OPI Lisbon Collection - Swatches & Review

One of the down falls to not living the US is that you see all of new collections being rolled out and you need to wait for them to hit Australia (or whatever country you are in).  Luckily for me the wait for the new OPI Spring 2018 Collection wasn't long at all.  The Lisbon Collection captures the light, bright, energetic yet charming feeling of Lisbon through it's vivid colours and softer hues.

A Red-vival City is described as a red creme.  Now if you are new to my blog (welcome!) you may not know that I am not a red fan.  I don't mind sparkly reds but red cremes just aren't for me.  There is nothing wrong with this polish, the formula is great and easy to use, it's just not for me.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Closer Than You Might Belem is a coastal sea green creme.  This colour is more my style.  I think it is such a pretty colour and the formula is great.  It applies really evenly so you could easily get away with one coat if you were in a pinch.  My swatch shows two coats.

Lisbon Wants Moor OPI is described as a delicate pink.  I LOVE this one.  It's so fresh looking.  I was actually sad when it came time to take this one off.  I'll definitely be reaching for this polish a lot.  The formula is fantastic and is opaque in two coats.

Made It To The Seventh Hill! is described as a soft golden rose.  This one looks better in the bottle than it does on the nails unfortunately.  I am not a fan of how streaky it is or how visible the brush strokes are.  It also bubbled on me, which I am not sure if it is because of the polish or if it is because of the hot weather that we are currently having.  For my swatch I used three coats.

No Turning Back From Pink Street is described as a magenta creme.  Oh pink!  How I love my pinks.  As soon as I applied the first coat I was head over heels.  Gorgeous colour with a great formula, what's not to love?  I used two coats for my swatch.

Now Museum, Now You Don't is described as a metallic red.  Again, I am not really a red fan, but this one I can get on board with.  I'm not sure why but there is just something about it.  The formula is also easy to use.  This one did bubble a little bit but I am going to blame the warm temperatures on that one.  My swatch shows two coats.

Sun, Sea And Sand In My Pants is described as a sunshiny yellow.  I really like the look of this one in the bottle but I am not really a fan of it on my nails...well not as a full mani.  I think it's a great yellow for nail art though.  It does apply unevenly, so I needed three coats to even it out.

Suzi Chases Portu-geese is described as a white creme.  Now this one to me looks like it has a very slight pink undertone to it so it's not a stark white.  I think it's quite a pretty colour and very fresh looking.  I think this one would be amazing on short nails in particular.  The formula is easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Tagus Is That Selfie! is described as a bright pink creme.  Another pink that I am a fan of.  It's quite pretty and the formula is easy to use.  It does apply unevenly on the first coat, but evens out on the second.

Tile Art To Warm Your Heart is described as a mosaic blue.  I'm really loving blue nails at the moment and this is one blue that I definitely love.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

We Seafood And Eat It is described as a lobster creme.  For a reddish colour, I like this one.  The formula is easy to use and applies evenly, however I did find it a little on the sheer-ish side.  It looks as though you could see a slight visible nail line after two coats.  I used three coats for my swatch.

You've Got Nata On Me is describes as a peach.  I am really on the fence about this one.  There is something about it I think I like but something about it that I don't.  I think maybe it leans a bit more of the mature side of polishes (if you know what I mean).  This one does apply unevenly on the first coat but does even out on the second coat.

Overall, I quite like this collection.  I think there is a pretty good mix of colours, and definitely something for everyone.  There are a couple of polishes that are quite similar looking (especially in the bottles) that seemed odd to be in the same collection.  I also think it was missing a purple - I love my purple polishes!  My personal favourites from this collection are Lisbon Wants Moor OPI, No Turning Back From Pink Street and Tile Art To Warm Your Heart.  Why are your favourites from this collection?

The Lisbon Collection is available now from David Jones, Myer and selected salons nationally.
