Emily de Molly Rewind Collections - Swatches & Review

 PRESS SAMPLE

Happy July everyone!  What a busy and exciting month this is going to be.  Not only is it my birthday month, my daughter is starting at her new gymnastics club (which is going to be a huge change for both her and me) and Emily de Molly have a LOT of new things coming!  This month Hayley is participating for the first time ever in Indies Down Under (which is a duo - so two new polishes!  These will be available on the 9th July).  We also have another month of the Polish Pick Up (this month is a rewind month so there are two polishes making a comeback.  We also have not one but two Rewind Collections as well.  That's a whole lot of polishes!  I have the first collection to share with you today.  These colours were voted on by the facebook and I'll add the link to my original blog post of the Ultra Holo Collection that is being released.  Wow that's a whole lot of information in one go.  Let's take a look at these pretties shall we?

Animated Hearts is a clear base with silver holographic and orange to green shifting iridescent glitters with a subtle blue shimmer.  There is no distinguishable difference between the original version and the new one except perhaps a thicker formula.  My swatches are the ones that I originally did back in 2017.  I loved the polish back then and I still love it now!  I believe I even mentioned this polish around Valentines Day again this year.  It's just a polish that is unforgettable.  My swatch shows three coats.  You can find what I original wrote about this polish here.

Major Themes 2.0 is an orange base with gold foil type shimmer.  The shimmer used in this one is a slightly larger particle size which gives it a slightly brighter more reflective finish.  I love the finish of this one but it's just not really my type of colour.  Let's just say that I like this colour but I don't love it.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used three coats for my swatch but you can stop at two coats.

Opposite Order 2.0 is a brown base with turquoise blue to purple foil shifting shimmer.  The shimmer in this one is a slightly larger particle size which gives it a slightly brighter more reflective finish.  Loved the original polish and love this one too.  It's gorgeous and so shifty.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used three coats for my swatch but you can stop at two coats.

Pale Horse 2.0 is a pinky purple/gold/green shifting multichrome with silver holographic microglitters.  This one also has a slight magnetic effect but the effect is very subtle (I also didn't realise this until writing this post so I don't have any swatches of the magnetic effect - sorry).  The multichrome pigment used is a tiny bit darker than the original and leans a little more purple than pink.  Definitely in love with this one.  The colour is gorgeous and the shift is amazing.  For my swatch I used three coats but again you can stop at two coats.

Riot Of Shadows is a dusty teal green base with a fine particle copper/gold/green aurora shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters.  There is no distinguishable difference between the two so I have included my original swatches of this polish.  Still love this polish!  My swatch shows three coats but you can stop at two.  You can find my original post for this polish here.

Save Your Boredom is a pale purple base with pink/gold/green/blue shifting aurora shimmer.  There is no distinguishable difference between the two so again I have used my original swatches.  You can find the original post for this shade here.  My swatch shows three coats.

The Glaring is a dark blue jelly base with a subtle green overlay and silver holographic glitters.  There is no distinguishable difference between the two.  The formula is a little different as Hayley uses a different base for glitters now.  All that said this does have a great formula.  It's easy to work with and it is a great colour.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Turbulence 2.0 is a dark jelly base with assorted glitters in blue, pink, gold and silver.  Unfortunately several of the glitters from the original version were no longer available but Hayley replaced them with glitters that are very similar.  All the main elements are the same.  The colourants have changed over the years so the base colour is very slightly different too and the formula is also different as a different base for glitters is used.  I love this one!  The colour, the glitters....it's just as stunning on the nails as it is in the bottle.  For my swatch I used three coats.

Water Balance 2.0 is an aqua blue base with strong gold foil type shimmer.  The shimmer used in this one is a larger particle size which gives a brighter more reflective finish.  The shimmer also leans more gold rather than the gold/green of the original.  Obsessed with this one.  Perfect for mermaid nails. This one is definitely better in person than what my pictures show.  My camera didn't want to cooperate.  The formula is great and easy to use.  For my swatch I used three coats but you can stop at two coats.

That brings us to the end of collection one of the Rewind shades.  I can totally understand why the Facebook group voted for these shades to come back.  They are all amazing.  I was also happily surprised to see that the Ultra Holos are also making a comeback.  I believe there is no differences so you can check out my swatches and review here for these shades.

Both Rewind Collections will be available on Saturday 3rd July at 10am AEST from Emily de Molly's Australian site and from Friday 2nd July at 8pm EDT on the international site.
