reasons from having swatching commitments, life commitments and simply not liking the theme.  I'm not going to lie, I was very tempted to skip over today's Rainbow Watermarble theme.  I hate watermarbling with a passion.  I have seen countless tutorials, I have even seen a live demo from Cathy (More Nail Polish), been given cheat sheets and tips from watermarble pros and I just can't do it.  I also don't have the patience to keep trying (there are way too many fails for my liking) but it occurred to me - stamp the watermarble.  You would think by now that stamping watermarble would come to my mind immediately when I see the word "watermarble" but nope.

For this mani I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Presence for my base and stamped using Bundle Monster's Quasar, Teepee Tipping. E-tronica, Opus One, Astronomical and Monarch Dream.  Stamping image is from What's Up Nails B002.

I am so happy that I actually did this mani.  I love how it turned out.  I am excited to see the other manis.  I imagine there is going to be some amazing watermarbling (actual watermarble) happening this week.

Nail Crazies Unite: Winter Animals

Friday, 26 January 2018

One of the things that I dislike about doing nail art challenges is a lot of the time there is some form of season related mani which rarely lines up with the seasons in Australia.  It's currently Summer here so for me to think about a winter animal was kinda strange.  My original thought was to do penguin nails but I have done a few penguin nails over the years and wanted to do something a little different.  Today I have some polar bear nails to share with you.  These nails are inspired by a mani I saw by Lily Rose.

For my base I used Emily de Molly LE72.  My freehand was done using Powder Perfect's White Stamping Polish and Pretty Serious Cosmetics Absence.

I really like how these turned out.  My daughter said that they are the cutest polar bears ever.  Gotta love her!

Nail Crazies Unite: Gold Snowflakes

Saturday, 13 January 2018

Nail Crazies Unite is another challenge that I started last year, however had to take a break from in December.  But I am joining back in.  Today's theme is gold snowflakes.  I don't think I have ever done a mani with gold snowflakes.  Silver and white yes, I have even done black but never gold. I have quite a few snowflake images among my stamping plates - so deciding what to use could have been quite tricky.  Luckily for me I have the recently released 4 Seasons - Winter 02 stamping plate from Lina Nail Art Supplies which has plenty of snowflake images to choose from.

For my base I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Absence and stamped using Hit The Bottles Calypso Gold.  As mentioned, stamping image is from Lina Nail Art Supplies 4 Seasons - Winter 02.

To continue with the matte theme I seem to have this week.  Matte top coat is from piCture pOlish.  These didn't turn as matte as I would have liked but I still like the overall look.

Here is a look at the remaining themes for Nail Crazies Unite for this year:

Nail Crazies Unite: Disney/Pixar Inspired

Friday, 1 December 2017

Happy first of December everyone!  This is definitely going to be one fast paced but super fun month - well it is going to be for me anyway.  This month is also going to bring about a lot of nail art so hopefully that will be fun for you guys to see.  Today is a new theme for the Nail Crazies Unite Challenge.  The theme is Disney/Pixar Inspired.  How can one turn down doing Disney/Pixar nails?  There is soooooo many options of Disney/Pixar characters to do - Princesses, Monsters Inc, Inside Out, Doc McStuffins, Toy Story.....seriously the list just goes on and on.  I personally couldn't go past Minnie Mouse - not the new Minnie who wears pink but the classic red Minnie.

Polishes used are China Glaze Flame-boyant, Pretty Serious Cosmetics Absence and Presence.  I want to say that the bow is either from Born Pretty Story or Simply Spoiled Beauty.  It's been in my collection for too many years for me to remember exactly where it came from.

I am so excited to see everyone else's mani.  I believe that this week's theme is going to produce some really cute manis.  Who is your favourite Disney or Pixar character?

Nail Crazies Unite: Stamping With A Flakie Base

Saturday, 18 November 2017

I have been making a huge mess in my polish area and it has been driving me nuts.  There are a couple of reasons why my area has been a mess - 1) I have been swatching like a mad woman lately and haven't really stopped to put the polishes and plates away and 2) my polish drawers were long overdue to be sorted so I could fit the new things in.  Well, I finally got around to putting everything away and reorganizing the drawers.  Yay!  You may be wondering why I am sharing this random information with you.  Whilst I was re-arranging I stumbled across the gorgeous Emily de Molly Insipid and I just knew that I had to wear it again.  Luckily today's Nail Crazies Unite theme is stamping with a flakie base.

For my base I sponged on Emily de Molly's Insipid and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.  Image is from Uberchic 21-01.

I love flakie polishes.  I am definitely looking forward to seeing all the pretty flakie manis this week.

Nail Crazies Unite: Neutral Colours

Friday, 3 November 2017

Nail Crazies Unite is back again!  I have only seen the themes for the remainder of this year (I should double check if this has been updated in the facebook group of not) but the themes looked like fun so I thought I would join in again.  Are you joining in with this challenge?  Anyway, today's theme is neutral colours.

For my base I used Emily de Molly Satin Slippers, Colour Alike B An Ice Coffee and stamped using Pueen 33.

I really love how this mani turned out.  It's even prettier in person....well at least I think so.

