Throwback Thursday: Easter Edition

Thursday, 17 March 2016

It's nearly that time of year again when a generous bunny comes around and delivers lots of chocolate goodies so I thought why not do another little Throwback Thursday.  It's been a while since I have done one of these posts and I personally think they are a little fun, especially the holiday themed ones.  So today let's take a little trip down memory lane and have a look at some of the Easter manis I have done over the last couple of years.

Last year I created a nail art wheel full of different ideas that you can use over the Easter holiday.  You can see the full post here which includes closer views of each of the designs.

Here are a few manis that I wore and posted on Instagram over the last couple of years.

I always think it's fun to have a look back at some of the manis I have created in the past.  Some of them I cringe at now but it's nice to see the changes and growth that I have made.

What sort of nail art do you like to do for Easter?

Throwback Thursday: Christmas Edition

Thursday, 24 December 2015

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!  I can't believe how quickly Christmas has come around.  In fact, it really hasn't felt like Christmas at all.  I am guessing because I am away from home and don't have my usual Christmas decorations up that it's throwing me off.  I do have a little girl who has been asking for days now if Santa is coming now.  I imagine she will be one very excited girl in the morning.  Anyway, seems I didn't get a chance to do many Christmas manis this year I thought it would be fun to do a throwback to the Christmas manis I did last year.

I really have missed doing lots of Christmas manis this year.  Some of these manis would have to be my favorite Christmas manis that I have ever done.  Which is your favorite?

Throwback Thursday: Halloween Nail Art Edition

Thursday, 22 October 2015

In the spirit of Halloween week here on my blog, I thought it would be fun (well maybe interesting is the better word) to take a trip back to 2014 and see some of the manis I did for Halloween.  Now I should point out that I used a different camera than what I do now, so the quality of the pictures aren't great.  I also had to take screenshots of the manis because I don't actually keep the original picture.  Anyway I hope you enjoy this throwback and it gives you some ideas for some Halloween manis.

Which is your favorite design that I did last year?  I think my favorites are the Frankenstein's, the Haunted House, the Graveyard and Neon Monsters.  I am planning on doing some more Halloween nail art designs on my blog in the next few days.

Throwback Thursday: Celestial Cosmetics Moonglow & Sea Of Tranquility

Thursday, 15 October 2015

There has been a bit of an unintended break from Throwback Thursdays, but they are making a come back.  After unpacking all of my polishes again, I kept seeing so many untried beauties in my collection and they really deserve to see the light of day.  Today is a slightly different Throwback for you.  Not only were these polishes released a little while again (they are from the start of this year if my memory serves me correctly) but these are actually swatches that I did early to mid this year.  It's like a double throw back.

Moonglow is a dusty light pink linear holo.  Super pretty and so girly.  I really like this one.  Now for some strange reason I don't actually have any notes written about this polish (no idea why not) but I am going to guess and say that it applied easy and needed three coats.

Sea Of Tranquility is a baby blue linear holo.  Another pretty holo.  I quite like pastel holos and really should wear them more often.  The formula of this one was easy to use but was a little patchy.  I used three coats for my swatch.

From my quick little search it appears that Sea Of Tranquility is no longer available, however Moonglow has been re-released for a limited time only.  So head over to Celestial Cosmetics ASAP to grab a bottle before it disappears again.

Throwback Thursday: China Glaze I'm Not Lion & China Glaze Purr-fect Plum

Thursday, 17 September 2015

On my very first Throwback Thursday post a couple of weeks ago, I had a request from one of my dear readers Christy to Throwback to China Glaze's On Safari Collection.  This collection was released back in 2012 and consists of twelve polishes with a mix of finishes.  I only picked up four of the polishes (some of the others still remain on my wishlist) - I'm Not Lion, I Herd That, Jungle Queen and Purr-fect Plum.  Today I am going to share with you my two favorite polishes from this collection.

I'm Not Lion is a gold, silver and holographic glitter.  This polish can either been worn on its own (like I have for my swatches) or layered over a base colour.  I personally prefer to wear this one on its own.  It's really sparkly and applies really well.  I used three coats for my swatch.  Now I will apologize that I do not have a good sunshine picture.  I worn with this on a day that was meant to be sunny according to the weather man, but apparently he was very, very wrong.  There was not a single patch of sun.

Purr-fect Plum is a dark plum creme.  This is definitely one of my favorite winter polishes and it also stamps rather well over lighter colours.  Application is great, and it's close to being a one coater.  I used two coats for my swatch.

I do love both of these polishes.  They are definitely my favorite from this collection and I would probably even go as far as saying that they are some of my favorite polishes that China Glaze have ever released.

I believe both of these polishes are still available (I have seen them online) but I don't know about availability in stores.

Picture Polish Beige, Fairy Floss & Tiffany - Swatches & Review

Thursday, 10 September 2015

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I have three beautiful creme polishes to show you from piCture pOlish.  I have quite a decent collection of piCture pOlish polishes in my ever growing collection, and the three I have to share with you make for great additions.  Not only are they perfect Spring colours (or anytime of the year really) but the formulas are fantastic too.  All three of these polishes applied really easily and only needed two coats to be opaque.

Beige is a classic neutral creme.  I think everyone should own at least one nude creme polish in their collection.  It's great on it's own, or as a base for nail art or glitter.  There is so much versatility with a nude shade.  I personally think that this is a great nude for my skin tone.

Fairy Floss is a pastel pink creme.  Now do I really need to tell you that I love this one?  Seriously it's pink and pretty.  Why wouldn't I love it?

Tiffany is described as a soft egg shell blue and is a dedication to Audrey.  Personally this looks a little more green than blue to me, but whatever you want to call it, it is stunning.  I have had this on my wishlist for a lot longer than I should have and I am so happy to own it now.  Definitely one of my favorites from piCture pOlish.

How gorgeous are these polishes?  I love them.  The colours are stunning and the formulas are fantastic as well.  And a fun fact for you, all three of these shades were released back in 2009 and are all still available now.  How is that for a little Throwback Thursday for you?

All three of these piCture pOlish shades are available from piCture pOlish. For my international readers please check the many International Stockists.

Did you know that piCture pOlish not only share beautiful manis from their customers on Instagram (you can follow them here if you aren't already) but they also have a YouTube channel for lots of nail art tutorials.
