Pueen 24M Make Your Day Stamping Plates - Review

Saturday, 11 July 2015

If you have been following me on Instagram for a while than you would know that I regularly am using Pueen stamping plates.  I have been using them for quite some time now (and by quite some time I mean years).  Pueen was actually the second brand that I brought plates from and I haven't looked back.  They do great designs and the plate quality is great.  Recently Pueen have released a new collection Make Your Day.  This collection consists of twenty four round plates which feature single images, full sized nail designs and buffet style designs as well.  There is definitely a huge variety in this collection.  The collection also comes with a free storage case as well.  Warning: this post is quite picture heavy due to the amount of plates.  I haven't included paper swatches of each of the plates but if you would like me to do a post with the swatches just let me know.

How cool are these plates?  I think there are some really cute designs (I know the sheep on plate 98 certainly makes me smile) and some really cool patterns as well.  I can't wait to play with these plates some more.

The Make Your Day collection is available now from Pueen for US$20.99.

Dance Legend Neonic (Part) Collection - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 9 July 2015

I am sooooo incredibly excited that I have finally had the opportunity to try some Dance Legend polishes.  I have drooled over these polishes for longer than I can remember and now I have fifteen of their beautiful polishes in my collection.  I couldn't be happier.  With so many polishes arrive at once, it only made sense for me to start with the neons.  Today I will be sharing with you four of the twelve polishes from the Neonic Collection.

Banana Party is a neon yellow.  I am in love with this colour.  Formula wise I did find this to be thick but my bottle did leak during delivery and the lid doesn't tighten at all, so this may affect it.  It was still easy to work and was opaque in three coats.

Best Vacations is a bright orange creme.  This wasn't as bright as I was expecting, but I absolutely love the colour.  The formula is easy to work with but does give a slightly uneven coverage.  I needed three coats for even coverage.

My Wave is a bright blue creme.  I was hoping that this was my perfect neon blue polish (I'm sure that this polish doesn't actually exist) but this polish comes close to it.  The formula is definitely the best of the four that I have tried.  It applies well and only needs two coats for it to be opaque.

Umc Umc Baby is a neon pink creme.  You can never go wrong with neon pink in my opinion, well neons in general really.  I love this one.  It is easy to use but gives slightly uneven coverage.  This smooths out in three coats.

Now this may be a surprise to you, but I LOVE these polishes.  They are all just so pretty.  I can see me wearing them a lot.  I seriously want the whole collection now.

The Neonic Collection and other Dance Legend polishes are available from Dance Legend (with international shipping) as well as Llarowe.

Don't forget to follow Dance Legend on Facebook and Instagram.

Essie Winter 2015 Collection - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, 8 July 2015

I was so excited to see swatches popping up from fellow Aussie bloggers and IGers of the Essie Winter 2015 collection (or Winter 2014 collection for you international readers).  When they arrived at my door step I was over the moon.  They are super pretty colours (and I am not much of a red or orange fan so that tells you something) and a few of them stamp!  You can never go wrong with a regular polish that stamps as well.  Now onto the swatches.

Back In My Limo is described as a sheer bright ripe melon.  I'm not sure about this description.  Sheer, yes.  Bright melon?  Not so much.  To me its more of a pastel peach type of polish.  The formula is sheer and quite patchy (especially on the first coat).  I used four coats to ensure there was no visible nail line but there is still some slight unevenness.

Bump Up The Pumps is described as a coral mauve.  The formula of this one is great.  It's quite pigmented (enough for it to stamp over lighter colours - I haven't tried stamping it over darker polishes) but not quite opaque enough for it to be a one coater.  I used two coats for my swatch.  The polish in real life actually is a bit lighter and slightly dustier looking than in my picture.

Double Breasted Jacket is described as a ruby polish.  This one is quite a pinky red.  Super pretty.  I quite like this colour as it's not a straight red.  The formula is fantastic.  If you don't mind a slight visible nail line than you can definitely get away with one coat.  I used two coats for my swatch.  Now as a word of warning, this polish is quite pigmented so clean up can be a bit of a challenge.  Careful application is definitely needed.

Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low is described as a shimmering molten gold.  I absolutely love this one.  It's stunning and super shiny.  The formula is great and easy to use.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Jump In My Jumpsuit is described as a juicy red.  This is what I would call a true winter red.  The formula of this one is very similar to Double Breasted Jacket.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Tuck It In My Tux is described as a silky ivory creme.  The formula of this is the same as Back In My Limo.  It's sheer and really patch.  I used four coats for my swatch and even then it wasn't even in its coverage.

Overall, I quite like this collection.  I love that three of the shades stamp nicely and personally I think they look fantastic stamped together.  The formulas are great on four of the six shades.  Personally I would skip the sheer shades, but that is just me.  I am not a fan of sheer polishes as I really dislike visible nail lines.

