Color Club Frostbite Collection - Swatches & Review

Today I have another new collection to share with you.  This time I have Color Club's Frostbite Collection.  The one thing I find with Color Club is that there is a serious lack of their presence online.  Am I the only one that finds this?  A new collection pops up and then you jump on google looking for swatches and then there is nothing to be found?  There is the odd exceptions to this (eg the Halo Hues collections) but for the most part, there is nothing.  So buying these collections are a real gamble.  Let's just jump into the swatches and my review of the Frostbite Collection and I'll give you my overall opinion at the end.

I'm Gonna Luge It is a metallic blue toned grey.  This is my favorite of this collection.  Formula wise is it easy to use and you could nearly get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Polar Vortex is a dark metallic silver.  This is another one that you could get away with one coat.  I used two for my swatch.

Snowed In is a metallic grey.  Again, this is the same as above.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Triple Lutz is a pink metallic.  This one has very visible brush strokes.  I used one coat for my swatch.

What A Flake is a black, white and silver glitter topper.  I really don't like this polish at all.  It's base heavy and the glitters clump together.  It's just hard to work with and doesn't look good in my opinion.  I used one coat over Triple Lutz.

Winter White is a metallic/pearly white.  This one has very visible brush strokes, is slow drying and requires three coats to be fully opaque.  You can still see a visible nail line after two coats.

24 Below is a gold metallic.  This polish is a one coater if you do a careful application.  I used one coat for my swatch.

Overall, this collection doesn't excitement at all.  If I had seen swatches of this collection I would have passed on it.  Formula wise they are easy to work with (with the exception of What A Flake) but they do have visible brush strokes, which is common with a lot of metallics.  My pick from this collection is I'm Gonna Luge It.

    1. Do you like it Ananka? I'm not sure I am such a huge fan of these but I am thinking that maybe a lot of them will stamp which would be great if they do. You can never have too many stamping polishes :)

  2. I agree about online presence also. Also if companies on IG reposted some of the regular people who use their polish more people would buy. Interact with the community more I bet sales would increase. In Color Club's case, I really liked their Cabin Fever collection but hardly anyone used it or did swatches so I passed.

    1. I'm glad it's not just me that feels that way Christy. I agree 100% about the interactions with the community too. Even if it's not a repost. I do appreciate when brands give a simple like or even comment on a mani. It definitely makes me want to reach for and use their polishes more. I don't think I have seen any swatches or anything from the Cabin Fever collection. I think I saw bottle shots (which were computer pics not actual pictures of the bottles) and I was interested but I never took the plunge and go any because I couldn't find anything on them. It's such a shame really. Color Club so make some great polishes.

  3. These are all supposed to be frosts. That's why it's called the Frostbite Collection. I don't have the guts to buy polishes without seeing a swatch so thank god for brave people like you or no one would know what they look like! One thing you can do to help a little is go onto Color Clubs website and they usually have descriptions when you click on a polish. It will at least give you a clue about what they are so if you hate frosts or whatever you'll know not to get this one. They look like they might be good stamping polishes at least! :)

    1. At the time of purchasing there was literally no information about them online (including Color Club's website). I looked everywhere and even asked around polish groups. Everyone was clueless, so I took the gamble. I'm not sure that a polish collections name necessarily represents what the polishes are going to be like. Frostbite could have been purely because it is a Winter Collection. But in this case, yes there were all frosts. I'm not sure if these polishes stamp or not. I don't have them anymore to even test out lol.

    2. Oh I totally understand. It's so stupid that they don't just put it out there when they release crap. Thank god for swatchers like you or no one would ever know what they look like.

    3. I'm really not sure why Color Club don't promote their collections more online. It's not a brand that you can find here in Australia so we really have to gamble with what's online. If I had endless money I would happily buy all of the Color Clubs (and any other polish) to swatch but sadly that isn't the case. There is a new collection that I have my eyes on so hopefully I can get that soon :)
