31DC2018 Polka Dots and Digit-al Dozen Does First Blog Posts

Polka dot manis are always so fun and cute to wear.  I have definitely done quite a few different dotticures over the years, but this was the first one I ever did.  I actually still remember the day that  I did this original mani.  I had just received my dotting tools (which are the exact same ones I use to this very day) and I wanted to try them out.  I thought it would be fun to do an accent nail (I had recently discovered the world of accent nails) so that's what I did.  I actually posted three versions of this mani on Instagram because I thought it looked cute to have the dots only on the accent nail, and then on the two middle nails....and of course there was the final mani.

For this mani I used OPI Ogre The Top Blue and Emily de Molly Bright Retreat (this polish is part of Emily de Molly's September releases.  I will have my swatch and review post of these later today).  Sadly, I smudged the dots when I added my top coat.

This mani was originally posted on Instagram on 7th April 2013.

Don't forget to check out the other Digit-al Dozen girls manis.

And of course the other 31DC2018 manis.

  1. Now that is cute! I love that the dots are different sized and the pattern it makes is really pretty. Again with the blue that I am really loving. It suddenly feels like I need to use a lot more blue. I love it.

    1. Thank you. I wouldn't normally have done two blue manis in a row but that's just how it worked out with the Digit-al Dozen manis. When I did the original manis it was Autism Awareness Month so it was all about the blue manis. Tomorrow's mani is a blue free zone lol

  2. Wow, your nails were already so neat in 2013! It took me a while to get the hang of that..

    1. Why thank you. If you scroll back through IG you will find that not all of my manis are as neat as this one. I was also painting my nails (but not doing nail art) for a couple of years prior.

    1. Thank you! You should pull the dotting tools out! I really should use mine more often too. They always make for some really cute manis <3