This collection is limited edition so you better head down to Priceline and grab them while you can!

Emily De Molly Swatch Part 2

Monday, 6 July 2015

I'm back with another Emily de Molly swatch spam for you guys.  It occurred to me as I was rearranging my drawers that I have a lot of untrieds from Emily de Molly.  Why in the world?  I have no idea.  It is one of my favorite indie brands and I do love them all but I apparently just never get around to wearing them.  In fact, I have a lot of untrieds in both polishes and nail art stuff.  I am trying to get through some of them this month.  Today I have some swatches of the Emily de Molly's that I have recently worn.

A Pawsitive Future is a light blue creme with lots of gold shimmer and silver holographic glitter.  This polish is a Charity Of The Month and is only available for a limited time only.  It's super pretty and applies like a dream.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Diffused Dawn is a dusty slightly darkened purple with a green to gold shimmer.  Stunning polish and amazing formula as usual.  I used two coats for my swatch.  Apologizes for the holo pic.  I forgot to take a picture in sunlight.  This polish is still available to purchase.

Ego Friendly is a light green base with lavender, teal and green glitters.  Such a soft pretty polish.  I used three coats for my swatch.  Unfortunately, this polish has been discontinued so you may find it hard to find.

Fancy Sauce has a clear base with colour shifting flakies and holo.  This polish is sooooo gorgeous and is a must have in my opinion.  I really don't think pictures do it the justice it deserves.  I used one coat over Emily de Molly The Pretender (swatch is at the end of this post).  This polish is part of the recent releases and is still available for purchase.

Garnet Fire is a dark red holo with copper/bronze/gold flakies.  This polish is amazing.  I'm definitely in love with this one.  Sadly, I have no sunshine pic as it was a raining cold winters day so you will just need to take my word for it that it is truly gorgeous.  I used two coats for my swatch.  This polish is also still available.

The Pretender is a bright purple creme/jelly with strong green to gold duochrome shimmer.  I am a huge fan of this one.  It's a beautiful polish and the formula is awesome.  I used two coats for my swatch.  This polish was only recently released so it is still available to purchase.

Soooooo many Emily de Molly pretties and so little time.  There will definitely be some more Emily de Molly swatch spams in the future as I slowly make my way through the untrieds.  What is your favorite Emily de Molly polish?

Emily de Molly polishes are available directly from her site here or from one of the stockist listed here.

MILV Nail Decals - Swatches & Review

Saturday, 4 July 2015

It's no secret that I am a fan of nail art, but I am far from being an expert.  In fact, I still consider myself more on a beginner type of level - an experienced beginner if you will.  What I can do I think is very basic and I am ok with.  In fact, my art teachers throughout school would probably laugh at the idea of me doing any form of art now.  Luckily for me, there is a HUGE range of nail art products available like stamps, stickers and water decals that can take my nail art to a whole other level.

I've shown stamping on my blog but I haven't introduced water decals here yet.  Today, I am changing that with MILV water decals.  I found these via Instagram and was instantly in need of some.  They have such amazing designs, but sadly they didn't ship to Australia.  My dreams were soon answered as Powder Perfect have began stocking MILVs and a huge range of them (I believe I ordered about a hundred different ones and no I didn't even get one of everything).

Powder Perfect stock well over a hundred different designs of MILVs in various styles.  Below is a few examples of a few different types that you can get.

Individual designs

Gold designs

Full nail rounded designs (note that these can only be worn over a white base)

Decals over a white base

Full nail design

Cut to your desired size

Decals over a multi-coloured base

Like I have I said, these are such great designs are super simple to you.  I actually find these easily to work with than some of the ones that you get from ebay.  The ebay ones also have a longer dry time and tend to drag off with top coat if you aren't careful.  I haven't experienced that issue with the MILVs.  I also love that the MILVs have clearly written if you need a white base or not.  I have had issue in the past thinking I could use any base colour and then not being able to see the design properly.

MILV decals are available (with worldwide shipping available) from Powder Perfect.

Uberchic Beauty Hipster 01 - Swatches & Review

Friday, 3 July 2015

I'm back with some more swatches and a review of another stamping plate from Uberchic Beauty.  This time I have Hipster 01 (I have done swatches and a review of Geek Love 01 here if you missed it).  I am sure I will be saying the same thing in all my reviews of the Uberchic plates.  They have awesome designs, are great quality and stamp really well.  Seriously, I am hooked on them.  There are some new plates being released this week and I am definitely dying to see what they are.  Anyway, getting side tracked.  Like with all of my previous stamping post, I have used Konad black and my rectangle squishy stamper from Messy Mansion.

How cool is this plate?  I love it.  The designs are awesome and they stamp beautifully.  Hipster is definitely a really appropriate name.  I can't wait to play with it some more.  Which designs are you loving?

Uberchic Beauty plates are be purchased from their site here.
