31DC2018 Inspired By A Colour & Uberchic Dual Ended Puff & Stamper Review

Today is officially the last day of the school term which means school holidays!  I'm excited for the school holidays but also a little nervous about how I am going to get through the rest of this challenge.  But I am determined to get through it.  Anyway, not only is today that last day of school but today also marks the first day of the final section of the 31DC2018 challenge!  Woohoo!  This part of the challenge is definitely the hardest for me, but they don't call it a challenge for nothing do they?  Today's theme is Inspired By A Colour which I am also combining with a review of Uberchic's new Dual Ended Puff & Stamper.

Over the years for the 'inspired by a colour' theme I believe I usually grab pinks or purples.  Today I thought I would mix it up and use some oranges/corals.  For my base I used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Thistle Do Nicely and Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants and the Uberchic Dual Ended Puff & Stamper.  Stamping image is from Uberchic Got Chevron 02.

Now let's take a closer look at the Dual Ended Puff And Stamper.  This is exactly what it says it is.  On one end you have a sponge and the other end has a stamper.  It also comes in a sturdy case to help keep it clean and dust free.

For the mani above I used both sides of this tool to get it a real good test.  One thing that I noticed (and to be honest don't really like) is how small each of the ends are of this tool.  I have been told that the sponge end can be used for things like a gradient, however I am not sure how well this would work.  The sponge doesn't cover much surface area.  I found doing my design that I needed to more the sponge around a lot to get the colour all over then nail, which then in turn blended the colours together more.  It's kinda hard to tell with my picture because I used neons which of course my camera washed out.  On the plus side, the sponge doesn't have bits come off it like a make up sponge does so it gives it a smoother finish.  The sponge can be cleaned using 100% acetone.

The stamper is definitely only designed to be used with single images and not full sized designs.  As you know, individual images aren't really my thing so that kinda makes it a little tricker for me.  I also found that positioning the image was a little challenging (as you can see on my ring nail).  This could be because I am use to using a transparent stamper.

I think that covers everything about the Dual Ended Puff & Stamper.  I don't think that it's a bad tool, it does work well.  I just don't think this is necessarily the right tool for me.

The Dual Ended Puff & Stamper is available now from Uberchic Beauty.

Like always, be sure to check out the other manis from the 31DC2018.  While I haven't had the chance to comment on everyone's blog posts I definitely have been looking.