Nail Crazies Unite Round Up

Saturday, 21 October 2017

There is something so satisfying about doing these round up posts.  I think it's the sense of accomplishment and seeing all the manis together.  Particularly challenges like this one where they run over such a long period of time, it's nice to go back and see them all together.  Anyway, I was actually a late starter to this challenge (and from memory I may have skipped one or two of the themes due to swatching commitments) but here is all of the manis that I did actually complete.

Blue and white
Red and black
Rainbow
Sweets
Hippy/Boho
Pastel Floral
Watercolor
Delicate Print
Music
Fruits
Neon
Ocean Life
Beach
Nautical
Sunflowers
Stripes

Chevrons

Sugar Skulls

Vampy Matte
I completely forgot about some of these manis.  I guess that is what happens when you do so many manis over time....or maybe I just have a terrible memory.  Anyway, I definitely didn't complete this full challenge but I did have some fun doing the manis I did.

Nail Crazies Unite: Vampy Matte

Friday, 20 October 2017

Today I have the last mani for the Nail Crazies Unite Challenge.  As far as I am aware, this challenge is going to be getting new prompts and will commence again in November.  I am not 100% sure at this stage if I will be doing this challenge again or not.  If it sticks to the fortnightly prompts and is on the opposite weeks to the 26 Great Nail Art Challenge then I will most likely continue.  Anyway, that is a job for Future Tracy to work out.

The final mani for Nail Crazies Unite is Vampy Matte.  Last week I was searching through old manis that I have done when I stumbled (well kind of stumbled - I was searching through vampy manis I did from another challenge) when I saw a matte lace mani that I did.  I thought I would re do it but with different polishes and stamping image.  For my base I used China Glaze Seduce Me and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.  Stamping image is from Pueen 27 and the matte top coat is from piCture pOlish.

I'll be back tomorrow with a round up of all the manis I have done for this challenge if you are interested in seeing them all.

Are you going to be joining in the next round of this challenge?

Nail Crazies Unite: Sugar Skulls

Friday, 6 October 2017

I feel like all of the nail art challenges I have been doing have ended, except for Nail Crazies Unite.  There is still one more theme (after today's) and then this challenge will finish up too.  I may have to find some new nail art challenges.  Let me know if you know of any that you think I could join.

Today's theme is Sugar Skulls.  I have never done a Sugar Skulls mani before but I remembered that I have Uberchic's Sugar Skulls 01 Stamping Plate so I grabbed that out.  Now you would think that after a month of nail art I would be able to do something magical.  Sadly, no.  This mani is quite a fail if you ask me.  Polishes used are Color Club Friend Zone, Don't Toy With Me, Play Date, No Curfew and Playing The Field.

I'll have to step up my game with the last mani for Nail Crazies Unite.

Nail Crazies Unite: Chevrons

Friday, 22 September 2017

I am very glad that I have a blog planner and that I plan in advance.  Why?  Because I seriously would have forgotten about today's Nail Crazies Unite mani...well and everything else.  September is really proving to be a very busy month.  The theme for today is Chevron.  I'm not sure if whoever made this challenge meant zig zags or chevrons because I know a few years back there was some confusion about what "chevrons" were.  It will be interesting to see how everyone interrupts this theme.

For my base I used Emily de Molly Bring The Light (which FYI I am loving!  This baby is so holo that you don't even need lights to see the rainbow - I will have swatches and a review of this polish but not until October).  I then stamped using Powder Perfect Black Stamping Polish and Dance Legend Violet Stamping Polish.  Stamping image is from Lina Nail Art Supplies Feeling Shapely 01.  I wish that I could get a sunshine pic of this mani.  Sadly the sun had gone by the time I finished this mani.

Wow!  There are only two more themes to go and then this challenge is complete too.

31DC2017: Metallic Nails & Nail Crazies Unite: Stripes

Friday, 8 September 2017

I'm back with a double nail challenge post.  I like when you are doing multiple challenges and two prompts can work for one mani.  Saves time and in my case means I only have one blog post to write for today!  Woohoo!  Today's theme for 31DC2017 is metallic nail and the theme for Nail Crazies Unite is stripes, naturally that means metallic stripes!

For my gradient I used Essie No Place Like Chrome, Good As Gold and Penny Talk.  Stamping polish is Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish and stamping image is from Uberchic 20-02.

There is only two more themes left for the first section on this challenge.  I am excited that I am nearly a third of the way through, but then I get a nice quick reminder that this first third of this challenge is "easy".  I also seem to struggle with the inspired by themes.  Eek.

Nail Crazies Unite: Sunflowers

Friday, 25 August 2017

How is it already Friday today?  I think I have been so focused on getting my daughter organized for her book week parade this morning (she is Rapunzel in case you were wondering) that I completely forgot that I haven't actually written this post.  Luckily for me, I already have the mani. Today's theme for Nail Crazies Unite is Sunflowers.

For my base I used OPI Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.  Stamping image is from Uberchic Beauty 1-02.  It's been forever since I have played with these older Uberchic plates.  Such great images!

Who is looking forward to the end of this challenge?  There really isn't many more themes to go.
