February 2021 Favourites

It's official the end of February and what a month it has been.  This month we had another lockdown (luckily it was only for 5 days but still I was hoping for no lockdowns this year), I reorganised all of my Grace-full Nail Polish and Emily de Molly polishes (I had outgrown the drawers so needed to purchase yet another Alex drawer set), and this month we had to say goodbye to our beautiful nearly 15 year old cat Sampi.  She unfortunately was very ill and was starting to struggle to walk.  Losing Sampi definitely has been really hard for our whole family (especially for our daughter and it was her first experience with death). So with good reason I have been a little quiet this month.  But not so quite that I have nothing to put in a favourites post so let's take a look at all of the things I have loved in February.

Nail Art
So much for my goal at the start of the year for doing more nail art.  This month I have done none.  Opps.  But in fairness the little nail time I have had I have been busy swatching new polishes for Grace-full Nail Polish (which you may have seen in the last couple of blog posts) and also some new things coming from Emily de Molly (you'll need to wait for tomorrow's post for those - they are definitely not to be missed).

Nail Polish

Emily de Molly January 2021 Trio
Hayley surprised us all with this gorgeous trio last month and OMG I am in love.  They are all so good!

Grace-full Nail Polish Harbour Sunset (Polish Pick Up February 2021)
I'm not usually one to rave about thermals (mainly because they are a pain in the bum for me to photograph) but I have nothing but good words for this thermal.  The colours are gorgeous, it transitions well between the states and the formula is great.

Grace-full Nail Polish Unintentional Collection
Grace-full's first collection of the year is awesome!  There is such a great mix of colours and finishes in there.  I probably could put the whole collection in my favourites but Future Tracy who needs to narrow down favourites at the end of the year won't be too happy.  So my absolute favourites from this collection are Fortuitous, Incidental, Coincidental and Unintended.

Grace-full Nail Polish Daintree (Throwback February 2021)
I'm pretty sure that this polish was in a favourites post when it was originally released a few years back but I still love it so it needs to be in today's post as well.  I mean how gorgeous is this colour?

This month has definitely been quiet on the blog post front but I do promise that I am still around and have been swatching so many goodies.  Definitely come back tomorrow to check out the new Emily de Molly polishes because they are not to be missed.  You can bet that they will be in my March favourites.

Grace-full Nail Polish February Throwback Polishes - Swatches & Review

 PRESS SAMPLE

Surprise!  Or maybe it's not a surprise.  I guess it depends on if you follow Grace-full Nail Polish or not.  I know I have previously mentioned (and Grace-full have definitely mentioned in their Facebook group) that 2021 would be the year of the Throwback polishes.  This month Grace-full Nail Polish are bringing us not one but two throwbacks.  I know I am excited for these.  It's like revisiting me older polishes in my collection and it is also perfect for you guys if you missed these beauties when they were originally released.  So let's take a look.

Daintree is a green teal linear holo with a metallic look and specks of blue flecks throughout.  This polish was originally released as part of the True Blue Collection back in 2016.  Such an awesome collection and such an awesome polish.  It's a gorgeous colour with an amazing formula.  You could get away with one coat.  My swatch shows two coats.

White Lighter is a thermal that in its cold state is a turquoise blue and moves to a very light grey in it's warm state and has a pop of holo and iridescent glitters.  This polish was originally released as part of the Warren Sisters Collection back in 2017.   White Lighter is a nice colour in both it's warm and cold states and transitions well between them (maybe a little too well because I did have trouble when I was trying to photograph it).  Formula wise it is easy to use but I did find it to be a little sheer in the warm state.  My swatch shows three coats.

Both of these are great shades and it's so nice that they are making a come back.  I am definitely excited to see what other polishes Theresa will be bringing back.

The Throwback polishes (and the Unintentional Collection) will be available from February 28th at 8pm AEDT on Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site and the international site.

Grace-full Nail Polish Unintentional Collection - Swatches & Review

 PRESS SAMPLE

Today I have a very excited post for you - a brand new collection from Grace-full Nail Polish!  Yay!  I'm pretty sure that this is their first collection of 2021 and boy is it a good one.  This collection is called the Unintentional Collection and I have to say that I love it!  It is full of a mix of colours and finishes.  So before I start rambling let's just take a look at all the pretties.

Chance is a black jelly base with UCC flakes in green-blue-gold.  I really like the combination of the flakies with the black base.  The formula is also great and easy to use.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Coincidental is a multichrome that moves from black to red.  The black also has a purplish tinge.   I looooove this one!  It's gorgeous and it shifts so well.  It's definitely unique in my collection.  The formula is fantastic and easy to use.  My swatch shows two coats.

Contingent is a dark red with fine aurora shimmer that shifts between red and a bronze brown.  This is such a beautiful colour.  I couldn't really see the shift in the polish like I can in the bottle but I'm not sure if that is just because I didn't have the right lighting.  Or perhaps I am going blind.  Formula wise this polish is awesome and so close to being a one coater.  My swatch shows two coats.

Fortuitous is a topper with holo flakes, crystal colour changing flakies and a smattering of gold aurora shimmer.  I'm sure no one will be surprised to hear my say that I love this polish!  I think it looks amazing over black (which is what my swatch shows) but it would also look awesome over so many other colours too.  Formula wise I did find it easy enough to work with but some of the flakies did stick together and then wanted to stick up on my nails.  For my swatch I used one coat over black.

Incidental is a hot pink with aurora shimmer, magenta/blue iridescent glitter and a smattering of pink micro flakes.  Loooooove the colour of this one too!  I did find that the formula of this one was a little sheer for me and that it did dry a little lumpy.  For my swatch I used two coats (although probably should have done a third) and used two coats of top coat.

Random is a yellow holo with a yellow shimmer.  Now this is a cool polish.  It's not a favourite but it is very cool.  The formula is great and easy to use (although clean up isn't so easy).  I used two coats for my swatch.

Unforeseen is a deep French navy with a fine aurora shimmer that shifts a little to purple.  This is a such a beautiful colour and the formula is great.  For my swatch I used two coats.

Unintended is a fine aurora shimmer that moves through green, brown and pink.  Love this one!  The colours are gorgeous and the shift is fantastic.  This is definitely one of those polishes that look better in person than in my pictures.  The formula is great and easy to use.  For my swatch I used two coats.

While this collection was an unintentional collection - it's awesome.  I am a big fan of it.  I think there is such a good mix of colours and finishes.  My personal favourites are Fortuitous, Incidental, Coincidental and Unintended.

The Unintentional Collection will be available from February 28th at 8pm AEDT on Grace-full Nail Polish's Australian site and the international site.
