What's Up Nails Mixed Stamping Plates - Swatches & Review

What's Up Nails is a brand that I am sure you have seen (and most likely even purchased things from before) all over social media.  They sell a variety of nail products from vinyls, stamping plates, decals, those multichrome powders....really the list just goes on.  I have purchased quite a few of their nail vinyls in the past and have posted some manis to Instagram.  Today, I am not talking about vinyls, I am going to talk about three of What's Up Nails newest stamping plates.  If you know me then you know that I am always on the hunt for some new stamping plates so I was definitely excited to play with these plates.

A010 Henna Enhancement
I am a big fan of these buffet style plates and this one is no exception.  I love that variety of the images and the details!  Check out those details!  There really are so many different looks you can get from this plate.

I had a really hard time trying to decide where to actually start with this plate (it's one of the downsides with these buffer styles - they can be quite overwhelming) so I figure I'll start on the left side of the plate.  For my base I did a gradient using China Glaze Grass Is Lime Greener, Too Yacht To Handle and That's Shore Bright.  I stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

These images scream black and white to me.  I think as a full mani it would look amazing but I wanted a little colour and a little bit of bling so when for a black and white accent nail.  I used Emily de Molly's Eye's Only and Animated Heart, China Glaze Blanc Out and Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

B002 Watermarble To Perfection
One of the things that I would love to be able to do is watermarble.  It's always such a frustrating experience for me and no matter how hard I try it's 99% a fail.  Best (and really only) option for me is to stamp water marble images.  There are some traditional water marble images and some really cool ones.

I was really drawn to the image in the right hand corner at the bottom of this plate.  I have no clue why but I am so happy I used it.  I wore this as a full mani for a couple of days because I didn't want to take it off.  This mani looked awesome in person!  Polishes used are Color Club Prim Rose, China Glaze Blanc Out, Pretty Serious Cosmetics and Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

Now this next image was giving me some oil spill vibes so I thought a multichrome base was the way to go.  I just so happen to have some new multichromes that I have been dying to play with from Emily de Molly so really this mani was an easy choice for me.  Polishes used are Emily de Molly Shallow Depths and Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

B009 Lost In Aztec
I'm not sure if I have ever really mentioned this on my blog or not but I love tribal/aztec manis.  There is something that is just so cool about them.  I have tried quite a few times to freehand them however I'm not get at freehand.  Luckily for me there are plates like this one!  I did find that the images are a little wide for my nails so I do lose a little bit of the details.

I think Aztec images always call for some neon so that is exactly what I did.  I actually did this for a challenge mani which was for a pastel to bold gradient.  For my gradient I used Grace-full Nail Polish Brooke and Orly Glowstick, and then stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

I knew I just had to do a radial gradient under this image, it was just a question of what colours to use.  When I thought about the manis that I had already done for this post I thought that I had quite a lot of bright and colourful manis so thought I would go for something different - nudes!  For my base I used China Glaze Pixilated and Bare Attack and stamped using Powder Perfect's Black Stamping Polish.

I am so impressed with these plates.  The quality is fantastic, the images are fantastic and they all pick up and transfer beautifully.  I will definitely be adding some more What's Up Nails stamping plates to my collection!

All three of these plates are available now from What's Up Nails.

    1. Thanks Christy. I was the same. Taking the leap can sometimes be the hardest part. The quality of these are really good. I haven't had any issues with them and I tried multiple stampers as well :)
