China Glaze The Grinch Collection - Swatches & Review

Hello weekend!  I don't know about you guys but I am happy that the weekend is here.  That being said the weekends seem to be popping up really quickly at the moment.  I guess that is just what happens this time of year.  Soon it will be school holidays and then Christmas!  Speaking of Christmas.  Today I have the new Holiday Collection from China Glaze - The Grinch Collection to share with you.

Deliciously Wicked is a blue pearl base with silver holographic glitter.  I am on the fence with this one.  When I first put it on I really didn't like it but then over time it grew on me.  I think it's the pearl blue base that throws me off.  It is very sparkly polish which I like especially for the festive season ahead.  The formula is on the sheer side and this polish is an absolute pain to remove.  It's definitely one of the most difficult glitter polishes I have removed in some time.  My swatch shows three coats.

Grinchworthy is a green shimmer.  This polish is soooo sparkly.  I only swatched this at night so I can only imagine how sparkly it will be in the sunlight.  Anyway, I am not much of a green fan but I quite like this one!  The formula is good and appeals evenly.  You can stop at two coats, however it seemed to be a little see through at the tips for me so I used three coats for my swatch.

Ho! Ho! No is a red base with golden glitter throughout.  When I think Christmas polishes my thoughts always go straight to red and gold polishes.  The formula of this one is great.  It's easy to use and is opaque in two coats.

Lukewarm Wishes is described as a white blue shimmer.  As you can imagine this polish is quite sheer.  I don't think I could ever get it opaque enough for my liking (I imagine you will still see a visible nail line at three coats).  As a topper though, I love this polish!  I think it would look so pretty of different colours.  I am definitely looking forward to playing around with it some more.  For my swatch I used one coat over black.

Merry Whatever is a champagne gold glitter.  This one is quite sheer.  I would definitely use it over a base colour next time.  The formula is easy to use but I did find it is slow drying.  I used three coats for my swatch, however it still has a slight visible nail line.

Resting Grinch Face is described as a multi green and red glitter.  To me it looks like it's blue, green and gold (and maybe a little bit of silver - or maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me).  Whatever the colour mix is I really like this glitter.  I assumed that this polish was going to be very base heavy so I used it over a black base.  I was very pleasant surprised at the glitter pay off.  This polish could probably be opaque in three coats.  I used one coat for my swatch.

Who Wonder is described as a hot pink shimmer.  Naturally I love this polish.  The colour is gorgeous and the formula is great.  I used two coats for my swatch but I kinda question if I should have done a third coat.

You're A Mean One is described as a purple shimmer.  Love this polish too.  It's perfect for the cooler weather (which we aren't having at the moment).  The formula is fantastic and is opaque in two coats.

Overall, I am a big fan of this collection.  I think there is such a good mix of colours and finishes.  I also love that the polishes don't necessarily scream Christmas which means they can be worn all year round.  My personal picks from this collection are Who Wonder, You're A Mean One, Lukewarm Wishes and Resting Grinch Face.

    1. By white I assume you are referring to Lukewarm Wishes. If that's the case I did one coat over black.
