Femme Fatale Cosmetics Mad Tea-Party Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday, 23 August 2015

Happy weekend everyone.  I hope you are all having a good weekend so far.  Today I have Femme Fatale's Mad Tea-Party Collection share with you.  This collection consists of eight glittery polishes in various shades.  Unfortunately when I swatched these Brisbane decided to turn on some traditional winter weather so I don't have any sunshine pictures to share this time.

Always Tea Time is described as a chocolate milk crelly base with yellow tones, and a scattering of pink shimmer and fuchsia microglitter.  I quite like this one.  It's not my usual go to type of colour but I do really like it.  The formula is easy to work with and only required two coats to be opaque.

Infamous Riddle is described as a khaki-olive green with rich red overlay.  Because of my light restrictions I wasn't fully able to capture the colours fully in my picture.  This polish is definitely prettier in person than in pictures.  The formula is great and only requires two coats to be opaque.

Mad As A Hatter is described as a vibrant forest green jelly filled with red microglitters, sparkles and colour-shifting opalescent flakes.  Another pretty flakie polish from Femme Fatale.  The formula is slightly tricky to work with.  You need to use a bit of a dabbing technique as the flakies tend to pull off the base colour if brushed on.  I used three coats for my swatch but you can get away with two coats if you don't mind a visible nail line.

March Hare is described as a golden brown based with strong green shimmer and golden holo microglitter.  I am not a fan of this one at all.  I don't like the colour or the big glitter chunks.  The formula as easy to work with though.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Twinkle, Twinkle is described as a soft teal crelly base filled with vibrant purple and blue microglitters, violet shimmer and violet holo accents.  This is definitely one of my favorites from this collection.  It's really pretty and sparkly and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Two Days Wrong is a thermal polish which changes from a clear/soft pink (when warm) to a rich magenta-purple (when cold).  Within this polish is pink shimmer and red fire opalescent flakes.  I really like the colours of this polish.  The colour does change well, however it is quite sheer in it's warm state.  I used three coats for my swatch.

Up Above The World You Fly is described as a dusty mauve-purple base with blue shine and teal reflecks.  Super pretty and easy to use.  This polish is definitely much prettier in person than it is in pictures.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Wonderland is described as a vibrant sky blue crelly filled with pink shimmer and chameleon flakes which shift from pink/copper/gold/green.  This is another really pretty polish that is easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Overall I like this collection.  There is only the one polish that I really didn't like.  My favorites from the collection are Twinkle, Twinkle, Two Days Wrong and Up Above The World You Fly.  Did you pick up any of these polishes when they were available?

Femme Fatale Cosmetics August 2015 COTM Cydonia Glimmer

Friday, 21 August 2015

Today I have the Femme Fatale Colour Of The Month polish for this month.  I ordered this on the first of the month (along with the Mad Tea-Party Collection which I will be sharing with you over the weekend) and was extremely surprised when it arrived at my doorstep days later.  I honestly wasn't expecting it for weeks.  Anyway, I thought I would share this polish in a separate post as there is quite a few polishes in the Mad Tea-Party Collection.

Cydonia Glimmer is a raspberry pink jelly with a violet-blue shimmer, fire opal flakies, metallic magenta flakes and a hint of holo.  I think this is a gorgeous polish.  It is easy to use which is great but it is on the sheer side.  I used three coats for my swatch but probably could have done with a forth as you can still see a visible nail line.  Personally I am not a fan of nail lines at all.  Next time I wear this I will be trying it over a base colour of some kind.

Unfortunately when I wore this there was no sun so I was unable to really capture the beauty of this baby.  It is really pretty and would recommend it if you can get your hands on it.

Uberchic Beauty Collection Three Stamping Plates - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 19 August 2015

Today I have the last collection I own from Uberchic Beauty - Collection Three.  I have previously shared my thoughts on the other two collections I own as well as the Geek Love 01 and Hipster 01 plates (there are links for each of these posts at the bottom of this post).  Really my thoughts are the same for collection three.  All of the images stamp really well and there are some fantastic designs as well.  If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I have used these plates for quite a few different manis.

For my swatches I have used Konad Black and my rectangle squishy stamper from Messy Mansion.

Plate 3-01

Plate 3-02

Plate 3-03

I absolutely love all of the plates I currently own from Uberchic and can't wait to get my hands on the latest additions to their store.  And the Uber Mat.  That looks awesome too.  I just need the money fairy to come and pay me a visit....or ten.  Haha.

If you are interested in seeing my other swatches and review of the plates I own you can see them here:
Collection Three stamping plates along with all the other collections are available from Uberchic Beauty.

Do you own any Uberchic plates?  Let me know which is your favorite.

Hit The Bottle Stamping Polish Collection - Swatches & Review

Monday, 17 August 2015

I have been looking at increasing my stamping polish collection (because you can never really have too many can you?).  I saw that Hit The Bottle offered a mini set of her entire collection, so I grabbed them.  At the time, there was thirty one polishes in total (so brace yourself, there is a lot of pics in this post) but I have noticed that there are a couple of new polishes added to the line and a couple that are "coming soon".  I will be adding these to my collection at some point in the future, along with any other polishes that Hit The Bottle releases.

I am really impressed with the Hit The Bottle stamping polishes.  They all pick up and stamp beautifully.  I had no troubles what so ever with the ones I have and would recommend them to anyone looking for some metallic stamping polishes.  There is also a great range of colours so there is definitely something for everyone.  Michelle has mentioned to me in the past that she was working on some creme polishes that stamp so I am super excited for those.  For my swatches,  I swatched each polish over white and black (with the exception of a couple but I will mention those in my swatches) so you can see the changes that each polish makes over a light and dark polish.  Now onto the swatches....

Like I mentioned before, I really like these polishes and will definitely buy more in the future.  They all stamp well and the colours are so pretty.  I love that there are a few of these that look completely different over different base colours.

You can grab these stamping polishes from Hit The Bottle.  There is also a list of international stockists on the site as well.

Have you tried Hit The Bottle Polishes?  What is your favorite brand of stamping polishes?

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Daphne's Party Polishes - Swatch & Review

Friday, 14 August 2015

Recently I picked the latest additions to Pretty Serious' Daphne's Party Polishes and I thought it was time to introduce Pretty Serious to my blog.  I have a decent amount of their polishes but some how I have never managed to blog about them.  How strange.  Anyway, there are four polishes in Daphne's Party Polishes and while I do own them all, I will only be showing you the recent additions.  I have used Daphne's Birthday Party and Daphne After Dark and these can been seen on my Instagram page (warning: you may need to scroll back a bit to find these pics).

Daphne's Disco Party is described as a matte neon glitter bomb with pink iridescent glass flecks.  I really like the idea of this polish but was very disappointed when I realized that it had a pink tinted base instead of clear.  The formula was fine to work with, although these glitters love to cling to each other so they need some guidance.  I used one semi dabbed on coat over China Glaze Feel The Breeze.

Daphne's Garden Party is a pastel metallic glitter bomb.  Now this polish is jam packed full of glittery goodness.  Because it is so packed the formula is quick thick so I dabbed one coat of the polish over OPI Mod About You.  I think I like it better in person than I do in the pic, but not sure I quite love it like I thought I would.

Overall, I'm not loving these two polishes like I thought I would.  If Daphne's Disco Party had a clear base I think it would have been awesome, especially layered over darker polishes.  As for Daphne's Garden Party, the jury is still out on that one.  I definitely prefer the other two polishes in this range.  They are great polishes.

All four Daphne's Party Polishes are currently available from Pretty Serious Cosmetics.
